MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

It'd take balls for me to fight a grizzly bear but that doesn't make it a good idea. Still, you know, follow your dreams, even if they do likely end in you getting beaten unconscious.

I'm pissed Dana won't let Mickey come out to the song "Mickey" because he wants "something harder" for his walkout song. Would have been amazing to see a UFC fighter come out to that song.

Dana White has a lot of qualities - being a cunt, being a bald cunt, being an absolute cunt - but having an ear for a good theme isn't one of them.

Either a thirty-seven-year-old man with numerous injuries and no background in combat sports was going to walk into the greatest martial arts league in the world and get the shit kicked out of him or we were going to find out Batman could be a thing in real life. Quite honestly, CM Punk lasted longer than I thought he would - and he got mauled. Gall will come up against some real competition and get laid out. Punk will have a second UFC fight, lose just as badly, then disappear. If I were him, I'd have retired two years ago and spent the rest of my days reading comic books and sleeping with my wife, so I guess I'll give him respect for chasing his dream, even if that dream involves getting repeatedly battered.

As for professional wrestlers coming out to their entrance themes (and only one of the bastards was still under contract):

CM Punk: 1
Brock Lesnar: 0

Expected. And commendable.

The two HW fights became bitchfests but props to Miocic. Man they really fear that right hand in that div.

Found this online earlier today and couldn't help but laugh. Edmond Tarverdyan is the worst coach in MMA. He knows nothing. Here are the stats for fighters since they joined this idiot. Rousey's success has blinded people to how bad this guy is at coaching. She achieved success based on what her mother taught her for years and a martial art style that she had been training in since she was a child. This nitwit takes all the credit for it and then when she's in her moment of need against Holm, well this idiot tells her what a good job she's doing. Anybody who joins his gym deserves to lose three in a row and get cut from the UFC. He's horrible.

Baszler 0-3
Guida 0-2
Duke 1-5
Shafir 1-2
Ellenberger 2-4
Browne 2-4

6-20

Gall called out Sage after clobbering Punk, & then in a backstage interview he said he wants to fight on the MSG card, is there any realistic chance that Gall/Sage happens at MSG or is two months just too short of window to put that fight together?

I absolutely understand the idea behind putting Punk on the main card of this UFC PPV even though he's an amateur and didn't belong there at all. I mean, I'm not a huge UFC fan but even I watched this one. So it made sense money wise, but damn if that shit wasn't dangerous. Punk got absolutely mauled in the 2 min and some odd seconds he lasted. How can it be legal to put a 38 year old man with no martial arts experience in the octagon with a 27 year old stud who has years of martial arts and combat experience?

I understand that we should applaud Punk's bravery, but that should never be allowed again. I felt sorry for the man. There were several times after his match during his many interviews where I thought he was just going to break down and cry. Hell, I think even the audience felt bad for him. They went from booing him to cheering him fairly quickly. Maybe his Cena like promo at the end had something to do with it, but I think a lot of them just felt plain bad for him.

Can't deny the man's bravery or his testicular fortitude, however, we can question the man's intelligence. I hope this motivates him to either get better and start off as he should have; which is in the amateurs or it motivates him to realise what he does best is entertain and he comes to his senses and gives the WWE that long past due phone call.

Two months should be enough for a decent camp. Sage/Gall would likely be a decent enough fight. I just don't think there is much in it for Sage and the UFC. Sage seems like a guy the UFC wants to try to build up, at least I feel they were. If he beats Gall, big deal, he beat the guy who beat a pro wrestler. If he loses, then all his hype is gone after losing two of three. I'm not sure if Sage wants to move back to 170 after his last fight was at 155 either.

Dana says they will make it happen, but DW says a lot of things.

Dan Hardy wants to make a return at lightweight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't/doesn't he have some sort of nervous system disorder that caused him to basically retire?

So Werdum Vs. Velasquez could happen at UFC 207.

Miocic has asked for a break.

I think that next challenger could be decided out of Cain Vs Fabricio. Which might take place on 30 December. But that would mean that Miocic remains champ for this year without defending.

Stipe has fought three times this year and made heaps of money on his last fight. The guy has earned a break and shouldn't fight until 2017.

Stipe vs. Cain/Werdum for the title on Super Bowl weekend.

Chael Sonnen to Bellator.

GET FUCKING HYPED!

I thought I'd never see that double leg takedown ever again.

He's back guys.

My man is back.
