The Associated Press is running a story of a former WWE licensing agent who admitted today to participate in a $1 million kickback scheme. 61 year old Stanley Shenker of Stanley Shenker and Associates pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport to conspiring to defraud WWE of honest services by paying about $1 million in kickbacks to a WWE insider. WWE's senior vice president of licensing and merchandising at that time was James Bell, his partner in crime. The whole story lasted four years from 1998 to 2002 as Shenker paid Bell $950,000 - what the Associated Press reports was just a fraction of Shenker's commission through licensing deals with WWE. He will be sentenced in April and faces a maximum of 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $4 million. Meanwhile James Bell - who pleaded guilty last year - is still awaiting sentencing.

Joe sent word that starting on January 17, Cablevision will now start offering its customers the WWE 24/7 Video On Demand service.

Matthew Rehome sent this in: I live in San Antonio, Texas and just saw a commercial for a car show called Autorama. Just wanted to let the fans know that WWE Diva Torrie Wilson will be there. It will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on January 19-21. Just wanted to let all of you guys know.

Tom sent this in: I thought this was interesting. I was watching Royal Rumble 2000 on WWE 24/7. On the intro they hype the Cactus Jack vs. HHH Title match. If you look closely some of the Cactus footage is from ECW and WCW. Which doesnt seem that strange until you realise that WCW and ECW were still in buisness at that time. That mean's WWE went back and edited the hype package for the show.

Hulk Hogan made an appearance on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show yesterday. During Hogan's appearance, he took a phone call from Vince McMahon's secretary Ann Russo. Russo was calling Hogan to let him know about the candidates for this year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and wanted to know who he thought should be inducted.

Russo, who had no idea she was on the air at the time, read off the following names as candidates for the Hall of Fame: The Von Erichs, Ultimate Warrior, The Original Sheik, Ric Flair, Mr. Fuji, Nick Bockwinkel, Muhammed Ali, Mr. T, Mike Tyson, Howard Finkel, Jim Ross, Ken Patera, King Curtis, Ted DiBiase, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Honky Tonk Man, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Ebersol (NBC Executive responsible for creation of Saturday Night's Main Event), The Wild Samoans, Big Boss Man, Bob Backlund, Rick Rude, The Bushwhackers, Rocky Johnson and The Brooklyn Brawler.

Hogan was then asked by Russo to pick names from the list that he thought would be good candidates for this year. Hogan named off Big Boss Man, King Curtis, Dusty Rhodes, Randy Savage, The Wild Samoans, The Von Erichs, Rick Rude and The Bushwhackers. In what was described as a very funny moment during the show, when Russo was told she was live on the air, she sounded shocked and noted that she would be getting into trouble for saying the names for the public to hear. Hogan then left the studio to take a call from Vince McMahon, with it later being known that McMahon was not happy about the names going over the air the way they did.

WWE is looking to form a faction which would include Harry Smith, Nattie Neidhart, T.J. Wilson and possibly Teddy Hart. This group would be called The New Hart Foundation. A lot of this depends on Teddy Hart signing with WWE because he is under contract to MTV's Wrestle Society X promotion until February. Also, oftentimes he is his own worst enemy when it comes to promotions who book him.

In regards to how they are all related, T.J. Wilson is a long time friend of the Harts as he'd always hang out at their house and he's considered to be family. Wilson signed a developmental contract with WWE a few months ago. After he fulfills his indy obligations, he will report to Deep South Wrestling. He is currently in a relationship with Nattie Neidhart, who is also under contract to WWE. Nattie is of course the daughter of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. Jim Neidhart was married to Bret Hart's sister Ellie, but apparently, they are now divorced. Also, it's pretty much a lock that Nattie will be called up to WWE sometime in 2007 one way or another.

After appearing on several house shows during the summer, Harry Smith has been sitting on the sidelines since September because WWE has no idea as to what do with him. Also, he's not appearing on OVW or DSW shows either.

Teddy Hart is a third generation member of the Hart wrestling family. His mother is Georgia Hart, who is another one of Bret's sisters. In 1998, Hart became the youngest person ever signed to a WWE developmental contract, but he was subsequently released a shortwhile later due to "attitude" problems.

In other news, Mike DiBiase, the son of wrestling legend Ted DiBiase, is reportedly dating Bret Hart's daughter Jade. Jade is 23 years old and not involved with wrestling. Although, you could see her sitting with the Hart relatives at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last year for Bret Hart's induction.

The Pro Wrestling Torch is reporting that according to observers within WWE, Shawn Michaels appears to be very long overdue for some time off from the road. New reports have suggested that WWE's grueling schedule have finally caught up to Michaels physically, with long overseas flights being tough on his lower back.

Michaels does not take any pain pills, so while he isn't masking any type of injuries he might have at this time, he also isn't having any pain free days at the same time either. What makes things worse for Michaels is that Triple H's quadricep injury puts added pressure on him to remain on the road with the company as WWE is very short on top acts with solid in-ring experience at this time. There is still no definite word on what's going to happen with D-X, or Michaels long-term wise in WWE while HHH is out.

The K-Fed/Cena match on the 1/1 edition of Raw did a 4.1 rating. The over run with Cena giving K-Fed the FU did a 4.3 rating.

ECW on Sci Fi has lost 41% of it's males 35-49 demographic since week 15 of the show.

The Undertaker vs. Batista is still penciled in for Wrestlemania.

Stephanie McMahon totally freaked out backstage when Triple H tore his quad. Her reaction was described as being as if Triple H had been killed in the ring rather than just torn a muscle.

As noted yesterday here on the site, former AWA world champion Larry Zbyszko recently contacted WWE. According to various reports, Zbyszko was seeking a legends contract and work as an announcer. Zbyszko is no longer apart of TNA. If you were to ask me, I wouldn't expect to see Larry in WWE. He lashed out at Vince numerous times several years back and went as far as to file a lawsuit against WWE. Never say never though.

The Cyber Sunday PPV did an early estimate of around 233,000 buys with about 150,000 of those being domestic. The 2005 Taboo Tuesday PPV did 248,000. That is pretty sad that a Tuesday PPV beat out a tradition Sunday event.

Triple H has begun rehabilitation in Alabama and will continue for the next three weeks before he returns home to continue with his physical therapy. The current prognosis is that he should be walking again in six weeks and will miss anywhere between four and six months

While nothing has been confirmed yet, Vince McMahon has reportedly mentioned names such as Mick Foley and Chris Jericho in some recent discussions about a special appearance at WrestleMania 23 this year in Detroit. At one point a McMahon vs. Foley angle was planned to start soon to take place at WrestleMania, but talk of that has said to have died down.

Speaking of WrestleMania 23, there are around 10,000 seats left at Ford Field that haven't been released to the public to be sold yet. WWE has already released blocks of tickets a few times since the big "sellout" a few months ago and all blocks have sold very quickly.

Danny Bashman is doing a commissioner-like role in OVW, dubbed the troubleshooter. Bashman is currently out of action with a torn bicep.

WWE's next show in Portugal on 6/8 is already sold out.

The Smackdown/ECW brand house show on 12/29 in Evansville, IN drew 3,200 fans. Also on 12/28, Raw in Fayetteville, NC drew 4,000 fans.

This coming week on WWE, Shawn Michaels will face Rated RKO in a handicap match. On Smackdown, United States champion Chris Benoit will face Chavo Guerrero in a No-DQ match.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is said have an 85% chance of survival.

Expect lots more models to be hired soon as we've been reporting. The feeling is that they need more nice looking people in order to get the ratings up, reports Dave Meltzer.

- CM Punk is currently in the dog house for openly disagreeing with the layout of the Elimination Chamber match at December to Dismember. This is the main reason why his winning streak was ended on ECW TV this past week. Punk was personally told by Arn Anderson that "after 14 years on being on WWE televison, Holly is the bigger star" as an explanation as to why the heel should pin the babyface clean. Also Vince McMahon has suggested that CM Punk turn heel.

- Monty Brown is currently scheduled to be a heel when he debuts.

- The upcoming "Wrestling's Most Famous Families" DVD will mostly focus on the Hart's, Guerreros and Funks.

- Nobuyuki Sakakibara claims that the Pride meeting with WWE was about them using Umaga, Batista and Undertaker and Pride's proposed Super Heavyweight Tournement in 2007. However Dave says there is a slightly less then a 0% chance of this actually happening.

- Comcast Cable has put a block on all of the WWE 24/7 programming. This means that the content will no longer be recordable via VCR or DVD Recorder. It has not gone into effect in all areas just yet but it will soon.

- Dave Scherer reports that CBS has rejected 2 Godaddy.com commercials for the Super Bowl that feature Candice Michelle.

- The Rock's Greatest Matches DVD has been pushed back from April to June. The set will be 3 discs with a total run time of 585 minutes.

- Paul Heyman has been pulled from series 1 of Jakks ECW action figure line. Here are prototype images of the set which will now feature only 5 figures. The final version of RVD will come with the first ever Jakks produced ECW title.

WWE.com has an article up about Martin Luther King Day.

On the latest edition of "Legends Roundtable" on WWE 24/7, Michael Hayes was telling a story about the first time The Fabulous Freebirds came out to entrance music. Hayes said they came out to the song "Freebird", to which Jim Ross added, "Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird." Hayes asked Ross why he kept correcting him and Ross said not everyone knows who Skynrd is. Dusty Rhodes, who was also involved at the table, added, "Who doesn't know Skynyrd?" Ross said anyone who was born after the 1980's, to which Rhodes added quote, "Oh, you mean the writing staff."

Razor200421 sent this in: Not sure if this is important but yesterday at the WrestleMania Fan Axxess Tour, their were multiple "TNA Sucks" chants. Today there were a few TNA and VKM chants. Also, many people booed whenever the guy said Cena and even resulted in a loud "Cena Sucks" chant. Hillbilly Jim looks way different now.

Skid Row bassist/songwriter Rachel Bolan has started pre-production with Atlanta based punk-pop hardcore band THE LUCHAGORS. The group, which features former WWE superstar Amy "Lita" Dumas on vocals, will be heading into the studio late January with Bolan at the production helm.

With Triple H out injured the main candidates to face John Cena are, Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels. The feeling is that Michaels will be winning the Royal Rumble as it's in his home town of San Antonio.

The recently signed Monty Brown hasn't started yet because they want him to rest up his bad knee before he debuts. Also, he is pegged to be a heel when he starts with the company.

Ron Simmons, the first African-American World Champion, recalls the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The Extreme Makeover home edition episode featuring WWE Superstars John Cena, Ashley and Batista aired last night on ABC. They only appeared on camera for about two minutes. They were there to give the kids of the family a WWE themed bedroom filled with action figures, posters, etc. They also gave the family tickets to WrestleMania.

The legal problems with Comedy Central over the Mr. McMahon’s Ass cartoon have been settled. WWE will be allowed to continue using the cartoon.

Reports from those backstage were that when Vince McMahon got back after the Rosie/Trump segment, he was red hot due to the chants from the crowd. More so for the "TNA" chants than the "We Want Wrestling" chants.

Furthermore, the segment was largely written by Brian Gerwitz, who knows things that will get over with the boss, even if they don't with the crowd. Even after everything that went down, Vince McMahon still loved the segment and to "expect more."

Several readers are saying that the chants ('TNA', 'boring', and 'We Want Wrestling') were edited out of the UK broadcast of RAW.

The 1/1 Raw in Canada did 245,000 viewers (roughly a 3.0 rating). The best of ECW did 59,000 viewers and the best of Smackdown drew 126,000 viewers.

From the believe or not file, WWE hall of famer The Iron Sheik suffered alcohol poisoning during a recent trip to Boston where he was doing some interviews.

Also from the believe it or not file, WWE still has Theresa Hays-Laughlin (Beulah McGillicutty) under a contract with a low downside guarantee. Beulah is married to Tommy Dreamer.

Former WWE and WCW superstar Sean O'Haire is giving up fighting, kickboxing, and pro wrestling.

The planned finish for the New Year's Revolution DX vs. Rated RKO PPV match was a victory for Edge and Randy Orton via disqualification.

We have yet to receive an attendace figure for New Year's Revolution in Kansas City, but the 1/7 PPV drew an estimated crowd of 10,000 fans.

The "Donald Trump-Rosie O'Donnell" Raw match was largely written by Raw head writer Brian Gerwitz.

Despite the TNA chants, Vince McMahon loved the Rosie vs. Donald segment.

Some people are pushing for Hardcore Holly to take on Bobby Lashley at the 2007 Royal Rumble. However, that appears to be a dark horse candidate. The current plan is Lashley vs. Test, although there is the possibility of RVD being added to the mix to make it a three-way match.

Before his match with RVD at the 1/6 Smackdown/ECW house show in Terre Haute, Indiana, Hardcore Holly spit a mouthful of water into the face of 'Sign Guy'. Although, he held up a sign that read "I hope you got some talent for Christmas" in front of Holly. 'Sign Guy' is the guy who often appears at WWE shows with some creative signs and always wears a red hat and mechanic's shirt. He was featured on WWE Confidential a few years back, not to mention a recent issue of WWE Magazine.

This wasn't Holly's only incident before the match because apparently, two front-row fans were tossed from the building for touching Holly, even though they only patted him on the back. Holly told security to throw them out after he challenged them to touch him again.

During the same house show, 'Sign Guy' held up a poster in front of Test that read "The best body chemicals can buy", with a large needle being injected into a photo of Test. Test laughed it off.
