Michael McGillicutty vs Dolph Ziggler

Pre-Show Stalwart
Dolph Ziggler has based most of his moveset off of Mr.Perfect, he's mentioned many times in WWE Magazine his fandom towards Mr. Perfect and how much he's been inspired by him but Joe/Mike is his son, it's not a high calibar match up but it would be a sound ground clinic and show off Joe/Mike's in ring skills, I feel Joe has not been used at his full potential in the ring in 3-5 minute tag team bouts with David " I'm here because I'm banging someone famous" Otunga and both Dolph and Joe are underatted performers on the roster. This is again just one of the matches that has to happen but won't because it isn't going to draw, it would just be a great technical match. We never got to see Jack Swagger vs Shelton Benjamin either and the same thing will probably happen with this match up. As a WRESTLING fan this is a dream match, just an idea, tell me your thoughts and opinions.

Well in my opinion it's not even close. Dolph handles himself like a freaking legend in the ring and is very technically sound and also the best seller in the business today. While McGuillicutty is good in the ring he isn't GREAT like Dolph Ziggler. The only move McGuillicutty does that impresses me is his dropkick. But then again Dolph does it much better and knows how to time it perfectly while his opponent is coming at him on midair. Ziggler is more talented than most of the main eventers right now.

While McGuillicutty has talent he still has to improve more in the ring for me to consider him on Ziggler's level. Sorry I just don't see McGuillicutty being a worthy opponent for Dolph. And the comparison to Mr.Perfect speaks value for Dolph Ziggler. He has a good look and phenomenal talent like Hennig had.

I want to see the match too, I really want to see it, but the thing that keeps me from talking about it more is that I don't want it rushed. Joe Hennig needs to be able stand toe to toe with Ziggler first, and not be carried. Hennig would actually be a very good choice for Vickie Guerrero to pick up.

But again, the most important part of this feud is that it's not rushed into. Joe needs to be able to hold his own and not have Ziggler carry him in their matches. I think Hennig could handle the matches... maybe, but he's not there on the mic yet.

for the match to happen one of them needs to turn face. joe needs to talk about his dad and use the perfect plex to win some singles matches against mid carders. it would take a few months and joe needs to first prove that he deserves the chance which he hasn't done yet.

Finally someone else has picked up on what I've been saying for awhile.

Let Joe be a Hennig!!

And having Vickie be "interested" in his services would work well into the storyline...Being the fact that she was married to Eddie means she probably spent a good amount of time around the wrestling industry,Hennig is a name well known going all the way back to Joe's grandpa Larry "The Axe" Hennig.
So she could say that she's followed some of the 2nd gen. stars for quite some time.
But I also think that the catalyst to this all would be Ziggler coming out to Curt's music, driving Joe mad!!
He'd take that as a disrespect to his dad!!
He'd also throw out the fact that Dolph started out as a member of the "spirit squad"(what drugs were they on when they thought that one up)
while embarassing clips would be shown as well.

..You're kidding right? Dolph has worked his ass off to put on incredible matches and your idea is to bury his entire career like that? No just.. No.. His old gimmicks with the Spirit Squad and Kerwin White's caddy should never be mentioned.. It would be an idiotic choice to make considering they've been building Dolph as a great threat to guys like Randy Orton and a future main eventer.

I think Joe should be allowed to be Henning "The Son of Perfection" not Dolph Zigglar with his finishing move named after a rolling paper. What an insult to the Henning family, even his song "I am perfection" what a joke. If Curt Henning were alive this would not be taking place. Example "Ricky Steamboat Jr" will not be call Jim Angus he will be billed as the son of a legend...look at Cody Rhodes...Ted Dibiase Jr.....Zigglar is a good athelete but a rip off none the less. He needs a new gimmick, new hair, new music, leave Mr Perfects legacy to his son like all the others....even Tamina is identified as Snuka's daughter.......Michael McGuillicutty.....whatever that is such a joke...the male cheerleader is now perfection???? WWE is so screwed up sometimes???

Has anyone else noticed that JR has been using "Perfect" as an adjective for McGillicutty's moves lately? He's really been punching it at least once a match for him. He's also being described as a 3rd generation superstar. Perhaps leading to him being "revealed" as Mr. Perfect's kid?

And Mikael, they already tried the new hair route w/ Ziggler. Flopped big time. It's a perfect (pun intended) gimmick for him. The hair, the music, the outfit. Fits him to a T.

ziggler gets the perfect title until hennig can take it. it doesn't seem as if hennig can play the character as well as dolph. hennig can try and join legacy if he wanted to use his fathers name. cody needs someone else to abuse.

i agree with this match it would "perfect" it would finally put joe or mike or whatever he is going to be called as a face, btw who is otunga banging that is famous

They were always mentioning how McGuillicutty was the son of Mr.Perfect on NXT and mention it every now and then when he moved on to the Raw roster. So why would they "reveal" him as Perfect's son if they keep mentioning it? Lol damn.

Jennifer Hudson, they've talked about on commentary on NXT and Raw and even Michael Tarver talked about in interview recently how he only got moved up so fast to the main roster because of it. Thankyou for concurring I was exspecting to be hated on for this thread. Thanks.

Hennig still has a long way to go.

Dolph sells extremely well, shit he even sells the impact of his own finish. He has mannerisms, he's constantly in character, and he never looks out of character or like he's lacking confidence in his character.

Hennig seems pretty technically sound to me. I mean, I have no idea how to actually do most moves, but he doesn't seem to hurt people or botch and he was trained by Harley Race, so I'm guessing he's pretty good (on a side note, I saw hennig's 2nd match ever on the indies).

Hennig looks like he's getting it. He's talking shit in the ring, shows a ton of expression on his face. He seems to get that you need to be a character all the time to make it believable.

I think in a few years, this match would be amazing. I don't think Hennig wrestles all that much like his dad though. Maybe he's taking more from his grandpa Larry the Axe.

I think everyone assumes that McGuillicutty is great simply because he's a Hennig. That's like saying David Flair needed more ring time. Maybe... just MAYBE Joe Hennig isnt a chip off the old black, and you guys need to put this argument to bed. Dolph Ziggler is proven talent. No assumptions necessary.

I think this could be a great match. If Mike wasn't stuck in the McTungacutty tag team then he could challenge Ziggler for the US title and they could do a full length feud. Mike could say Dolph is ripping off his dad and say that as his son he is the real deal. He could then show off what he is capable of and working with Ziggler could be good for him. Mike is needed in the tag team division right now though and Ziggler might be main eventing by the time Mike moves up the card. I would like to see this happen though because both guys have good skills that could be showcased in a great feud. Maybe some day.

Make Mcgillicutty Mr. Perfect 2.0 by having Mcgillicutty go on an undefeated streak and he can say that he is Perfect and that Ziggler is a cheap imitation, Mcgillicutty changes his name to Joe Hennig, and eventually wins the U.S. Title and holds it for a very long time

I would like to see this match when Joe/Mike steps his game up. Right now if this match was to happen it would be a squash match. It would be just like the Randy Orton vs Heath Slater match we seen on Raw. I wouldn't want to watch that happen. Right now Joe/Mike isn’t even on Dolph’s list as he gets insulted by Jerry Lawler whenever they are on TV. Maybe in a few years when Joe is a trillion times better in the ring and has shown he shares his father’s bloodline in his veins. Until this happens I don’t want to watch this match. If Joe/Mike improves then sure it’s worth a watch.

I would like to see this match when Joe ups his game, right now he can't stand toe to toe with Dolph. But when Joe has improved both in the ring and on the mic, I think we could see a pretty damn good storyline between the two. I think it would be great if Dolph won the World Title and Joe (then he would be upper mid-card or something) confronts him by saying something like "the only reason you're World Champion is because you're copying my dad" and then Dolph (better to be face) says something about taking some things from Mr. Perfect out of respect and then they can hae a nice storyline.
