Dolph Ziggler

"Cool Guy" Jensen

Undertaker for Champ!
Ok, so Dolph Ziggler has been with under WWE contract for about 5 years. He's had several gimmick changes also. He debuted in 2005 as Kerwin White's caddy and after Eddie Guerrero's death, Kerwin White came to his senses and went back to being Chavo Guerrero, causing Nick Nemeth to be left without a role and was sent back to developmental. A few months later in January 2006, he re-debuted as a male-cheerleader to form the five-man group, ''The Spirit Squad''. The group itself was very successful, but WWE felt that Kenny (Dykstra) was the only one with potential, while Johnny, Mitch, Nicky (Dolph), and Mikey were all sent back to developmental. After nearly two years, he debuted for the third time in a backstage segment, introducing himself as Dolph Ziggler. Shortly afterwards, he gets suspended for failing the Wellness Program. Now, he been back for a while, but is going back to developmental for more training.

Obviously, WWE cannot find the proper gimmick for him. I still can't tell if he is really that good in the ring. From what I remember, his finisher is just a ''Russian Leg Sweep''. So, do you think that Dolph Ziggler (with this same gimmick) can succeed in the WWE? Do you think that if WWE continues to change his gimmick, he gain success. Do you think that WWE will do nothing and just let him get wished the best in future endeavors? I want to know.

Put it this way, Ziggler stands no chance in Hell of seucceeding with his current gimmick. It's really a shame too since he has shown that he is quite a gifted athelete in the ring. But, all of the talent in the world won't get you over if you're stuck with a crappy gimmick. First of all, his name just screams "JOBBER." He is also cursed with a comedy gimmick and apparently only knows about five words. Very rarely do stupid gimmicks succeed in the long run. If WWE would give him a more suitable name nd let him act like a cocky heel but still allow him to talk, then he would stand a pretty damn good chance of being a top mid-carder

I seem to remember his first "official" match was with Batista, and I was really impressed with some of the stuff he did in the ring. For a rookie to get a good match out of Batista, he has to be pretty good!

He has charisma, but, at present, a LOUSY gimmick which doesn't have any depth whatsoever. He needs to start again with a new gimmick, perhaps not even a real gimmick, but, as JR always says, an "exaggerated version of himself".

You have got to be kidding me! Sure some of his other gimmics were just plain terrible, but thats not his fault. All you Kane & Undertaker marks remember Isac Yankem & Mean Mark!? He is not great in the ring, but hes far from terrible. In the matches we have seen as Dolf Zigler hes been pretty good. The problem is they just have not used him right with this gimmic. He Debuts promos for about a month & all he says is one thing. I think that was funny but he need to say more eventually. Then he loses his first match with freaking Batista. Why he debuts against Batista I will never know. Then they job him when Vince returns. This cocky arrogant kid all of a sudden clams up? Are they really trying to get this guy over. He does what they tell him to. I think hes doing it well. They just need to give him a chance with the mic. If he sucks with the mic maybe then ill give up on him.

I have to agree that this gimmick could work given the proper chance. WWE changes their mind too often. Dolph is talented and I could see a lot of potential there, I think he just wasn't used properly.

dolph ziggler
is a very good wrestler, he gave bastisa a run..
but idk y they holding him back so much
he is a very aggresive(spelling) wrestler with a lot of talent
i can say he is 1 of my favorites
why?..becuz he has skill
unlike john cena

if he gets drafted to ecw then i think he has a chance to be the next john morrison or jack swagger. if he stays on raw he will job out for a few more months then get let go

I would like them to move him to Smackdown and team him with Kendrick and Zeke. He would be a perfect compliment to them both and the three of them could go after the tag belts with any combination. He is athletic and his finisher isn't bad. Let him be "the natural" nic nemeth and team him with the brian kendrick to form a cocky heel team who's style would be athletic, something quite frankly we haven't seen

Yeah, I defintely agree that he would be well suited in a tag team with some other heel... and as I have mentioned before, think it should be a "big guy, little guy" team... there are plenty of big, powerful guys who are being used poorly right now IMO... I don't think that the "Dolph Ziggler" thing is the problem, I just think he gets thrown into the mix with too many guys on RAW who are getting pushed, and is being used as cannon fodder... put together a good tag-team gimmick with someone like DJ Gabriel (who needs to quit the dancing crap) and he would look good, as well as boost the tag division

I think what Ziggler needs is a switch to ECW, where he can have a little more freedom to build up his character a little more. With all of the starpower and other young men getting pushes on RAW and Smackdown, I think ECW is his best bet.

First of all, he needs more mic time. The "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler" thing is getting really stale, especially by this point. I think he would be good at playing the cocky young heel, and while he could begin every promo by introducting himself, he's only going to get over if he has a lot more to say.

The guy seems decent in the ring, but like others have pointed out, he really hasn't had that many actual matches. So it's still too early to tell how talented his ring skills are.

I personally like the gimmick and from what I've seen his ringwork is pretty impressive. Hopefully he get a chance to prove himself when Superstars starts and maybe move on from there.

ECW might be a good fit for Nemeth in the short term. I don't know, it's a little frightening seeing the FCW guys getting released left and right; I mean why even bother calling up Spears or Kizarny if they were just going to release them?

For those of you talking about his lack of matches, I can assure you as a frequenter to the FCW shows on Thursday Nights, I've watched him have a lot of good matches, and, in my opinion, he's the best wrestler they got. I think he should drop the porn-nazi gimmick, go back to "the Natural", and maybe stick him in a tag team with someone just as ridiculous as him (TBK, or Goldust maybe). At least get him a valet, or something. He's got a lot of potential, great comedic heel style wrestling, but they've got to give him something to work with, at least a one-on-one match against someone who won't just job him out.

FY- last I recalled in FCW he used Shelton Benjamin's faceplant as his finisher

I like Dolph and think he could be good if given the chance. His match with Batista was good and his annoying gimmick could help generate some heel heat for him. Hopefully he'll get a push after 'Mania and then people could really make up their minds on what tghey think of him.

For those who feel Dolph should have been sent down to ECW when it first started, we are in the same boat. When ECW first began, Dolph should have started down there. It puzzles me when the WWE decide to take unproven talent, and just throw them on RAW. Smackdown was on a lesser extent, but still the same thing was going on that show as well.

ECW would have been a perfect place for him to start off at. I understand that RAW, and SD are exposure. Nothing wrong with exposure, but week in and week out. This just won't work. Fans are fickle, and if you aren't mainstream enough it takes some time to gain heat. ECW should have been where his career takes off. RAW, and SD should have been his "reward" for being over in ECW. Until then, he just stays on ECW.

Keeping him off tv makes absolutely no sense. You are only slowly,b ut surely erasing him from most "mainstream" fans minds. The "C" show could have been a small progression for him. He has the look, and the wrestling abilities to make it. His gimmick isn't great now, but the WWE should have let it mature. Jumping from gimmick to gimmick doesn't leave to much room for entertainment, or maturity in character.

In OVW he was going by the name The Natural Nick Nemeth. This character wasn't that bad, and he used to have a bodyguard. Yes, we already have a star with a bodyguard with Kendrick/Zeke. However that is on SD, not ECW. The bodyguard gimmick isn't new, or original. Nemeth should have kept his bodyguard, and his old gimmick.

I agree that Dolph Ziggler should team with Brian Kendrick, I can see it now "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler" "Hi I'm THE Brian Kendrick"...

I don't see why he can't stick with this gimmick and evolve down the line to drop the comedy element and just be straight up cocky. Its been done before. Even if he was still a comedic character, he could still be successful, Kurt Angle was always a comedic wrestler in WWE. I'm not saying Dolph is the next Kurt Angle, but you get my drift...

I like Dolph Ziggler. Pretty cool to me. Maybe soon let him say more then Hi I'm Dolph Ziggler or any other form of that because he has been known to say a few other things that just leads to him saying he is Dolph Ziggler. His match with Batista was good IMO. I loved that kick he did on Batista. If given the right amount of time he could be a real good upper mid carder and maybe IC or US Champion one day.

No, I didn't say that he should tag up with Kendrick. Dolph should come out on RAW, and announce that the world tag team titles are going to be unified. Then go on to say that he is in search for a tag team partner. He then guarantees that he, and his new partner will become the first ever undisputed tag team champions of the world. Perhaps his partner should be Jack Swagger. Those two would make a solid team, and I think their styles would mesh well.

I do feel that Ziggler should change his look. His look is a bit bland. Ziggler should elaborate on his where abouts being from Hollywood Calif. Perhaps a nickname of sorts, like "The Original Hollywood Blonde" Dolph, or even "The King of California". Even the attire can use some work. Get with something more unique. He took a blast to the past with his current look that he has now.

There is potential with this guy. He has the look, and his wrestling ability is solid. The WWE just needs to have the direction for him thats all. Teaming him with Swagger could also help him out of sorts. Swagger seems to get some quality air time. Moving on to the tag team rankings could be in Swaggers future.

Well the reason they do that to FCW guys is because they have been there long and they get thrown in the deep end either sink or swim.

I Don't watch FCW and i have only seen his match against Batista and tag match he was in he seemed pretty good and his Gimmick just needs to be changed a little into maybe psycho as maybe that's why he always says "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler" and well a tag team would suit him only if he was the coward sort of like TBK and Ezekiel Jackson but they would be more of a tag like for instance if he was in a tag team with Mark Henry, Henry could dominate were he would put in some effort but mostly just take credit for a win or get a cheap shot in on the opponents as this would draw him heaps of heat and being very cocky on the mic would be good.

Three letters... ECW.

This is where Dolph Ziggler needs to be. I actually find his gimmick quite amusing, and his in-ring talents certainly capable. But I knew as soon as he debuted against Batista that he would be thrown under the bus.

Here's the issue. Where is he supposed to succeed on Raw where you have an incredibly deep pool of main-event guys such as Cena, Batista, Orton, HBK, Jericho, JBL, Kane, Mysterio, & Punk? Heck, even when Kane's been putting people over, the only guys WWE has had him put over on Raw are the likes of the other main-eventers. JBL seems to lose nearly every match, yet, only to other main-eventers and etc.

So, that's the problem. Put Dolph Ziggler on ECW and actually give ECW a little more face talent for him to feud with and it could be good.
