Erm, no. Book had been doing the move since at least '99. It's one of the facets that made his feud with The Rock interesting. There's a segment where Book is going to Book End Rocky through the table and J.R. goes 'It's the Rock Bottom', shortly followed by Heyman saying 'Rock Bottom? That's the Book End'.

As for the article, Punk had used that move way back as a set up for the Vise. Vinny Mac keeps Michael Cole on a very tight leash. You'd better believe that if he intended for that to be a signal to The Rock, Cole would have stressed the fuck out of it when it happened.

What a monumental fuck up by Cole! If CM Punk punched him in his fat face after RAW went off the air, I wouldn't blame him in the least. You don't screw with the build up to someone's program with the friggin' Rock!!
