**MERGED** What To Do With Zack Ryder

#hamler

That's all folks.
Ah Zack Ryder. The IWC's favorite lower carder.

Ah John Cena. The IWC's most hated superstar.

Over the past few weeks, John Cena has mentioned Zack Ryder and his Youtube episodes an awful lot through Twitter. We have witnessed a few cameo appearances from Zack Ryder on RAW. Nothing too lengthy but enough to get his face on television. Everytime he apears, he's usually talking to John Cena who is obviously top dog on RAW.

I don't have much to say here so I'll get straight to the questions. Do you believe there is a deeper meaning here? Could Zack Ryder finally be getting a decent push? Or is the WWE simply giving the people what and who they want? Am I looking too deep into this?

Yep, too in to deep for this, but hey it's part of the comedic piece. "Zack Ryder = ratings? Okay let's get him 7 seconds on television!"

Idk, maybe the WWE is testing the waters gradually with Ryder. Maybe something's going to happen down the line with him teaming with Hawkins. I can kinda seeing them becoming a comedy team that's fun to watch. Kinda like what Edge & Christian were.

I think they're definitely playing with the buzz his youtube show is getting. But a push? If he were getting a push, they wouldn't be jobbing him out to Santino on Superstars in a tag match.

I don't think you are looking too much into it. As a matter of fact seeing as they are obviously friends, Cena could very well have put in a word to Vince to get Long Island Iced Z some tv time. I definitely think there is something to it. Why else would they do it? They aren't giving Zach any matches. I definitely think its a friendship deal. We know there is backstage politics. So who is to say that Cena isn't using a little just for 2 seconds. I mean they are Cenas programs, maybe he just doesnt mind and is helping a friend. I don't think its that far from the realm of possibility.

There is a possibility that Ryder is getting what I like to call a Silent push. Maybe he and Cena hung out and Cena Put in a good word for him. I'm hoping good will follow, he has what the WWE needs right now. Funny, Corny yet entertaining I can't see why he wouldn't be in the spotlight maybe they're expecting loud backstage pop.

I also think they just want to see what kind of reaction Ryder gets when they flash his face. Dont be surprised if you see him job to Mason Ryan or Big Show just so WWE can get a jist of the reaction.

People seem to think WWE doesn't give the OK to all of Zachs youtube videos before he posts them..... Its kind of obvious by now that all of his videos are ok with the WWE and they whats going to be said in them before they get posted. They are getting all of these internet fans to like Ryder because hes "doing his own thing" and getting himself over "outside" of the WWE when really its all one big work on the IWC.

You really think WWE would let someone under their payroll go online and post videos saying the company is dropping the ball with him or saying how he draws money and they don't understand that.... With all of the backstage politics and just general knowledge about what not to do/say about your employer. If the WWE really didn't care about him like people seem to think he would of been fired after his like 3rd YouTube video and would not of made it to #13.

They have him doing these shows to get people behind him without using up TV time to push him. Then they give him these little like 10 second appearances on TV to add fuel to the IWC fire so they get behind him even more.

As for people saying this is not setting up for a push because he wouldn't be jobbing then, a lot of big pushes come off of long losing streaks, thats how you get some good pushes setup. Have the guy losing and not being seen then when he starts winning again everyone is behind him.

its just another stupid way of wwe trying to get more audience. they showed ryder tonight with a laptop acting like hes making his youtube show. in no way do i see this being the start of a push or even one match on raw. maybe he does have a friendship with cena and maybe cena did ask for airtime for ryder..but since wwe doesnt seem to want to do anything with him vince was like heres your airtime now leave me alone

I think you are looking into it a bit deep Hams. Remember that black backstage guy that always appeared on screen when Cena would be walking around backstage? Well it seems they've replaced that guy with Zack Ryder. This is pretty much the WWE throwing the IWC a bone. We want to see Zack Ryder, well here he is. Like I said in the LD, I love Ryder and I'd love to see him pushed, but if he appears that warrants enough for me. Ryder is entertaining as hell so he makes it worthwhile the little he appears.

It wouldn't surprise me if we continue to see Ryder and Cena backstage segments, but I doubt anything comes from it. Ryder gets his time in the sun and Cena doesn't lose any credibility. It is pretty much a win-win and something Ryder marks will continue to look forward to.

I hope Ryder doesn't get a push. He's not funny, he's charismatic but for all the wrong reasons and his whole catch phrase and Jersey Shore character is just plain stupid. No wonder kids like him. And if you aren't a kid and like him than that's just sad.

As for the whole backstage thing well I have nothing to say about it. He got his airtime now go away. You're boring Ryder.

While i am definately not a fan of ryder, i do think that something is brewing here. I think it will slowly turn into what mickie james and trish stratus had. not so much down the homosexual path, but definately the fan path. i think ryder will try to buddy up more and more till he feels that cena turned on him. i dont think that it will lead to anything big, but it may serve something along the lines of him screwing cena out of the title and aligning with cena's enemy.

i highly doubt that its the WWE doing anything of the sort.... I think that Cena gets Ryder involved in these backstage segments because they are friends... A "push" is when someone is shown continually in matches going over on someone else... this is just a few short segments showing Zack either fist bumping or in todays case, working on his computer..

They are funny segments that will hopefully build to something (Anyone else remember the Dolph Ziggler early promo's where he just introduced himself over and over to everyone?!?!)

If not I get a kick outta waiting for Zack to appear and wondering what he'll be doing.... That and I also love counting the Ryder signs in the audience (Saw 4-5 today on raw alone..)

im really liking Zach being shown more and more ...and well if its in Cena's light that can only be good right ? soo what happens down the line maybe a few tag matches with Cena few wins mini pops .. id love to see them build him up as a comedy but mean ass character in the ring winning matches on his own but still havin fun

I like the mini Zach Ryder/John Cena segments. It seems that Cena is pushing to get Ryder some TV time which I think is awesome. It's funny because as much as Cena gets criticized, he's actually doing a good thing by sharing a little bit of his spotlight with someone who doesn't get as much or none at all. I applaud Cena and the WWE.

Maybe they are trying out a potential Zack Ryder face turn, i have not seen him in action since superstars went online so i do not know for sure if he is still acting like a heel. Or it was for a one second comedic gag.

It just seems like Cena is using a bit of his pull to get Ryder on TV. He's always talking him up on Twitter and plugging his show. He knows that Zack has a lot of fans on the internet so he's throwing them a bone. Cena is definitely a bit more in touch with the fan base than the creative team is, so it seems as if he's trying to get them on his side by getting one of their darlings on TV for a second here and there.

I don't think anything will come of this though. They'll throw him a bone now and then by letting him be seen with Cena, but I doubt they'll actually allow it to go further. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a squash match or something in the future, just to see what kind of reaction he gets. But it won't have anything to do with Cena.

I think that is the real quandry, because on Superstars he goes up against guys like Borne, or Santino and Kozlov. He does heel type tactics it seems and he's not really a face, people just like him. If he is matched up with Cena for some reason, he will have to go through some type of face turn.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves and declare this the beginning of a push or anything. It's well documented Cena and Ryder are very good friends and it takes 5 minutes for Cena to get Ryder some 10 second air-time on TV. It really isn't a big deal, I think we're looking too much into this

WWE are taking notice of Zack Ryder by giving him...7 seconds of air time on RAW, with no dialogue what-so-ever. I think you'll have to do better than that WWE to appease the WWE Universe.

Would be nice but I really don't think anything huge will come out of this. I mean, while I've taken a liking to Zack Ryder ever since his work during the last few months of WWECW I don't see this resulting in some sort of mega push. I mean, he's only being featured for about seven seconds with absolutely no talking time. Being a Ryder fan, I would LOVE for Ryder to get a push but I can't help but think this is nothing more than Ryder getting a few seconds of air time... and that's about it. I've read reports about Ryder being set for a push in the near future due to his Youtube vids but I never take dirtsheets seriously. I'll believe it when I see it.

I bet you all we see a Tag Team match of Cena/Ryder Vs Miz/Rielly very soon. Its so obvious its going to happen. How can none of you see this?

Jomo's dead, rey is busy...and well there is no other faces on raw worth mentioning. Cena isnt going to waste his time tagging with santino so that leaves Ryder. Ryder is slowly getting his push. They are friends and cena will need a tag partner in the upcoming weeks. Zack begs for it and cena says okay why not? Zack gets to show his stuff. Win/Win.

I think John Cena is still pitching Ryder to management, and we know HHH knows what hes capable of. Still dont like the fact hes a sorta Heel in ring though...

The WWE can't ignore that Zack Ryder is potentially the next big thing..All he has going for him is a little show on youtube in his front room and he's getting millions of views...put him on raw and he'll boost ratings for sure. His close friendship with Cena is an easy way of Wwe to introduce him back into regular raw shows, Ryder could be Cena's A-Ry....or they could form a tag team

Sorry if the post is in the wrong place but I just want to see other peoples thoughts on this so here we go:

OK so as you all know that the WWE is really considering bringing back the manager gimmick to help elevate heels. So it got me thinking that with Edge retired from ring action and Hawkins and Ryder coming together why not Edge be their manager. He can take them to the WWE tag team championship and maybe even help push Ryder even more by him proclaiming Hawkins the next Edge and him and Hawkins beat him down only to come back and take them out and finally getting the right push he deserves and after the feud they both go their separate ways. Edge managing Hawkins and Ryder going on his own....your thoughts?
