*Merged* General WWE Releases Wrestlers' Discussion

So let me get this straight. They have released: Luke Gallows, Caylen Croft, Shad Gaspard, Vance Archer, Tiffany, and Jillian. Oh and a referee. Well lets all say goodbye to Yoshi Tatsu, JTG, Darren Young, Micheal Tarver, Skip Sheffield, Joey Mercury, Rosa Mendes, and I think they will cut the other half of The DudeBusters in Trent Baretta, and the other half of The GateCrashers in Curt Hawkins. I think Vince is dumb by cutting the legit tag teams in The DudeBusters and The GateCrashers. Also Shad Gaspard, while he was no demon like heel, he could be a big heel for the WWE. Vince dropped the ball on the tag teams and Shad.

Shad Gaspard

-Luke Gallows

-Jillian Hall

-Tiffany

-Caylen Croft

-Vance Archer

Not really surprised here at any of these names. I would have thought that these guys would have been released a lot sooner. Croft and Archer never clicked and Tiffany is horrible in the ring. Jillian isn't bad, but she hasn't been used for anything recently but a lame knockoff of Britney Spears..

Once Straight Edge Society broke up there wasn't any real need for Gallows any more. I'm surprised Shad stayed on as long as he did. He is a big guy but horrible in the ring and on the mic. Just another wrestler that suffers from odd big man complex. There is a lot more talent that isn't being used now. Wouldn't be surprised to see the injured Nexus players get the boot in the next few months.

Yoshi tatsu isnt going anywhere i promise you that. For one they used him just last monday only for a second or 2 but still. Number 2 there doing a series on Tatsu going to Japan to promote SD VS RAW 2011. And they are also giving him a slight push on Superstars as last night he pulled out his second win in the last 2 weeks.

I think if my name was Trent Baretta, Curt Hawkins, Joey Mercury, Yoshi Tatsu, JTG, or Rosa Mendez, I'd be checking my call display today before answering the phone. And I'd probably be checking out employment agencies as well, because you have to think that the writing is on the wall for several if not all of these guys.

Shad Gaspard is no real loss with all due respect to the man. A big man but unskilled as a wrestler with zero charisma. And without him, the invisible JTG has no role anymore.

Straight Edge Society is clearly over. Hardly reeks of job security for Joey Mercury . Because I don't see him doing much without a group, a faction, or even a tag team partner.

Curt Hawkins, same deal. Going nowhere solo. Ditto for Trent Baretta.

I wouldn't be surprised to see lots of the remnants of NXT from the various seasons cut loose too. The Nexus guys not currently in use could be in jeopardy (Young, Tarver, Sheffield). Anyone not involved from Seasons 2 or 3 have one leg out the door.

Finally, I wouldn't be shocked to see Zack Ryder of Gail Kim released in the very near future as well. I just don't see any future for these people, and if WWE are trimming the fat as it appears they are, I think these two are in serious jeopardy as well.

So let me get this straight. They have released: Luke Gallows, Caylen Croft, Shad Gaspard, Vance Archer, Tiffany, and Jillian.

True.

Well lets all say goodbye to Yoshi Tatsu,

Negative, he gets TV time, which the others didn't.

JTG, Darren Young,

Possibly.

Micheal Tarver, Skip Sheffield,

Doubtful. If they were cutting Skip they'd have done so by now. Tarver will be back on TV in a couple of weeks.

Joey Mercury,

I doubt it. WWE Picked him up for a reason, and he can always feud/team with former partner Morrison when he comes back.

Rosa Mendes,

Possibly.

and I think they will cut the other half of The DudeBusters in Trent Baretta, and the other half of The GateCrashers in Curt Hawkins.

Negative. They get TV time, and are having some fairly good matches on Superstars. Also, the Gatecrashers broke up weeks ago.

[quoteI think Vince is dumb by cutting the legit tag teams in The DudeBusters and The GateCrashers.[/quote]

Not really. The Dudebusters were never going anywhere, and Barretta and Hawkins were simply miles better than the guys they were teaming with. THey'll never be big stars, but the world needs midcarders. And then there's the fact that tag team wrestling doesn't draw.

Also Shad Gaspard, while he was no demon like heel, he could be a big heel for the WWE.

He could be if he wasn't shit on the mic and in the ring.

Vince dropped the ball on the tag teams and Shad.

Not at all. Vince has dropped many balls in his life. This isn't one of them.

They will not release the injured Nexus members. What happened to Sheffield was an accident and I think that the E realized his potential. Tarver is decent on the mic and is a good worker.

Mercury is also injured and is a decent wrestler but due to his injury can't really show it. He will be back. You will not be seeing more released than the ones they did today. If anything, Sheff and Tarver will go back to FCW but I really hope they keep Sheff. I compare him to a country boy's Goldberg.

So, which of these guys will we see in TNA in February? :)

I kid, I kid. Kinda. None of these wrestlers were being used, and if you aren't being used, you can expect that you're going to be released. Not a knock against any of the released performers today.

So WWE breaks up another tag team (Croft and Barretta) The crowd actually responded to these guys so its kind of strange they released one half. Shad wasnt doing anything for me and the thug gimmick wasnt working for him. Luke Gallows might go to TNA because I think his partner Jesse was released awhile ago so maybe they can form a team in TNA.

I personally think JTG is next he dances like and idiot and cant even get a response from the crowd.

Shad Gaspar: Really? I thought he was already released. Or atleast he should've been. AWFUL in-ring talent and just looks stupid. Seriously tho, they wasted a DLC on SvR 2011 for his alt attire?! Who gives a flip.

Luke Gallows: I'm on the fence with this. He was really looking to be getting into good shape lately and I enjoyed watching him as part of the SES/Punk's bodyguard. He was almost becoming a slightly less talented version of Deisel. He'll probably end up in TNA and reunite with Jessie tho lol

Jillian Hall: Her tits were the only good thing about her. Her face looks like someone smashed it with a 2x4 now because of all that plastic surgery and her in-ring work isn't all tha great. I couldn't stand the singing gimmick and wasn't she sent to FCW anyways to become a "trainer"? Again, who cares.

Tiffany: I was honestly waiting for this to happen after the incident with Drew. She wasn't great in the ring but she was hot plus she was at one point the GM of ECW! I can see her getting rehired tho in the near-future (Drew asking for her job back). either that or a divorce is on the way lol

Caylen Croft: This one I was like WTF?! The Dudebusters were seriously becoming one of my favourite teams in the WWE (Out of the huge selection...cough) He honestly must have screwed something up because I just don't get why he was cut. I honestly saw the Dudebusters as the potential next Edge/Christian. Hopefully Barretta (who i liked more anyways) won't get cut and will hopefully team with Hawkins. (Let's face it, Hawkins is born to tag team)

Vance Archer: He wasn't bad but he wasn't good. I honestly liked him more in TNA. Who cares...

Would have been nice if they kept Cryme Time together, but they don't see tag teams as important...could be interesting to see what he does in the indies.

It's releasing time and not a one of these guys draw a fucking dime or really have the potential. Honestly do you know anyone who would pay money to see the WWE to see any of them, I think not. Jobbers

Shad- Not a big loss IMO, he was a big guy but his in-ring was okay and his mic skills were horrible. Plenty of better wrestlers currently in WWE.

Luke Gallows - He could have had some potential but honestly, who does this surprise? WWE wasn't going to utilize him anyways. If he stayed then he would be jobbing every other week on Superstars and not be going anywhere.

Jillian - Not really a big loss but I thought she was going to be a trainer down in FCW so I'm surprised she got released.

Tiffany - She wasn't already released? Not really a loss at all, most people figured that this was going or already happened anyways.

Caylen Croft - The Dudebusters have been growing on me but they haven't been on TV enough to see their true potential. I'm kind of surprised Trent Barreta wasn't released, I always say Caylen as the better of the two.

Vance Archer - Not really a surprise. His in-ring ability wasn't amazing and his mic skills are nonexistent. His previous tag team stunt was going no where.

I already said what I thought about Shad, let's get the others:

Caylen Croft: He's the one I'm most surprised about. I liked the Dudebusters and thought they both have/had potential. He'll reappear somewhere, I'm sure, and I hope this doesn't mean the writing is on the wall for Baretta as well.

Luke Gallows: I feel bad for the guy. He has clearly worked to up his game, and I personally think he could easily be a solid midcard muscle guy. I hope we see him again as I liked him. This was definitely a case of him not having anything to do after the SES broke up, and no one knew what to do with him.

Vance Archer: Good riddance. Generic big guy with ******ed tattoos. His mic skills are bland, his in-ring work is pretty generic, and just wasn't worth a roster spot. I don't even know if TNA will take him back at this point.

Tiffany: Another set of T&A. Didn't really care too much about her, hopefully this leads to us seeing her naked some more because I don't really care to see her wrestling anymore.

Jillian: Thought she was going to be a trainer in FCW, but I guess they realized that wrestling skills are pretty unnecessary in WWE. She's a pretty talented wrestler, however, and I wouldn't be surprised if she joined Serena in SHIMMER.

Ok everyone is giving reviews so here's mine.

Caylen Croft: Honestly i'm really surprised they released hin the dudebusters were growing on me and I thought they would be future contenders but they of course would go with Santino and Koslov.

Luke Gallows: Did not have much potential ahead for him after S.E.S died off and he was constantly relying on a team to stay together (Cm Punk, Jesse). Like Thriller said no one knew what to do with him after S.E.S broke up.

Vance Archer: He sucked in my opinion. I have not seen him much maybe about 3 times but pretty much all I know him for is Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 as a late replacement.

Tiffany: I'm on the edge for this one. I kind of figured since the incident a while back but thought she would stay since she's married to Drew. But I honestly think they dropped the ball again.

Jillian: 2 word THANK GOD. She is absolutely horrible with her gimmick and I can't stand her. Her wrestling ability is not bad though but the gimmick ruins it.

By the way people saying Skip Sheffield is going to get released are blind. He is great talent and like someone said before he reminds me of Goldberg. His wrestling ability is great and they won't release him because of an injury although these are the people who released rvd, Mr anderson(kennedy),jeff hardy(i think he wanted to leave though)and etc.....

every year i get dissapointed with wwe, all because of them releasing great stars and making terrible mistakes.

Last years releases were:

Mickie james-- every one was suprised

shelton benjamin-- he was the one making all those highlights at WM's MITB

Maria-- she had ok talent and could of done great

katie lea-- some would argue

slam master J-- you probobly dont even remember him, bad talent

jimmy wang yang --we saw it coming

kung fu naki -- same thing with jimmy wang, i feel bad for naki`s career

mike knox --he could of done a great job, wwe let him loose to early

paul burchil -- very great heel

and now this year:

shad gaspard --i think they didnt give him a chance as a single player

luke gallows --didnt give him a chance

jillian hall -- her time was up

vance archer -- i thought he could of made a mark

caylen croft-- dude busters had talent, they were the only ones i watched on superstars

i wish i could go to wwe and slap them silly. some of them it looks like they didnt even think about them.

About Jillian, It's highly possible that she was released of a "Wrestling" Contract, so she can be free to help out down in FCW. She was arguably one of the better Diva's, and drew the best heat, second to Vickie, for Diva's in an awful long time. I actually loved her singing gimmick, as she was one of the few Diva's with a gimmick and personality.

So yeah, I say Jillian will still be around FCW, but she has been released from wrestling duties

I am wondering why they released Craylon Croft and not Trent Borretta along with him? Maybe they saw something in him and not Croft? I am interested to see if they will do anything with Trent.

Well the AXE just keeps coming down,
Slicing talent to pieces,
Can't you imagine the poor guys and gals biting their nails to the nub?,
I sure can, and I feel bad,
SOOOOO,
I'm going to take the role as the fairy godmother,
and (If I can and care enough too) give the stars something to work with so they don't get CUT:

Daren Young: Never did anything for me

Gail Kim: Turn her heel after Beth.P defeats Lay-Cool upon her return, and have them go into a nice lengthy feud

Michael Tarver/Primo: Yeah, I've got nothing

Yoshi : I've actually been waiting for this

Zack Ryder: Send him to Smackdown to be like the ultimate Edge-Head (Edge's sidekick),
These two had some pretty funny times on RAW before Edge was drafted. OR have him become a MIZ follower leading to a feud w/ ARI - Good matches, Good Promos, You do the math

Curt Hawkins/JTG: Have these two form there own tag-team, What?

Joey Mercury: The bald head just kills him, sorry guy

Rosa Mendes: See Yoshi

Trent Barreta: Good Bye

So,
If you could and cared too,
Who would you wave your magic wand on?
What gimmick/storyline would you give them?

A bunch of releases and more expected shortly combined with the rumor of all the titles unifying by Wrestlemania. I also read rumors in the past couple months ( at least I thought I did) about USA wanting RAW to be 3 hours. Is it possible this is the precursor to the end of the Brand Split? They are destroying tag teams almost weekly. Maybe they have plans to start combining random guys as tag teams.

Sad to see Archer go. I think he is really talented and definatly better than Chavo and "the next HBK" Hawkins.

Bunch of jobbers who most people do not even care for. Just trimming the fat. I guess they are going to do away with the Superstars show, id they have not already. I do not think any one even cares about it other than the jobbers themselves.

Spring cleaning, trimming the fat, termination spree... whatever you want to call it, the WWE is finally making the much needed talent cuts from the roster so they can free up some spots on their pay role for areas that are much more deserving. Maybe even a pay-rise for those that are performing well? Honestly, having these particular guys getting the boot would be considered either smart or fair calls by management.

Caylen Croft: The only thing going for him is being apart of the Dudebusters. Whilst their personality started to grow on people and were one of the only tag teams left, Croft's efforts on the team were overshadowed by the much more talented Trent Baretta. He's got a better look, more charisma and his in-ring ability is on a much higher level. They can use Baretta more than they can Croft. Good cut.

Shad Gaspard: Pretty much similar to Croft, though his efforts in Cryme Tyme were much more noticeable. Once they split up CT, he didn't know how to cope under a new gimmick and showed that without JTG, he's not the wrestler he once was. I'm surprised they kept him for so long.

Luke Gallows: This guy was a talent for a person his size. He showed he could play any role and perform solidly. He was quite over as Festus and did some good heel work as Gallows... and the best thing was, he could work with someone smaller or larger than his size and make it believable. In the spectrum of things, probably the worst release they've done thus far but, in the same token, there are other guys on the roster who are more useful than Gallows.

Vance Archer - While he was okay in the ring, he could never get over. He had fuck all charisma and wasn't going anywhere in the WWE style of professional wrestling. He tried a solo act in ECW and a tag team run in SD... nothing. So, good move.

Tiffany - Although she was improving in her skills as a wrestler, after the whole beating up on Drew thing I didn't expect to see her come back to the E. There are much better diva's on the entire roster so he services really weren't needed. Another good move.

Jillian - I hope Burnout is right about this... she is getting a release from her wrestling contract so she can become an trainer for FCW because she has some pretty good skills. She is one of the better mic workers to grace the diva's division and knew how to draw heat, something she could teach the new girls as it is sickening to see all those girls with no charisma.

I expect to see more names appear on the dirt sheets soon as the WWE has WAY too many talents on its roster, especially with the guys that they have waiting in FCW to be called up onto the main roster (and when the Nexus does disband, they've got a lot of people to inject into the roster).

Just read on the releases, saw them coming, but didn't really expect this many at one time, cause they usually do the majority of the cuts in January....But Anywhooo.

Shad Gaspard Was a nice sized guy but a less quality big man. Cryme Tyme was a great team that had lots of charisma, cut great promos, and that was highly enjoyed by the fans. But the WWE failure to revamp the Tag Team Division is what caused Him, Luke Gallows, and Caylen Croft their Jobs. Feel real bad for Shad cause he was a big name, but when they merged him into singles action he had a match on smackdown, superstars, and a Strapmatch against JTG, and then he was gone. But Shad sucked in Singles Competition, that was why JTG got most of the ring time in Tag Team Matches, and wrestled more single matches than Shad when they were a team. But I feel bad for Shad losing his job due to the WWE lack of quality to the Tag Team Division. If the WWE can dedicate more time into the tag team division, or make tag team wrestling into what it used to be, many wrestlers won't be losing jobs and creative don't have to struggle to put two guys together to make a formidable team.

Luke Gallows- Same as Shad. The only thing though, is that this was just a point after SES the WWE had nothing for him....Well ok, let him work Superstars Tappings. But the move from Festus to SES was a good move, but The move didn't impact him as much as I thought it would. The SES was like today's version of Right to Censor, but a bit more powerful, and supposed to be the most powerful faction on Smackdown due to CM Punk estabkishing his role as top heel on smackdown. But he basically played a background role and it led to the diminishing of SES. But ever since they split Jesse and Festus, his career wasn't never the same. Although the gimmick was entertaining but yet offensive, I liked Festus, and the crowd was into Festus. And Festus wrestled more intense, aggressively, and a bit better than he did as Gallows. Gallows too fell victim b/c of WWE spliting up the team for no reason and for failure to revamp tag team wrestling.

Both these men careers were with Tag Team Wrestling and broke up with their teams suddenly and for no appearant reason and really wasn't their fault. So as for Gallows, there lies the face of a man who just been released. And as for Shad, find another job so u can once again lead us in that Hustler's Anthem, MONEY MONEY YEAH YEAH!!!!

Now Archer, Croft and the Divas, don't care for them, but I care for that
MONEY MONEY YEAH YEAH!!!!

Not surprised by any of these releases as wwe creative has had nothing for them. Killing the straight edge society took away everything Gallows was involved in. As for Jillian Hall all I can is............FINALLLLLLLLLLLLY someone has shut her up!! Don't have to hear her annoying singing anymore!

It's not like they released someone important, so it's not much of a big deal here.

The only ones who kinda matter are Caylen Croft and Vance Archer. Why? Because Croft and Barretta were one of the last and greatest teams in this PG era.
As for Archer, the dude had potential but I believe the reason for his release possibly had something to do with the tramp stamp and the PG era. PG and Tramp Stamps don't mix.
