When he said, "What's he saying? Get Crunk? Whatever." on RAW Monday, he won me over. Even though he still SOUNDS like a face announcer, his dialogue is heel. I think for me, most of the time, he's more funny heel than full-on asshole heel. That's why I like it - it's something new. One thing I wish he would stop is that annoying, "Ladies and Gentlemen, you are watching Monday Night RAW, we are live from.." that shit pisses me off so much. But other than that, I have to agree with you. He has gotten much better.

Fella's i reckon he's much better than matt striker and his commentary is ok a little over the top sometimes but put downs are funny as and i loved the summerslam one when byran was wrestling and cole's like you could have had the Miz out here but oh no you had to change it that cracked me up

I've always quite liked Michael Cole (seem to be in the minority there...) and his recent work has had me in stitches. I love his Daniel Bryan rants and I liked his interaction with Jericho this past week too. As a side note, his recent dancing on NXT was fucking hilarious. I feel that Michael Cole is finally coming into his own and showing some of the personality that Cole - I think - actually has in abundance. I just think he's been living in JR's shadow and obviously he's gonna be compared to the greatest announcer in history period. Especially since 2008 when he took over from JR on RAW but he's not JR, he's Michael "Vintage" Cole and I for one am indeed loving his work.

This Michael Cole that has been doing the GM Email Reading, the Daniel Bryan Ranting, and the heelish commentating I like...the old Michael Cole was bland, boring, and without personality. I really hope they run with Cole as a heel commentator for a long time, especially since Lawler is more of a face commentator. I'd like to see, if Cole is not the GM, him having some sort of alliance with the GM, like the GM has been impressed with his loyalty to the GM's request of Cole reading his/her emails. Maybe when the GM is revealed, Cole can be sort of a kissass to him/her and do some of their bidding...

I guess everyone has a different opinion. Personally I think Cole is a mistake for raw. the crowds do not like him. He keeps repeating the same thing every week. Longest running show in history. By now i think the WWE universe knows Raw is the bomb. We don't need Cole to remind us every week. Every time Sheamus comes out we hear from cole 'first irish born WWE champion' The writers seem to have so little for him to say that he has to say the same things every week. If it wern't for the King i'd watch Raw muted.

He has a job to do and he has started to think he is better then others, look at NXT with Daniel Bryan. He's doing the whole heel thing but the way he goes about it is more personal then it seems it was ment to be. Personally I'd rather listen to Dixie Carter go on about crap that means nothing to the wrestling world.

Cole walking out on a show was bad even if it was staged. Cole needs to be removed from the table and go back to running the website. He has no talent and for the first time in months i cheered on Jericho when he told Cole to shut his mouth and read the email. by now most fans have notices coles hand, atleast one is always hidden when the camera is on him and the gm chimes in. He presses a button.

I'm not sure what WWE is doing with Cole but I swear they are turning him into the new Bobby Heenan. I really hope they are not. Bobby Heenan was a master at the bad guy announcer. Cole does not know what he is doing when it comes to that. if WWE did that they would spit in the face of Bobby Heenan.

As for Cole in JR's shadow. He has no right to even be in that shadow. He's no where near as good as JR, He never will be.

Thats my rant on Cole. I'd want to post afew things for WZ and one would be a thing on Michael Cole and trust me it would be worse then this post.

I guess I disagree with a group. I feel like Cole is trying WAY too hard to be a heel. Everything sounds too forced and like he is only saying it to build heat, not because he believes it. When former heel announcers would make heel comments I would believe them because they had reasons behind it and their comments seemed so natural. Cole just suddenly one day decided he liked the Miz and has been completely hanging on him 100% since then. I was really confused when he suddenly started hating on R-Truth and repeatedly saying "we get it!" during his entrance. Gonging NXT was funny, but I don't get why WWE would completely kill their show just to build up the heel character of Michael Cole.

I don't buy Cole as a heel, I guess he is just too geeky for me to see him as a "cool geek" as it was said before.

I like Michael Cole, he's funny. He does mess up alot but who cares, i dont take it that literal. But ya he is the only reason besides getting to look at Aksana and Kaitlyn that i even watch NXT 3. I used to just wanna turn into NXT 1 just to hear him crap on Daniel Bryan. Cuz just like him I cant stand the guy, and i love hearing him crap on him.

I think Coles great. Its a breath of fresh air from Jim Ross. I've also grown too enjoy King alot more. He seems more toned down with Cole. The whole computer GM would not work with JR. His work with Jericho this past monday night was hilarious. I dont think JR would have made it as memorable as Cole.

I find this new "Heel" Michael Cole to be nothing more than stupid and annoying. He's not clever, he's not creative, he's not even remotely entertaining. I much prefer the bland Michael Cole that we all know.
On the up-side, I guess now people might actually hear and care about what he says..?

Pretty much this. While Cole can be annoying at times, it's a real nice change of pace from hearing him and King kiss the face's asses week in and week out. Also, I really enjoyed hearing him go back and forth with the Heart Dynasty last night, times like that are when I can actually enjoy Cole's commentary.

Entertaining? Entertaining???? Are you kidding me? Hearing Cole acting like a Jackass had the same effect that Vickie Guererro has on me. It has me reaching for the mute button on the remote. Why do I seem to be the only one that was doing just fine with not having a heel and face announcer going back and forth? I was fine with the two guys just calling the match. i personally feel the Heel and Face announcer combo is dead and tired. Just call the stupid match. Cole needs to either do that or keep his trap shut because I don't give a rat's ass about him. And hearing him flap his gums and trying to be a heel to me is more painful than hearing him normally. I can't believe I'm actually missing the days where we had Mike Adamle. I used to think Cole was only good because he had Taz for a partner. Now I think that all Taz did was mask how terrible Cole is. Only reasons Michael Cole has a job is because Joey Styles and Jim Ross didn't want it anymore. He didn't get all this cause he's good. It's because there was nobody else left. He was bland and boring before, but at least he knew that we didn't tune in to see his sorry ass. Now, he's annoying, painful, not entertaining, and just plain pathetic. He needs to do what he did on NXT and just go away. I'm actually looking forward to NXT tomorrow because he won't be there and whoever they get instead of Cole, is gonna be a lot less painful to me than him.

I've really been digging Cole's commentary recently I've never thought I'd say that but hey Cole went from this announcer who's been rooting for faces the last 10 years and more and now Cole's a complete jackass and I love it. Cole's commentary is new and refreshing rather than hearing him and King agree on everything. I laughed my ass off when Cole told Tyson that he should check Cody Rhodes grooming tips for his hair.

My point when I mentioned Vickie is that some heels are great at drawing heat and some are good at it to the point it's drawing the kind of heat you don't want. You want an example? How about when Regal was on that power trip and stopped matches, cut out the lights, etc. That was drawing heat but definitely not the kind of heat that should be generated. You want to know the difference between what Cole is doing now and what Lawler did when he was the heel? Lawler was actually funny

After such a long time of having tweener commentators, I think it is a shock to our systems to have a heel commentator again.

Michael Cole is doing a great job of getting under our skin and people legitimately hate him. Not because his skills as a commentator are that poor. It is mainly because of his ignorance when it comes to Daniel Bryan and the insults that he comes out with. Jesus! He called Daniel Bryan a geek and took him apart because he is a vegan! Man, is that Michael Cole a badass!

At the end of the day, he is doing his job pretty well. Not only is he commentating well but he is running the line between heel and face all the time. It is refreshing to see the play-by-play guy being the heel for a change. However, the problem with Cole is that he is not getting the right kind of heat. His insults come off as being utterly ridiculous and childish. The ones I have mentioned are probably the worst of them. Honestly, I thought that the WWE could come up with better than that. His love affair with the Miz is pretty entertaining, to be honest. However, he comes across as trying too hard sometimes. Look at what happened with Te Hart Dynasty last night… It was a train wreck because Cole was trying to push his new attitude down our throats.

He has promise but he runs the risk of losing all of that if he continues to be an annoying asshole.

Screw Cole bring back JR. JR and King to me is what helped make raw and ppvs great besides the action. At NOC i thought the he was going to get up from the announce table get in the ring push Daniel Bryan out of the way and give Miz a blowjob because he was defending Miz like he was his boyfriend or something.

Why are people against this new Michael Cole, I am loving what he is doing as a heel announcer, that was suppose to be the Lawler being the Heel. what needs to be done is to get rid of Lawler because with Cole heeling it up Lawler cant carry the show for commentating.

Cole's new role with the GM announcements ( and I quote ) and new attitude has gotten to me.
To me the reason we havent had the good monster heel build up for any of the heels coming out lately was because Lawler and JR and Lawler and early Cole both were Face lovers and it bore the show and didnt build up any heels.
Since Coles change it has elevated the Miz ( even though he was doing good on his own ) he has someone on the announce table praising him and showing him respect which would never happen before.

Look when WWE built some wicked Heels, yeah they were good characters but there was someone on the announce team building them up. ie Heenan, Ventura, JBL, and early Lawler.

Cole keep up the good work because this change in your on screen persona is great for tv and great for bringing up new heels. I pray they dont go back to both announcers marking out for the face.
I love JR but he was better when Lawler was a heel announcer, and your lying to yourself if you think he was as entertaining when both him and Lawler were both face lovers. Lawler made JR boring as he did when Cole came in. I know this is a Cole thread but Lawler is the problem on the announce team.

I think Cole would be a much better heel if he played the role throughout the show rather than selectively picking on only a few faces. He obviously is the most outspoken against Daniel Bryan and for the Miz. But recently he has started talking crap about R-Truth and then most recently about the Hart Dynasty yesterday.

I wish he would just do the same with every face and support the heels and they he would be much better overall. But going back and forth kind of takes the realism right out of his character since he can't seem to make up his mind about whether he wants to be a heel or a face.

I certainly won't go out of my way to watch RAW, at least on time, but when I do watch—and granted, I'm fast-forwarding quite a bit—Cole is one of the only things about the show that makes me want to watch. I will intentionally stop at any segment involving Daniel Bryan or the Miz (though I deplore him), specifically to hear Cole go off.

Michael Cole is annoying when he has to announce anything for the GM. I actually applaud Jericho for telling him to shut up and get to the point. Jericho said what some of us wish we could tell him. But Cole is fair in his opinions on people he likes the Miz but does not like R Truth he totally kills Daniel Bryan I mean seriously the way he talks about Bryan gives the Brooklyn Brawler more cred. You would think filling in for J.R. you would have learned something from him. Also the reaction for the emails should tell you its starting to get old. I really hope that when we do find out who the GM is I hope its really something worth watching.

The sheer level of hatred Michael Cole got before his change in character was hilarious. I mean he was a bad commentator but he wasn't as bad as some people said. Now, the fans have a whole new reason to hate him.

Michael Cole is absolutely now one of the most entertaining parts of Monday Night Raw. He's still partially a tweener but with the mocking of the Hart Dynasty last night, I think it's safe to say that Cole is one step closer to being a full blown heel.

He's still using his cliché phrases (If You Watch Miz vs. Bryan at Night of Champions, he uses the Old 'Not this Way' Phrase During a Roll Up) but it's just damn entertaining to watch him act as a douchey heel. He shares great chemistry with Miz and Bryan and I really think that he has a great future as a heel ahead of him.

i dont mind a heel Cole, IF they turn him 100% and have him diss Cena, Orton and ALL the faces. I also would love to see more of King dissing Cole when he criticizes Bryan. King dissed Cole by saying, "you are not an athlete" and it's funny and true seeing these two argue with King as the face. i would also like to see King (whenever Cole calls Bryan a loser) to tell Cole to look in the mirror or say something about Cole being a loser or a nerd, that would make the commentary more funny.
