Mayweather vs Pacquiao LD

What it boils down to is Pac didn't do enough to win the fight. He didn't land enough punches and that's a common theme with any Mayweather fight, as he is inclined to jab and run all the time.

Boxing hasn't always been this boring has it?

The fight sucked.

Judges got the decision correct.

Can't argue with punches landed. It's just that those punches wouldn't kill a fly, much less be considered a punch in real life.

Seriously, Pacquiao looks like he did a brisk jog as opposed to being in a 12 round fight.

More of a problem with the scoring. To keep itself afloat, boxing needs to overhaul it's scoring to stop rewarding the little pepper shots from the outside. They'll of course never do that because it's a corrupt sport with to many old head judges and refs, so it will inevitably burn into the ground.

Pac landed better punches than Floyd in the rare occasions he threw them, but Floyd landed way more punches overall.

Manny wasn't anywhere near as aggressive as he should have been. He respected Floyd's power way too much. It was a horrible performance on his part. The Pacquiao of 2009 would have beaten the fuck out of Floyd tonight.

Yeah well we couldn't have the fight then because of whatever nonsense Mayweather kept saying which was code for "No thanks, I like my head on my shoulders."

Good to see you back btw, Fizzy. Hope you've been well my friend.

Aside from a certain fighters steroid use giving me an achy breaky heart, i've been well. Same to you, buddy.

Damn if I don't wish Diaz/Silva happened back a couple years ago when the MMA section was soaring. Woulda provided some damn good discussion between us. Good times.

LOL at all of you who

Paid in the neighborhood of 100$ for this (seriously 100$? The fuck is wrong with you?)

Expected something different from a mayweather fight.

I figure a boxer or any fighter tries to go for a win. Pac didn't seem to want to take any chances out there, like JMT said. The shots that Pac landed were much more solid than anything Mayweather landed. But the pepper shots count as punches landed, even if they have little to no effect on the opponent.

No wonder boxing's been going down the drain. The best heavyweight fighters are in Europe and Mayweather wears out the mat running all the time. Sad day for boxing.

A few of us are heavily struggling to get it strong again, sir

More like a hope and a prayer Pacquiao would catch Mayweather with a solid shot to the face and knock his dick stiff.

And I would bet no one on this forum paid for that fight.

First fight ive seen in years and it was beyond boring manny didnt do shit basically looked like he just showed up and wanted to follow mayweather around for 12 rounds to get a paycheck. on that note give me fake wrestling over real boxing any day of the week

Pacquiao landed more quality punches but Mayweather landed more punches which is really surprising. I think Pacquiao was a little too hesitant because he was afraid of getting caught by a solid punch that knocked him out in his match with Marquez. Manny was doing well in the first six rounds but from then on, Mayweather slowed down the pace and ran his ass all over the ring.

If this is the best boxing has to offer with Mayweather as the "center" of it, then dark days are ahead of boxing as a whole.

EDIT: Now they're reporting that Manny wasn't allowed to take some sort of medication to take care of a shoulder injury he had during training. Wow.

I saw the MTV-Cribs style interview they had with Mayweather. What an asshole.

Still, it was better than Mike Tyson vs Francois Botha (the previous boxing match I saw).

I'm hoping Pac knocks him out, but it's likely we'll get a typical Mayweather fight. Floyd will probably Dance around the entire night, land enough hits, and score a decision.

Prophetic words...

He may just wrap one of his many Bugatti's around a telephone pole.

Which reminds me, because it's very rare I can be that guy, when I haven't bought the fight myself.

Congratulations guys. You all gave these numbnuts the GDP of the world’s 30 poorest countries combined.

Way to go, guys. Way to go. I could have told you months ago that was how the fight was going to go, for twenty bucks, a ham sandwich, and a quick handy in the back alley. How in the absolute fuck could anyone have thought anything else was going to happen?

I doubt anyone in this thread actually paid to see this.

Anyone think a rematch is possible for next year?
Floyd Mayweather said his last fight will be in September, which with a win, would put him at 49-0. Surely the chance to make it 50-0 would be too good to pass up, not to mention the money that would be involved in it once again...
