Maybe Adam Rose Should be in a Tag Team With.... Damien Sandow?

So hear me out here. Personally I feel that when Adam Rose makes his debut, he should do his thing, make a name for himself (lord help us if he has a 4 month undefeated streak)... But I think eventually, he should have a tag team with Sandow. Why Sandow? Because I think it'll be a great odd couple pairing, I can already imagine a bunch of hilarious scenarios for them.

You can easily make this a thing, Sandow wants a partner, goes to GM demanding he gives him a partner, so they give him Rose. Rose excited to be in a tag team as Sandow hates it, but the GM is saying he asked and now he's got and if he doesn't tag team with him, he'll be punished.

Then in the coming weeks you have segments showing Sandow in the Exotic Express with Rose on the way to the next Raw. Rose is partying, having a good time, with Sandow sitting in the corner with a book trying to read with a glass of scotch as Rose tries to bring Sandow out of his shell. So he makes Sandow do a shot, then later on in the show we see Sandow going crazy on the bus, with his tie tied around his head and such. And finally it comes to the show and we see backstage someone wants to interview the two as Rose comes out of their locker room asking the interviewer to be quiet because "Ol' Sandy is a bit hung over after last night!" (Keeping PG in mind with all this)

Another scenario would be Sandow taking Rose to a gentlemen's club. "Ah, welcome back Mr. Sandow... deliveries in the back young man." "No Albert, he's *SIGH, my tag team partner." Then they both go to sit down with classical music in the background, Rose looking as uncomfortable as possible. Then Sandow gets called away for some reason so he gets up, reminds Rose not to "touch anything!" Later in the show we come back to see Sandow renter the room with all the old men and Rose around a table as he's trying to teach them beer pong, but with port glasses instead.

So what do you guys think of this idea?

I must apologize.
I was so ready to shit all over this because I thought, no just no.

But they way you laid it it out, had this comedic storyline to it, it is so believeable, and something I think would translate pretty well on screen. (they need decent comedy)

It would pull Sandow from the dregs of television, and possibly shoot him up the ranks, he deserves it. Plus gives Rose something concrete if his solo debut doesn't make the impact they want.
The odd-couple thing could work out great. ( I always wanted Sandow to "Cleanse" Zack Ryder.)

Great Idea, man.

Aha, I actually like this a lot! Kind of reminds me of Team Hell No, MVP & Matt Hardy and even Eugene & Regal. Odd pairings seem to work and they bring a solid story to WWE programming. Good idea!

Right off the bat I thought it sounded absurd, but having the uptight intellectual and the ditzy party guy as a team would be good. I just don't trust the current crop of creative writers to make it work as well as you laid it out.

Sounds good, Im worried it will turn out more like Santino and koslov rather then bryan and kane due to the lack of established star power rose has and how low down sandow has dropped. Bryan and kane where already reasonably relevant going into their comedy tag team and so creative would have put more time into it. Thats my main concern for this pairing. On a side note rose really needs a finisher change more then anything, lanky guy like him cant rely on a closeline from hell

When I saw the 1st Adam Rose promo the first thing I thought was that he should be in a tag team so I get where ur coming from there. I also like ur storyline between Sandow and Rose but if I was booking Rose I would have him debut as a heel and his partner be a member of his entourage. Watching him on NXT I've that there's a huge guy dressed in armor in his entourage. Now he could just be added muscle for when Rose does his trust fall but if he's an actual wrestler he would be perfect as a partner. Think of when Big Zeke was with Brian Kendrick. Kendrick (in this case Rose) could do his fun loving care free schtick while the muscle does the heavy lifting. I think it was perviously stated that while the oldball pairing of Sandow and Rose would be funny they do have the potential to be a new verison of Santino and Koslov and if Im Sandow I want to stay far away from Koslov comparisons considering how he's currently out of WWE. Maybe the two could feud tho

Damien Sandow is slowly moving towards unemployment and Adam Rose will hardly make a massive impact. It could work and it would be fun. The WWE like having segments which are light-hearted and this would fit the bill.

They can be a tag-team that put on good matches and make us laugh. While it is a fall from grace for Sandow, it is at least something.

Hard to say. A lot depends on how versatile Damien Sandow is....and to a lesser extent, how much he likes the idea of working with someone whose behavior is designed to call so much attention to himself even when he isn't wrestling.

Would the Rose group of followers come with the package? (The Rose Garden? :)) That might detract from Sandow's rhetorical rantings, unless he's flexible enough to incorporate all that and still be what he needs to be .....which he just might be capable of.

The reason the Rhodes Scholars worked was because Damien's partner was as nondescript a personality as has ever appeared in a wrestling ring. Cody's presence is as bland as tap water, allowing for Sandow to carry the obnoxious verbal rambling, in which he excels.

But Adam Rose? A different problem, and adding him to the mix might force Sandow to tone down his act to accommodate Rose, thereby negating what Damien does best.

Not sure about this.

I think it's a good idea and it will illustrate both personalities in a positive light. As far as Sandow slipping down the ladder, sometimes I think we look into things a little too much. Yes, I understand that he lost to Cena in Money in the Bank is now jobbing to several stars, most recently RVD. But remember, last year Cesaro had won the US championship, and quite honestly, I don't remember him winning very much as the champion. Now, a year later, he's paired with Heyman and will quickly escalate to main event ranks

He could pull it off, trust me.

I only knew him as Damien Sandow, and then on Classics OnDemand I saw him as Aaron "Idol" Stevens in OVW (or FCW can't remember which one), and it was really amazing to see him doing a gimmick that was a total 180 from what he is now. And he was good at it.

As a Rosebud I agree with everyone else in that when I first read the title I was filled with criticizing remarks to give you. I waited and read what you actually had to say, and I must say that if Adam Rose doesn't translate well as a singles wrestler on the main roster that this would be a perfect role for him.

Right now Sandow is floating like a turd in the bowl, if he's not careful he'll be flushed. He no longer has his robe, barely gets to talk and often has a jobbers entrance. Basically he's the guy in the t shirt that loses in 3 minutes and makes Dolph Ziggler look like a guy getting a push.

So in short I dig this idea, Sandow is a good hand and anything is better than nothing, plus odd couple gimmicks have seen a decent degree of success over the years, from The Rock 'N' Sock Connection to Bookerdust to Team Hell No.

This would be an odd tag team. I wouldn't be against Rose teaming with Sandow though. Sandow needs something to do and his stuck up personality would be a very interesting pairing with Rose's partying. I can imagine a lot of silly promos from Sandow being frustrated at all the partying, and a sarcastic remark or two about the rabbit at the party from Rose's hype video in particular. The question is, would this tag team actually work or would it just be used to temporarily give them each something to do before inevitably feuding with each other? I'd rather see them both in singles action, but the tag team division could always use more names and who knows, maybe it works out well for them both. It surely wouldn't be boring.

I think it's a brilliant idea and it could be absolutely hilarious! Sandow is being underutilized anyway so this could work for him. Also, the WWE is becoming short of tag teams and seems to be in a rebuilding process within the division. I agree that Rose needs a need finisher; the last match on NXT I seen him in he finished it with an elbow from the second ropes (maybe a new finisher perhaps). Not only does he need a new finisher but Sandow as well. I'm thinking the Royal Arch should be his main finisher which is a kneeling inverted Sharpshooter that he uses as a sig.

Love it. Immediately knew where you were going with it when I read the title. Odd couple tag teams are the best. Sandow is already a funny character, why not play up the two characters?

I was initially planning on coming in this thread and saying how shit the idea was, but after reading the ideas put forward I think it could really work and come across well on TV.

The scenarios put forward could really work, with Sandow trying to calm Rose down and Rose trying to create a more "fun-loving Damien". The idea of Sandow getting hammered and partying on the Exotic Express made me laugh, I'd love to see a clip of that on WE TV.

In a way it sounds like a better version of the Al Snow/Steve Blackman tag-team from back in the day, where Snow was trying to encourage Blackman to loosen up and have more fun. I think for a bit of light hearted comedy this could be a great idea, it would also get Sandow some more well-deserved TV time and give us another tag-team for the division. I don't see Rose doing much in Singles, and Sandow is so far down the totem pole he may as well not be with the company, so this would be a good step forward for him too as well as introducing Rose to WWE fans who havent seen him NXT work.
