Low Ratings for RAW - Is it Panic Time?

Yes it is time to push the damn panic button. TNA just went two hours and is putting on consistent PPV shows. WWE fans are tuning in to playoff baseball and Monday Night Football without conflict.

No they're not. Go read fan reaction at places like the PW Torch. Most TNA fans are saying the shows are crap and have been for weeks. TNA doesn't even beat ECW in the ratings. TNA isn't even on the radar yet.

And fans will always tune into baseball postseason, and for damn sure, the NFL. I choose MNF over RAW 10 times out of 10. That's why I have DVR. SO I can fast forward through most of the crap and watch what I want to watch. It doesn't matter what the WWE does, they'll never, ever, ever be in the same universe as playoff baseball or MNF, so that's not really even an issue when it comes to the E's ratings.

I was only speaking my opinion about TNA, and I have enjoyed every show thus far. And TNA is absolutely on the radar judging by the increases in attendance and viewership. They're getting big faster than most promotions ever hoped to.

Are you saying WWE should ignore the conflict and stay the course? That hasn't worked for George W. Bush, it won't work for Vincent K. McMahon.

No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying TNA is not a reason to change. Their attendance is the same as it's always been because they always have their show in Mickey Mouse's dressing room in Orlando. Viewership? Every week they get either a .9 or a 1.1 in the ratings. It's as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

Like I said, TNA is about on par with ECW right now, and barely, at that.

Its true about the NFL destroying the WWE on a Monday night. In the UK, the WWE is still massive although still lagging behind the likes of football(what you guys call soccer), rugby Union/Rugby League (what Americans call football, minus the padding) and the UFC.

The WWE need to start producing television that is more aimed at the 18-35 demographic, being more action packed drama like Lost, 24 or another male-themed soap. Not the Cena show :(
In Portugal, where I live, 10 years old kids prefer wrestling to football, and the most of them just see SmackDown! or RAW because of Mysterio, Cena, and all the guys that somehow and somewhere we got tired.

Mysterio got the bigger pops on SmackDown! Tours (I'm not sure if he was here but they were cheering).

It's complicated in a place like United States to compete with NFL... can anybody tell me if there is a better night than monday to RAW be?

Of course I'm going to panic!! 2.8... well it's just fantastically horrible!!! After the panicking I'm going to log onto some rasslin' forums (and we all know what those are!), list off all the ways the WWE is crap- thus the reasons for the low Raw rating, AND THEN I'm going to watch Raw, so I can repeatedly point out the things I don't like for future panicking/complaining references.

Eh, for those who are oblivious and actually agree with the above statement, that was just me trying to be witty/sarcastic. I probably didn't do all that well. Getting to my point (that took long enough), no I don't think it's time to panic. The WWE has been having a notoriously bad year, and I'm not going to be shocked or panicked if we have a few bad ratings. I expect it. But, I think the WWE is working hard to fix what gaps injured wrestlers, etc have left behind, and I'm opitmistic about the future.

I don;t think it's time to panic yet(not until TNA starts getting a better rating) but it should make the creative team realize that they may have to be alittle more creative & work a little harder. I'm just saying they have nobody to blame but themselves. I think WWE will eventually get their act together but for now I dont think they need to panic, yet anyways`

Well this week's Raw rating did seem to climb a little bit which is always a step in the right direction. However WWE is still a long way from digging therselves out of the hole. WWE does not need to panic yet, and I think this week's rating proves that. However it was still in the 3's. Hopefully these past few weeks of ratings have woken the creative team into thinking that it's time to come up with some new material and jumble up the roster. There is still plenty that WWE can do before it's panic time, however should WWE jumble things up and ratings stay low or drop, then it's certainly panic time.
