Steamboat Ricky
WZCW's Living Legend
For the last two days, I have done nothing on here but read through piles and piles of complaining and moaning about the DP situation, championships held by members of creative, the Gus promo, and further backlash from the late show posting. I have tried to let this thing run its course, but clearly, that is not happening.
If you have not heard or realized, I have taken over as "Head" of creative. What that means, I don't really know yet. But I I do know that I have taken it upon myself to be responsible for things getting done. I see one of my best leadership qualities as being able to motivate others and delegating assignments. So, basically, that is what my number one task is. My task is to make sure that others are doing their assignments and helping when things need to get done. Basically, I'm sort of the jack of all trades. Honestly, nothing has changed too much, but this was put in place to hopefully help us better organize the product.
That being in mind, I busted my hump trying to get this last show out. So, I stressed (which should never happen with an efed), delegating tasks to guys in order to get the proper stuff written. Then, I had to go through the painstaking process of formatting all the little details into each segment, adding introductions and color, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I was glad to do it. But having taken a situation that was completely out of my hands and turned it into a show with the help of many of you guys and special help from Enforcer, I think it was a pretty darn good display of dedication. I knew beforehand that I was going to do the job to Maxx, but I still went out and wrote one of my best RPs ever. Why? Because I don't like writing crap that sucks. And not to boast, but my RPs past and present have been top-notch. I am very proud of them.
So, being pleased with the fact that the show was finally posted, I was hoping to see some increased excitement in having new organization, shuffled leadership, and the promise of change. Maybe even a "nice job Ricky" would have been nice. But no. I am instead flooded with complaining about DP not being a deserving champ and how people feel disrespected.
Pardon me while I go change shirts...

Ok, now I can successfully give this address. Here it is people: reality check. Do you realize that you are all complaining and whining about text in an internet forum? Sure, there are feelings and priorities behind each of these pieces of text. But bottomline...THIS IS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. Holy crapwads. We decided that it would be a nice thing to pay a sort of tribute to DP by giving him the strap one night while also furthering storylines. Big whoop. DP definitely is a deserving champ in mine and the rest of creative's eyes. This move wasn't even thought about twice because it was such a none issue. "Oh, we like DP and are sad to see him go because he has brought a lot to the fed. Let's pay a little tribute to him for being a consumate citizen to the fed and to his country. Cheers, mate!" That is literally the only conversation that was had regarding it. So, you can sit here and calculate your conspiracy theories about creative wanting to screw over guys and hold all the glory for ourselves...but that's all that you will find: CONSPIRACY THEORIES...no actual conspiracy.
I'm going to set out a few parameters of what I think should be the foundations of this fed, in no particular order:
a) This is recreation. In no way is this real-life, and in no way will your participation in this fed lead to enhancement in real life (or at least directly). If you are getting this upset about it, then I encourage you to take a step back and smell the roses. Go plant a tree, save some whales, help an old lady cross the street, ask that girl out that you've been eyeing, or teach your son how to play catch. Those are the things that matter in the long run...even Ric Flair says so.
b) The best members of the fed will be the champs, regardless of participation in creative control. If I am the best, then you can bet that I very well may be the champ. But if Everest is the best and I'm a little less than Everest, then I still might be the champ. The top guy isn't always the champ. The championship is often used for storyline purposes and as a story-telling device. Don't be anal...have fun.
c) Crying and whining is not cool, bottom line. It just makes the whiner look like a tool. It's a scientific fact. Look it up in any 8th grade science book.
d) Mistakes will be made. If you are from a Judeo-Christian background, I ask you to please read Genesis 3. That will explain why things don't go as planned. David, I don't know where in the Koran, but I am sure that there is some kind of story of original sin. Other religious traditions, I'm sure you have yours' as well.
e) Forgiveness. Yep. Kirsten Dunst recommended it in Spider-Man 3. So did Jesus (in life and the Bible, not Spider-Man 3)...I think both of them were on to something pretty enormous there.
f) If you whine and powerplay....YOU WILL BE JOBBED TO EL GUERRERO.
g) If you job to El Guerrero, that is not good....because he is DEAD. Seriously...how can you lose to a dead guy? Oh, I know the answer! *Pick me pick me pick me* Answer: Whining and powerplaying. El Guerrero > whining and powerplaying....FACT.
h) You treat me with respect, then I'll treat you with respect. Respect is earned, sonny. I don't have a respect tree in my back yard with respect falling off of it for me to give whenever I feel like it. It's something more like crude oil, which is currently very hard to come by.
i) If you have a beef (or "opinions" as you all have been calling them) with a storyline or individual, address it/him or her in a respectful manner. For example, much of the bickering that has occurred lately = not respectful.
I realize that many of these will contradict themselves, but hopefully I've communicated to you the values I hold for this place in a light in jovial manner. And now comes the primary purpose for this thread:

That my friends, is a line in the sand (notice that it is brown). I have drawn it. I am currently standing on one side of it, and the rest of you are standing on the other side. If you are dedicated to making this a fun place where we can hone our collective interests in professional wrestling, as well as buying into the values listed above, then I encourage you to step across the line. If you want to walk away, that is your choice and no one is going to force you to stay. We have enough guys here that want to have a good time and create some sweet text-wrestling productions to get along just fine.
I hope that you all will cross over and join me so that we can put all this stupid crap behind us and get back to business.
