Kingdom Come Discussion: Matt Tastic vs Flex Mussel

This is a feud that goes back longer than you would realise. From Liv Mas vs. Cerberus these two men have always been at loggerheads. At Lethal Lottery they collided during the match and have stuck their oar in at every opportunity in the proceeding shows. Kingdom Come will finally prove who the best is.

Hall of Fame legend squares off against the guy who has been trying to find his footing since the Cerberus split. This reminds me a little of Celeste/Eve, with the younger one looking to overthrow the older competitor to establish their name.

However, the Hall of Fame legend has been... a little off-track from the usual Matt Tastic we've seen. Reading the RP's feels a little weird these days. I've been around for all of Matt Tastic's career: the rise, the run at the top, the kickassery, Live Mas, and the many other faces of Tastic. This Matt Tastic feels like we are going full circle, right back to the beginning.

This reasoning puts both Flex & Matt on an even playing field. If this was the best Matt Tastic, Flex would have no chance, even if it was Cerberus Flex. Only way I initially saw Flex winning this was if he reformed with Ramparte and found that genius from awhile back (handicap match and all)... but now? Flex has a very good chance at knocking off Tastic. Matt's going to need to dig deep through his entire character's history, mix it all together, and throw it at Flex if he wants to win. Flex just needs a great RP.

The Hall of Fame element will make Tastic step up his game to the heights we have seen before. I think it’ll be a motivator for Killjoy and bring out the best in him. Tastic has found a way to always be floating around the main event since he last held the title. He won Gold Rush in 2016 and took down Garth Black, who was on fire, in the process. Tastic has shown when it matters most he can get the win. I think KJ will produce something akin to the World Champion that he was a few years back.

At the same time it could help Flex. Dynamite is looking for another signature win. He holds one over Showtime but this could go a long way to making Flex Mussel one of the top heels the fed has to offer. Dynamite winning here changes so much for the future of Flex. He can instantly go into the top level and start facing the bigger faces we have and he’ll have earnt that spot. With Gold Rush on the horizon, after a disappointing first round exit last time, if Flex were to win here it could set up a major story for the next pay-per-view on his way to avenging the disappointment of Gold Rush 2016.

I can’t pick this one. Both have a lot of motivation and the story has been really good to read. I cannot wait to see what they bring to the table.

This is a match where both have a lot to prove. Tastic is one of the most successful characters of all time in our fed, does he still have what it takes? Can Flex overcome the odds of facing an active legend like he did against another Hall Of Famer in Showtime? It will be a big deal for whoever wins regardless of who does win.

Years ago KJ and I did a pre-KC podcast back when he first won the world title and Cerberus just won the tag belts. At some point he predicted Tastic would face Flex at KC. Well here we are and I'm looking forward to us stealing the show. I'm also looking forward to putting down another legend before I start running through this roster for the World title.

Rooting for Flex, because he'll never see another win after Batti murders him on live television.

It is really good to see how far Flex has really come after the Cerberus breakup. Retiring Showtime was huge, and constantly being a contender for Titus's title was a hell of a progression in his story I thought. Mat Tastic is no slouch of a character either, coming off of Live Mas and being a fixture of WZCW programming. I don't think it'd be an upset despite who wins. I look forward to the end of this match though, because the victor should get another championship title shot eventually. Garth Black vs. Ty be damned.
