What was a rivalry that you thought would be awesome but it sucked in the end?

Rivalry that you thought would suck but turned out awesome?

1. You said that Austin made WWE more money than The Rock. Do you have some proof/credible source to back this statement? I find myself in need of a proof for this very often but can never find any.

2. Do you think Austin did the right thing by walking out on WWE?

3. One time Austin walked out on WWE was when he was asked to lose to Lesnar. When was the second time?

1. Trust me, he did. Austin's merchandise sales, PPV buys etc. were enough to let the WWF go public in 1999, as in before Rock came to power.

2. At the time, yes.

3. That pretty much was the only time unless I'm missing something. It was a combination of that and him getting tired of the stories and being treated like an idiot.

He walked when they wanted him to job to Coach, no?

Adam Bomb and Crush. I know who they became, but whenever I watch shit from the early 90s (namely Royal Rumbles) I always see them and I always wonder, what the fuck were they doing? I've never seen either in a one on one match nor do I know of any feuds they had. They'll probably never be featured on any sort of DVD Compilation, so can you give me a brief rundown of what they did in the WWF?

Yeah Austin did leave, but he had only been back for like a week at that point so it was hard to call it walking out, at least by comparison to the other time.

Well Adam Bomb wasn't much of note. He showed up in late 92/early 93 as a guy from Three Mile Island (site of a nuclear accident) but thankfully wasn't a mutant or anything. He was just a power guy that had a good look and could get through a match well enough. His biggest problem was as awesome as he looked (his time as Wrath in WCW was actually decent at first), his accent made AJ Styles sound like a refined English gentleman. He never did anything of note and there's nothing to ever know about him. As for any matches he had......uh.......he was on a losing Survivor Series team in 1993 and lost to Bret Hart a few times. Seriously, those are his WWF highlights.

Now Crush on the other hand had a legitimate history. He was brought into the company in the summer of 1990 to replace Ax in Demolition as Ax was having health issues and wasn't going to be long for the company. They defended the titles under the Freebird Rule for a bit before losing them to the Hart Foundation at Summerslam 1990 (in what Norcal and occasionally I consider one of the best tag matches ever). The team split for good after WM 7 and Crush left for about a year.

Then he came back as a Hawaiian (which he actually was) good guy in neon yellow and orange called Kona Crush. He had a worthless feud with Doink and then was this close to getting the superman push that Luger got. As in it was more or less decided at the last possible second to give it to Luger instead of Crush. Yokozuna eventually destroyed him and hurt his ribs, putting him on the shelf for awhile. Crush came back and was furious at Randy Savage (then a retired commentator) for not visiting him in the hospital.

Crush turned heel and beat up Savage before joining Yokozuna's foreign faction and feuded with Savage for a few more months. He stayed a midcard heel and was basically Mr. Fuji's lackey for about nine months before he was arrested on drug and gun charges. He came back in 96 and was a biker who eventually joined the original Nation of Domination. The Legion of Doom and Ahmed Johnson destroyed the Nation at Mania 13 and Crush was kicked out. he started his own biker faction called the Disciples of Apocalypse before jumping to WCW in 1997.

In short, he was almost a big deal but his most famous feud is losing to Savage in what would be considered the grandfather of last man standing matches.

I do remember Wrath. Nash ended his winning streak shortly before he put Goldberg down. He was pretty cool.

I remember Crush being in the Nation and starting the DOA now that you mention it. Never knew anything about his earlier shit. Thanks.

Indeed he was. There's a match on Nitro with him and Mortis against La Parka and Psychosis (two random luchadores) which actually blew me away. It wasn't a masterpiece or anything but I was expecting nothing and got a really decent match.

We didn't see Hogan VS Austin at WrestleMania X8. Instead we saw Rock VS Hogan and Austin VS Hall.
The most common explanation for this is that Hogan and Austin both refused to lose to each other. If this is true, why did Hogan object to losing to Austin but was willing to lose to The Rock?

The best answer I've ever heard is that Austin knew how the fans would react (cheering Hogan) and he didn't want that. Also Rock was much younger than Austin and had a brighter future, so a win over Hogan helped him more long term.

One of the explanations that I heard (and believe) is that Austin flat out refused to work with Hulk Hogan. Irrespective of whether he won or lost. Could there be any truth to this?

One more question.. We know that Antonio Inoki fought Muhammad Ali. Was this a shoot or a work? What was the outcome of this match? I heard it was a disappointment, but did the match make lots of money? Also, I heard that Inoki was mainly on his back through out the match, kicking Ali. True?

Roddy Piper has gone on the record several times saying that his match against Mr. T at WrestleMania 2 was a shoot. I dont believe this. What do you think?

I've heard it was a shoot but I'm not sure I beleive it. The match ended in a draw despite Ali's legs being destroyed. Yes the on the back part is true.

I've read Piper's book. I've seen more honesty in a Hulk Hogan interview.

Simple: Ali couldn't punch him when he was on his back.

Andre the Giant beat Chuck Wepner (a boxer) by countout and Bruno Sammartino beat Stan Hansen by countout.
