This past Sunday was the very first time I've ever seen Hogan Hulk-up (I think that's what it was). A few weeks ago I was thinking about asking you for any recommendations on any of his matches prior to his launch to stardom, but now my interest was piqued by storytelling. Besides the classic Hogan vs Andre, what three matches of his would you recommend that had excellent storytelling?

I'm not sure how much great storytelling Hogan has had but check out Hogan vs. Warrior at Mania 6, but first look up their time together in the Rumble (1990) to see the reaction to it. It helps the build a lot. Also you might want to try almost any of his WWF matches vs. Savage in the 80s as they're almost all good. For a look at him failing which is the opposite of most of his stuff, try Hogan vs. Lesnar from Smackdown in 2002.

Haven't read the past couple hundred pages, so feel free to quote if you already addressed this.

How would you book the CM Punk angle after his Pipebomb promo? Let's assume starting from the Raw after MITB PPV onwards (Punk's won the title, left WWE, John Cena is due to be fired next night on Raw, Vince McMahon is still CEO, HHH & Nash have not appeared in their current capacities, Laurinitis was just an on-screen non-verbal McMahon stooge).

I won't go into a full Book This kind of thing because I'm not very good at them and I don't like them.

However, I'll give a few main points that I would have stuck to.

1. SLOW DOWN!

That was the second biggest issue with this storyline. This angle gave us arguably a year of storyline potential and now it's three months later and most of the story has been dropped. That leads me to point #2.

2. Keep things simpler.

This story had the following parts:

Punk is Champion/gone
Cena is fired
Rey wins the title
Cena wins the title
Punk comes back
McMahon is fired
HHH is the boss
Punk vs. Cena II
Nash appears
Nash beats up Punk
Alberto cashes in
Texting
Someone sent the text
Nash sent the text
Big conspiracy
Nash vs. Punk
HHH vs. Punk
Miz/Truth are fired
CONSPIRACY
HHH is fired
Ace is texting
Vince comes back
Ace is boss
Miz/Truth are back
Nash is fired

Those are 25 pieces to this story and I'm probably leaving a bunch out. 25 parts to a story were rushed through, a lot of them in one night (Raw from 2 weeks ago). So many of those things wound up meaning nothing too: everything with Nash, Rey as champion, Cena being fired, the firing storyline, Vicne coming back, and more. All of those things could be eliminated and saved for later. You would take out A LOT of the clutter of this whole thing.

I mean, what did Nash really mean in this story? He happened to be at Summerslam, sent himself a text saying he should attack Punk, cost Punk the title, ran in again a few more times and then got fired. Why? What did this add to the story? It doesn't make any sense and didn't really add anything to the story. Did Nash have any motivation? Was he lying? We don't know, because now he's gone and that part is being forgotten I guess.

In short, keep things slower paced and not rush them.

The only change I would have made is have Punk come back later. He came back after 8 days. In essence he didn't show up on Raw once. That's nothing huge.

Not very much for awhile. Remember, they didn't bring Austin in to be Austin. They brought him in to be DiBiase's lackey. That took awhile before it kicked in. WWF would have gotten him eventually.

Not at all pointless. Henry needs to look dominant against people not named Orton and Morrison. A convincing win over Big Show is one such win.

What body part is the STF supposed to hurt? I thought it was supposed to hurt the head but Cena never applies a lot of pressure to the head. I always thought Cena did that so he wouldn't hurt the other guy but I watched an old match where Road Warrior Hawk used the STF and didn't apply much pressure to the head, the announcers talked about the torque on the leg.

So is the STF supposed to hurt the leg or the head?

Not sure how I'd know about him as a person.

As a wrestler, excellent, easily in the top ten ever in WWE and probably higher than that.

Both. I've seen Batista's leg otu to the side at angles not intended by nature while in the STF.

Do you think that Vickie Guerrero should manage another tag team(I.e Hawkins and Reks) and quickly consolidate them as worthy challengers and a legitimate team? It'd definitely help the tag division, no?

What is going to help the tag division is having teams, period. Managers could help but just teams that regularly have matches so you can have a way to say who is best, in the middle and worst is going to help more than anything.

Maybe but they would have to book things really carefully. The Raw and Smackdown there were so stupid I couldn't fathom it.

There aren't many good ones at the moment. Awesome Truth's remix makes me chuckle.
