Is Muhammad Hassan not the most tragic case of lost potential in wrestling history?

I've heard rumors that he was supposed to beat Batista at Summerslam to become the youngest World Champion ever before that unfortunate incident on Smackdown.

If not him, than who?

Sami was my initial choice also but does that mean he gets the rub from finally beating Braun?

Also, Nakamura vs AJ is fine. How do you build such a match without the title whilst making Nakamura the big deal he should be on the Main Roster? Ntm, the short time left till Mania.

He should but they wouldn't do it.

Just hype him up and have him kick the heck out of some people.

It's true that he was going to beat Batista.

Ahmed Johnson would have been World Champion if not for a bunch of injuries. He had a shelf life of all of a minute and a half but it would have been entertaining.

Think he (Hassan) would have been a multiple time World champion had they not fired him?

Also to note is that Mark Copani is only 35 years old. The way he nailed the Hassan character when he debuted was brilliant. Really wonder how that character would fare in today's WWE.

Your thoughts?

I really don't want to imagine how things would go for him in a Trump America.

Was thinking along the lines of today's crowds heavily cheering heels and maybe trying him in a babyface role. Wouldn't have hope of WWE allowing it or pulling such a character off.

True. The audience has changed a lot of things like that.

I wonder how his promo on Dec 27th, 2004 RAW when him and his manager, Daivari interrupted Stacy Keibler, would be received today in Trump's America. When watching it moments ago, you could tell his character had much thought put into it, which is a rarity in today's WWE.

Come to think of it, KB... Muhammad Hassan presented as he debuted before being depicted as an Average terrorist on SmackDown might actually be the perfect kind of character to bring Casuals back to watching WWE in Trump's America.

I never actually thought of it like that before.

It would probably be half the audience cheering and half the audience telling him to stay out of that area.

Just what Vince McMahon seems to like nowadays. A Polarizing character with actual substance. Funny thing is, he was a born-American being treated like a foreigner, that in essence was the beauty of the whole character, lMO.

True but that's not something I'd ever do.

What do you think happens to the Universal title scene post-Mania?

The champion likely goes away, defends once over the summer, and drops it to Reigns at Summerslam.

Yep. His promos in OVW were arguablyu even better.

Once it is Heel Roman Reigns, that would be perfect. Give him a long run straight till Mania 34 and let him drop it to a hot babyface, whoever that maybe.

Thanks. Will have to see if I can find any of those Hassan promos. Can't believe he is still only 35 years of age.

So, TNA has a legit claim to ownership of the 'Broken' gimmick in my opinion. From what I've heard Matt started the character while under a TNA contract and it first appeared on television on TNA.

How does it impact Matt's value to other organizations if TNA put forward the case that the 'Broken' gimmick is their property and he can no longer use it?

I humbly accept Seth Rollins' sincere half-apology, so I half-accept his status as a babyface

Good, with that out of the way, my question is, do you see an actual Rollins vs HHH match happening at Mania or an angle to kick-off something big for Post-Mania 33? To me, Rollins doesnt look like he will be fit enough to have a match based on how he looked last night.

It goes down in a hurry. WWE would waznt them anyway.

I think the match happens.

How do you deal with the Samoa Joe factor without making him look like an 'Average Joe'? He has been built brilliantly thus far... I just don't see sense in Rollins overcoming both Joe and HHH alone.

Come to think of it, some Demon might be available for Mania also. Hmm...
