In a move that will probably take most fans of the company by surprise, former TNA Knockouts champion Angelina Love of the Beautiful People was released late yesterday by the company.

According to numerous sources within the company, there was some sort of issue with Love's work visa (she's Canadian) expiring and not being renewed as needed.

Love, who worked for TNA as recently as the Impact tapings this past Monday and Tuesday, had been working on a work visa originally granted to her from when she was under a WWE developmental deal. The existing visa has either expired or will expire shortly.

One TNA source referred to it as the company's "hands being tied" since they can't use legally Love if she doesn't have her paperwork in order. There was a lot of unhappiness within the company regarding the entire situation going down, although it seemed to be more disappointment as opposed to heat on Love.

My guess is that TNA would bring her back if and when she can get her paperwork in order, although the release would conceivably leave her available to sign with WWE and work there (pending a new work visa).

Love and Velvet Sky, as the Beautiful People, had been the top heel act for the TNA Knockouts division and were scheduled to be involved in an important bout on the No Surrender PPV on 9/22.

There's no word yet as to how Love will be written out of TNA storylines at this time.

Stolen off another site. I don't watch TNA so it doesn't effect me. But I'm curious how TNA will explain it. I also don't think this would ever have happened if the promotion was run properly.

This is the first I've heard of that. I've been to many sites and even TNA sites, and I haven't heard anything about a Angelina Love release. The only release I've heard of is Jenna Morasca. I don't know how it could be true since Angelina has been working in the United States for years. If it is true then one of the best stables in women's wrestling is over. TNA has enough talent in their women's division, but this would be a big blow if it were true.

I hadn't beleived this when I first read it but I checked wikipedia and sure enough it says she was let go. This is going to be a huge blow to the knockouts division in TNA.

And if Wikipedia says that the Golden Gate Bridge is in New York and the Brooklyn Bridge was in China, would you believe that too? I would take this with a grain of salt until TNA announces the release themselves.

Yeah, because Wikipedia is such a reliable source :icon_rolleyes:

Until I see this on a reputable site I will find it diffuclt to believe

Yeah, it actually is. I'm so fucking sick of people shitting on Wikipedia as unreliable. Do you people ever even go to Wikipedia? Any wrong information is usually edited and fixed within minutes. Every bit of information on there usually has a little number next to it---you know what that is? That's called a SOURCE. You should try them out.

If this turns out to be true Jakey...I'm rather pissed. I do watch TNA, and quite enjoy it. The thing I enjoy the most is the Beautiful People though. They've made me give a shit about women's wrestling for the first time in...well, ever. The loss of Angelina Love would actually be a pretty big blow to the company, but if it's merely an issue of paperwork than I'm sure it will only be a matter of weeks at most until she's back on board. Atleast I certainly hope so, I'd hate to see her gone from TNA.

Does TNA actually do work visa's?

I dont understand the method of tna's madness. seriously not being able to grant one of TNA's biggest stars a work visa?, and for those that dont understand the Knockouts division is the biggest draw in TNA, and the biggest part of the Knockouts?.... The beutiful people.

Now not allowing Love to actually get another work Visa, how easy is it to get a work visa?, they could have easily financed her visa but chose to let her go?

Seriously stupid and like X i am going to be pissed as hell

Completely, 100% agree.

It's going to be a shame if TNA loses this valuable, valuable piece to their company. But I think they know just how valuable she is, and will do anything they can to make sure she stays under the TNA banner. I mean, let's face facts... The Beautiful People consistently have the highest rated segment each and every week, and for good reason, too. Not only are their asses out of this World awesome, but they're actually fun to watch beyond that. And Angelina Love is a HUGE part of that, obviously.

So, yeah... while this sucks if it turns out to be true, I have full optimism that TNA will get her back very soon. I'm going to be pissed though she ends up going back to WWE. That would suck beyond words.

TNA probably had to let her go until her visa is worked out, otherwise they could be sued by the govt for employing an illegal alien worker. She might have to go back to canada and reapply if she waited to long to try to renew.

Funny thing, Someone here illegally can commit a crime,Drunk driving, buglary, etc, and the cops can't ask if they are illegal. Angelina comes here legally, obeys the work laws and forgets to renew her work visa and she has legal problems and could have to go home to canada. Not saying anything political, just doesn't seem fair.

Man, I hope this isn't true, but it's starting to look like it is. I am severely disappointed by this if true. Angel and Velvet are in my opinion hands down the best thing on TNA. They are the main reason I watch TNA, and easily the best thing the knockouts division has to offer. This will be a huge blow to the TNA knockout division. Angel and Velvet were the only really established heels in the division, and with Angel being the leader of the BP, this is a big blow. Hell if Angel is indeed gone, there really is no BP left, just Velvet. Who I might benefit from this since they do need a top heel in the division which she can be.

Damn disappointed to read this, but hopefully they bring back Angel as soon as possible.

Just another reason why TNA is a fucking joke. I mean come on, really now? Your TOP female performer, through issues that should have been worked out months ago, now has a chance to sign with WWE? Now, it doesn't matter two shits IF she signs or IF she doesn't. The point is, you don't let WWE have a crack at your top talent if you can do something about this

And this was 100% avoidable. I think Love will resign with TNA but what if? What if Vince offers her a deal she can't refuse? Man TNA are going to feel dumb

Wolvdog, who's responsability is it for her to renew her work visa?
Obviously, BOTH should have done everything possible to avoid this.

If vinny was smart he would try to sign angelina, I hope she stays with TNA.

I don't understand why it couldn't be worked out but I don't know enough about visa issues to be able to comment. With her popularity and draw it will surely be a blow and I'd like to think they could figure it out and get her back but then..would they have released her?

Last but not least Kudos for not mentioning Angelina in the thread title resulting in my duplicate post and subsequent infraction.

What the hell is with all this blame being thrown at TNA's feet? It's not THEIR job to make sure their foreign-born workers keep their paperwork in order. I mean, I suppose you could make the argument that they could have kept up with it and nagged her about it, but that still seems silly to me. TNA has every reasonable expectation that their employees should be responsible adults that don't need their hands held and their asses wiped for them. It was Angelina's job to keep up with her own damned paperwork and if she failed to do so, its her own damned fault.

Now, that having been said, if her goal all along was to move over to WWE? This might have been a great way to go about it.

I am very confused on why she was released though.

I have seen this happen before were a friend of mine's work Visa expired, so she came back to Canada and took a couple of weeks to get the paper work sorted out, with the help of the company she was working for, and went back to the states to work.

They did not have to fire or let my friend go, she was just placed on a temporary leave of absence until everything was sorted out.

I'm sure TNA could have came up with some type of storyline to explain her abscence for a few weeks and still kept her under contract as an employee.

I'm sure the release it just a legal technicality and she will be immediately re-hired as soon as a new visa is issued. Legally TNA would be leaving themselves open if they didn't fire her as soon as the issue became apparent. It's a no-brainer that they'll re-hire her as soon as they can do so legally.

I never said once that Angelina isn't to blame. Your right, it's her responsibility. BUT, when your a company trying to making in a business dominated by another company, you HAVE to limit your mistakes. And this mistake is a doozie if she doesn't resign. Sure, TNA can say hey so long your fault, while Angelina heads to WM and performs in front of 60,000 people. So, who wins there?

This situation has FUBAR written all over it. Whether it was Angel's fault for not renewing it right away, or TNA's for not doing the proper checks and paperwork, this should not have happened. How can you afford to let one of your most consistent commodities go like this? They're trying to build the KO division as it's own brand, and then they lose not only their top heel, but their only true female stable falls apart, and there's no way to write it on TV. Velvet cannot be the "Beautiful People" by herself.

I'm hoping there's no serious legal troubles for her, but you really can't say she didn't have it coming. She can still work a pretty good career north of the border, but it won't be quite the same as it would have been in TNA. If she does get everything cleared up, I'm sure that WWE will try and snatch her up before TNa has another shot, if she'd even want to go back there.

Stolen off another site. I don't watch TNA so it doesn't effect me. But I'm curious how TNA will explain it. I also don't think this would ever have happened if the promotion was run properly.

Y 2 Jake, i don't watch tna very often either, but i too am interested how tna is going to explain why their top heel in their knockout division has suddenly disappeared and what exactly happens to the beautiful peoples stable? You are also very correct in stating that if the company was run right this wouldn't have happened. Could anyone imagine WWE letting one of their top performers work visa run out, or never checking to see if they had one to begin with? Hell no. This is another example as why tna is a second rate company that is no where close to competing with WWE. Dixie can spout all that shit about wanting to be on monday nights, but c'mon, REALLY??? TNa cant keep one of their top performers work visa situation straight and they think they can compete head to head with WWE? Get real. TNA and Love are in some serious shit for this. Its not something thats just gonna go away with a little slap on the wrist. Tna dropped the ball again, as they do many times. Its a shame for love tho, she was pretty entertaining and could wrestle a bit. I'm sure she finds herself in the wwe after this is all straightened out.

Whilst it may have been Love's responsibility to keep her papers up to date, TNA as a company, knowing she was a Canadian national, should never have employed her without the proper papers. And if she had them at the time of signing, there should have been a paper trail within the company that stated her visa ran out at a certain time, and this should have been flagged up. Whilst this is her own failing, it's also a failing of TNA administration.

Oh, this could be the start of something special. Velvet could to the whole, “Angelina dropped the ball…” speech like Triple H gave at the Raw after WM XIV when HBK left and start the BP Army. I could see it now. Velvet Sky in the HHH role, Stacy Keibler in the X-Pac role and the Bella Twins in the New Age Outlaws role. Okay, that’s just wishful thinking, but I hope this pushes Velvet closer to the TNA KO Title. She could use a Stable. Who are the Heel KOs in TNA right now anyway??
