Is WWE Hinting at a Jeff Hardy Return?

I think it would be cool if Jeff came back for WM29 and it could possibly happen, but like others have said he needs to stay clean and continue to do well. I agree as a long time fan of his, he has been on an awesome run since he returned in the fall and has won back a lot of of fans including me since his incident at last year's TNA PPV. I am sure Vince would have no problem picking Hardy back up for the Road to Wrestlemania and he would have no damn problem breaking the record for most armbands sold at a single event for WM29. I doubt they are hinting at his return in the Punk article, probably just adding to the CM Punk/Jericho. But when his TNA contract expires, I wouldn't count out him returning to the WWE, if both sides are interested in doing business once again.

I don't know how many years hardy has left, but I know he doesn't want to finish up his career in TNA, he deserves his send off to be in wwe.

I hope so! I'd love to see The Extreme Enigma back in the 'E. One of my all time favourites. He'd probably straighten himself out for good, too.

Rehiring Jeff Hardy would be a mistake. Not just for the fact with all the drug issues, but where is he going to fit. I would rather WWE elevate guys who bust their ass all year for them like Ziggler, Rhodes, Miz then bring in more guys from the Attitude Era.

Not very likely. Neither party seems interested in eachother. WWE is mentioning a TNA star because doing so makes them seem a little edgier and will get the fans who are claiming all this "reality era bs" talking up a storm about WWE acknowledging TNA. They're trying to add fuel to the fire of the Jericho/Punk rivalry, nothing more. The last place you would want to further a storyline is on a website that has been on a horrible decline for years now. With Jeff's past substance abuse problems I can only see bad publicity for WWE if they sign him any time soon.

jeff hardy will be rehired, like it or not, if he appeared in a porno with chyna doing crack with her, hed still be rehired, they knew about his substance abuse during his last run, wwe has a soft spot for jeff for some reason.

If Jeff can keep himself clean, safe to work with than I don't see why WWE won't bring him back, he had that rockstar connection with the crowd where I could see WWE bringing him back in and I think they'd bring back Matt on the condition he was absolutely clean.

But I'm not so bothered by Matt returning, his steam ran out long ago, Jeff on the other hand and built himself up to that point the sky was truly the limit he could have been in line for some huge WrestleMania feuds with the likes of Undertaker, Orton maybe even Cena, Jeff has a lot he could offer WWE but only if he's clean.

i really hope they don't rehire him, he left the company the last time cause they wouldn't allow him to use drugs and i'm sure he's still on some drugs, i'm watching impact now and he looks high as a kite

No way. Hardy is in a good place now, why would he jeopardize that by going back to work that schedule? If you think about his past demons, it's just too risky.

He has a wife and a child now...it's just not worth it. I think the article is basically highlighting the fact that Punk was a prick to Hardy and now he's getting the same treatment from Jericho, that's what they meant by karma.

i really hope they don't rehire him, he left the company the last time cause they wouldn't allow him to use drugs and i'm sure he's still on some drugs, i'm watching impact now and he looks high as a kite

Wait, What? How old are you, do you even know what it is like when someone looks "high as a kite?" Seriously, do you have any clue? I take you are just hating because you're one of them types of pricks who just can't let things go. Also, TNA's production value is pretty shitty, even in high def, so how can you tell he is "high as a kite." You probably can't because he probably isn’t.

Jeff doesn't need to go back to WWE at all. Jeff has turned his act around and if you had any knowledge of someone looking "high as a kite" you could clearly tell by Jeff’s' full face and healthier looking movements while being in the ring, he clearly isn't high.

I also don't get why everyone thinks you have too, or need to retire or return to the WWE to be successful or to make money. Jeff is in TNA and hopefully like Angle, RVD, Anderson, Ray, Storm, Sting, and other they retire in TNA. Why would Jeff go back to the E for? The money he could make could be a whole lot of it. But, for that money he'd be making requires 6 days a week of travel and 300 days of a 365 day year of travel. Yeah, with the past problems he has had, I don't think he wants’ that anymore. Jeff has a family now; a child in which he said in his DVD has totally changed his life.

My honest opinion is that Jeff will stay in TNA for the long haul. Maybe Jeff sees something in TNA that he enjoys, that he likes for which he is still in TNA. The lighter schedule, the two or three week tapings which allows him more time to stay home and to continue to heal is injuries. Oh, and could it possibly be the money he is making is also a reason he is staying in TNA? I think so. Even if it isn't millions of millions it must be enough to still be living comfortably to this day. Sure the WWE has a lot of pro's to it but to me, giving this Jeff situation it has a lot more cons if anything.

So wait minute. Let me see if I get this straight. WWE is hinting the return of a wrestler nearly a year in advance that is working for another company? Can you say "stupid"? Seriously, leave it to wrestling fans to slip on a banana peel and claim they had a brush with death.

I don't think the WWE is hinting at Hardy coming back, but then again stranger things have happened. I watched TNA the other day for shits and giggles hadn't watched for over a year and I couldn't believe how good Hardy looked last time I saw him wrestle he looked over weight, slow and just going through the motions this time he looked a lot fitter and looked like he had dropped a few pounds.
Maybe what happened to him was the wake up he needed specially with a young family.

So there's one mention of Jeff Hardy who played an important role in Punk's transition to a heel in a WWE article and now all of a sudden he's being hinted at a return!? Made me laugh! Jeff might have cleaned his act but the question is can he remain clean? I highly doubt it, these demons are going to keep coming back to haunt him. Look at Scott Hall. Jeff is one hell of a competitor and if he does go back to WWE, it will be a one-off appearance with Matt or something.

I think I have a legitimate way for Hardy & WWE to work out a deal for a return, they can give him the schedule that Lesnar currently has or similar to Lesnar's deal, have him only work Raw's & PPV's without missing Raw's & PPV's,maybe some Smackdown shows,no house shows.

Money isn't an issue for Hardy he doesn't care that much for money, within reason,of course

The feud between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy centered around Straight Edge vs recovering drug user. The feud between CM Punk and Chris Jericho centered around Jericho accusing Punk of breaking that Straight Edge code that he became militant about during that feud.

It's no surprise that WWE mentioned the Hardy feud. It's a major part of a major character's career, they own the footage, and they might as well make use of it. Better to exploit that history and whatever media they have from it than to completely ignore it.

In short, it's not a major event.

The question is pretty self-explanatory. Basically I want to know if people would actually like to see jeff back in the WWE.

I personally would love to see Jeff Hardy come back. He was the only person i used to like in the WWE. I loved his entrance. Always something different. That's something I haven't seen him do in TNA during his entrance which really sucks cos' when he comes out and does that kinda dance thing, it really pumps you up for what's going to be an awesome match. Especially now with how much weight he's lost and how much fitter he's looking, he'd just be so much better than what he was in his last run.

So anyway what do you guys think. Do you want to see him back or not?

No. Jeff Hardy is under contract with TNA.

They don't hint returns when another guy is clearly wrestling on another show.

Come on man. Get that imagination under control.

This is over analyzation at its finest.

WWE has had some really good articles lately where they actually (gasp) acknowledge history. This goes along with their new "Classics" section where they have profiles of people like Sting and plenty of old matches involving stars who are currently in TNA. They even had photos of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan from Ring of Honor in an article recently.

None of this means anything out of the ordinary, except WWE wanting to get hits on their website. Which is nothing out of the ordinary.

Jeff is not coming back. First of all, he probably doesn't want to, and even if he did, WWE is not going to take the risk again after what happened after he left in 2009. They have plenty of top faces now and are not in dire need for another one.

i am personally a huge jeff hardy fan and hope that he will return to wwe one day. but if he does make a return, the wwe would have to let him spend a lot of time with his family so that he stays happy. i also believe that if he makes a return, he would retire from wrestling within three years and have it be as a wwe superstar.

i think that him being clean as a member of tna is a sign that he is done with substance abuse. now that he has a child, who he loves more than anything, he wouldnt want her to lose respect for him or take part in his old habits by going back to his drug problems.

overall, i think it is only a matter of time before he makes a return run in wwe.

I dont see why this thread had to be bumped since it has been dead for two months, but O.K.

Jeff may or may not have burned some bridges with the WWE before he left, I doubt they really wanted him to go when he did.

Drug addiction has a little more to it than loving your new child and swearing off it completely, Jeff has only been Clean a few months and there is plenty of space for a Relapse yet. WWE wouldn't take the risk unless they were certain he was going to stay clean.
I would love Both Hardy's to make a series of "legends" returns in the late future, and yes I would like to see Jeff wrestle again as a WWE superstar, but I doubt its gonna happen.

Personally, I don't have much faith in a Jeff Hardy return. His drug problems and the intense WWE schedule are the primary reasons why he left in the first place. During his feud with Punk, when he was about to leave, WWE basically offered him the moon & stars to stay, but he turned them down to go to TNA because TNA willingly turned a blind eye to his self destructive ways & habits.

As for WWE mentioning former guys currently working for TNA, it's not so uncommon anymore, especially if WWE is able to use thos names as a means of putting over their own agenda. For instance, WWE mentioned Hardy in this article but look at the subject. Underneath it all, at it's most basic, the article basically tells how CM Punk beat Jeff Hardy and, kayfabe, ran him out of the WWE. WWE has been promoting the No Holds Barred DVD release and referring to it as a "camp classic", meaning that the movie is ridiculous but has a cult following. I'll be honest, NOB is a bad movie that I sometimes like watching. It's a good way to turn your brain off for a few hours. In a way, you might even look at it as WWE kind of poking fun at Hulk Hogan while still using this movie he made for them to make money.

wow alot of you are little bitches. You act like jeff hardy ruined your lifes cause he did what ever he did. I can understand if your mad at him for victory road, but god you guys a butt hurt over some guy doing what millions of others do.

And when it comes to evan bourne, jesus christ all he did was smoke pot, grow up.

Well sunshine if anyone is butthurt it is you....people have a problem with your darling Jeff and you post a comment that barely (if at all) contributes to the topic at hand.

I have no problem with Jeff, I am thoroughly entertained by his in ring work and his Arty Gimmick. My post just stated facts (or just my personal opinion) on how business' who pay people lots of money to do things work.
If I was Vince McMahon (which ofcourse I am not) I would not risk money and face on a Jeff Hardy return.
I would kick bourne to the curb right now because he is indeed expendable....and I would punish Orton severely but keep him on TV to please fans.

I like smoking a bit of weed every now and then just like the next guy, but if I was earning the money these guys were earning....and also doing the job I loved, Sweat, Bled and worked really hard at for several years to do. I would never risk that career for a simple high.
At the very least I would have learned my lesson the first time I got caught.

Don't get me wrong here, if I had my way I would have Jeff in the WWE right now, and Bourne.....and I still pop for Orton when he makes a shock return. But from a strictly business point of view, it would be a risk I'm not willing to take.

To be quite honest, I've never been a huge Jeff Hardy fan. He did do alot to help make the TLC matches famous with all the high-risk stuff, but, that was as a tag team wrestler. When they took Jeff Hardy out of that element, I don't think he ever really recovered. He did do fairly well on his own, but, he never quite hit that popularity that the Hardy Boyz had before[neither did Matt, in Jeff's defense].

I pretty much agree with most of what has already been said here. Jeff seems happy in TNA since they don't care about his drug problems[as long as he's not visibly in bad shape, like Victory Road]. I do admire the fact that Hardy seems sober again and is performing on a consistent basis. Do I think WWE would want Jeff Hardy back? Yes, but, only under the right circumstances. He'd have to strictly adhere to the WWE Wellness Policy and we all know his past history on that. Hardy has already said he likes the schedule in TNA more than WWE, so, I don't believe Hardy would return to WWE unless they gave him a shorter schedule[which wouldn't happen].

I see the possibility for Jeff to return to WWE, but, highly unlikely.

If he's staying sober now that he has a daughter, I don't see him going on the road with WWE for the same fact, he doesn't have to travel all the much for TNA just usually starting on impact tapings and weekend house shows he's probably home 4 or 5 days a week. When she's older I could see him making a WWE return but how old would he be then. If he stayed sober til then I don't think WWE would have any problems rehiring him then honestly.

I would love to see Jeff Hardy return to WWE, He is my favorite wrestler of all time, but I think to him his daughter would be more important then returning, and I don't blame him if he never does.
