ECW needs to be separate from wwe to make it successful...Back when it was on at 12am on some weird local channel all you saw was good matches with great fans...ECW's adoring fan base is going to watch this CRAP WWE has re-released as ECW and are going to be upset...ECW is not all about cameras and huge crowds the small enviornment made it so spectacular...as a regualar at most ECW arena shows and a few PPVs i have to say what i saw on Tuesday night was absolute crap and my hopes are all smashed in having ECW back to what it used to be....

Battle Royals?...Cut Scenes??....THe Zombie?? this isnt ECW...ECW was underground and violent and raw...this is just some new face of WWE...i hope they change....if not i feel they will lose support and it will eventually fall off the air...It needs to be its own show in the small arenas again...that connection with fans needs to be made...the Entrances need to go back to real music by real artists with no fireworks....Is it really the same having the Sandman without Metallica...or having RVD enter an areana without 2000 people chanting RE...SPECT...WALK....

Putting the ECW of old back on the air would be great with no WWE people involved unless they truly wanted to be in a way that wasnt about stupid storylines....They boasted wrestling...they boasted the rebirth of extreme....where is it...:shit:

i never really watched ecw. it didnt get that much hype or coverage in the uk until 2000 when it was pretty much over. i have to say though, from what ive seen of the ecw fans they look like the best and craziest in any form of sports entertainment. im glad they kept on throwing cenas t-shirt back to him at ons 2 and ive never heard such a vocal crowed in any wrestling event.

anyway, i was just wondering whether this ECW is true to the old ECW, or is it just wwe's take on it. this may be a really stupid question but do they use real blood??????????
was terry funk really bleading that bad at ons2??

It's just WWE's take on it. I'm still not sure if Vince was smoking something & thought this was what an ECW show should be like, or if he was just making fun of another wrestling company he helped shut down. I'm leaning towards the second one, though. It really must suck to be one of the ex-ECW wrestlers who signed a contract with Vince, thinking they were going to get another good run.

But yeah, that was real blood.

i saw ons 2 and thought it was a good show, mainly coz the crowed hyped me up so much. i havnt felt that excited about wrestling since i was a kid......the hairs on the back of my neck were standing!!!!

mind you i also really enjoyed wwe vs ecw. that was also good fun. i never thought fans were so loyal to each particular organisation. basically im trying to say that i though ecw ons would just have standard wwe fans........i couldnt have been more worng!!

we dont get the ecw show that aired last night until sunday but i checked the spoilers and it seemed a bit crap - like wwe's take on it.

n e way, about the blood...........does ecw always use real blood then??? wwe doesnt right? i mean hhh and flair have looked more bloody than sum1 from a car wreck in previous matches but have still been able to walk out of the arena on 2 feet. whats up with that?

blood mixes with sweat and retains its overall color and texture Plus you bleed 3 times faster from the forehead area of your body

Yep, Both ECW and WWE use real blood most of the time, I don't know if the is true but i heard wrestlers carry a razor type blade to open their foreheads and stuff like that, that's why WWE was pressed with all of those charges in Kentuky, as far as the amouts of blood, Akine82 said it best

Back in the day it used to be fake blood, but now they do carry blades, or the hidden around the ring, or under it and sometimes the ref has it. I see a ref hand shawn michaels a blade while wrestling Undertaker.

I 100% agree that the WWE focus needs to be taken away from the ECW Product at the current time.

I believe that the WWE creative team has far too much input into the shows, as does Sci Fi. The ECW show I saw on Tuesday barely deserved a 6/10 rating, and definitly nothing more. Yes it was good, for a WWE show, but nothing what I expected to see from an ECW one. Heyman needs to be given complete control over what happens within ECW, with McMahons financial backing.

I guess aslong as McMahon is involved in ECW there is going to be little chance of him not wanting it to be like WWE.

I still say that taping before or after SmackDown is silly. ECW should not be in these large arenas, and they need to be performing in front of a true ECW crowd. If cost is an issue, why not hire out the old ECW arena, once a month and tape four shows in a row, similar to what TNA does with Impact? Just change the crowd every 2 hours or something.

And, don't have ECW matches on WWE PPVs, it complete defeats the object of having ECW separate.

i agree w/you brother! this new product is garbage so far. the 2nd one night stand PPV was even different compared to last year. this year there were no surprises at all like last year-no stone cold, no big brawl at the end, now BWO, nothing. The Zombie almost made me pee myself laughing, sandman does need Metallica back, they need to do something-bring it back to the hammerstein ballroom or somewhere small and cozy, but ECW in front of 10,000 + fans? that's NOT ecw at all...c' mon vince, you took the time and $ to do this, DO IT RIGHT

Right now we have to give it some time. Yeah, it is not like the ECW of old, but they did say that this is a new ECW. They need good stories, actors...I mean wrestlers (just kidding there) and of course a channel for those north of the border. We don't get Sci Fi, the closest we have to it is Space, and they will not have it. So the question is, will it go the way of XFL, or something very good.
