Is Miz and Jericho a bit too predictable?

Miz will never ever get the level of respect he should get, as a 10 time champion, the only one in recent years to make the US championship meaningful and an underdog-success story overall. Miz is a great midcard heel, heck I'd love to see him hold the US championship longer than Dean's reign and actually defend it but totally heel, now my whole worrying is about the Raw match with Jericho.

He would lose no doubt, that I don't have a problem with but I don't want a match between him and Jericho to go on for 5 minutes and an interference or distraction of Wyatt mid match, I would only not mind if a distracted jericho takes a SKF from Miz from behind and Miz flees from the Wyatts.

thoughts, opinions, anyone?

The problem is that nobody likes the Miz. Not the kind of dislike that means he gets great heel heat. The kind that everytime you see him on tv you become uninterested in the product. Del Rio is the same caliber. People just don't want to see these two guys.

There's talk of a Jericho vs. Miz match happening on Raw tomorrow night and of a rematch happening at Battleground before Jericho meets Bray Wyatt for SummerSlam. Various reports suggest that WWE wants SummerSlam and Night of Champions to both be really big shows and, frankly, Miz isn't a big deal right now and really hasn't been for the better part of 2 years. SummerSlam is a marquee show, it's one of the original Big Four WWE ppvs and it's the 3rd highest drawing ppv of the year, so I suspect they'll hold off on Jericho vs. Wyatt until then.

In the meantime, they need to give Jericho something to do while simultaneously building his program with Wyatt. If they have a match tomorrow night on Raw, I have a feeling it'll be pretty competitive and will end with The Wyatt Family popping up to cause the DQ, a no contest or providing enough distraction for Miz to score a win before they beat Jericho down. Miz & Jericho have their rematch for Battleground, Jericho scores the win and moves onto Wyatt. All in all, it's pretty predictable that Jericho goes over in his feud with Miz, but so what? If you've watched wrestling long enough and pay attention to what's going on, you can predict what's gonna happen 75-80% of the time. Being genuinely unpredictable in doing something that catches most people by surprise that both GETS OVER and MAKES SENSE doesn't happen all that often. Hell, it can't happen all that often when you think about it. If Jericho shows he's still got it in the ring, Miz doesn't come off looking like a complete buffoon, delivers a few entertaining matches while increasing anticipation for Jericho vs. Wyatt, then that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

I don't mind Miz as a heel. Really he doesn't bother me on the mic or in the ring either. I hate his face though. He's just one of those people that has a face that makes me want to punch him. I don't think he should have ever been WWE champion but I have no problem with him being a mid card champion. When they try to make him a face though I can't buy into it.

As far as working a program with Jericho I think Jericho can bring out some good in him. Even though I feel like he's below Jericho's level. Yeah he was WWE champ once but as I stated I couldn't buy him as the champ.

That's your opinion. I'll take a Miz or Alberto Del Rio match over a Bray Wyatt match any day of the week. Miz and Del Rio are talents who make any match more credible by being in it. The Miz headlined a WrestleMania and Alberto Del Rio main evented two of them. Either of them against Chris Jericho is easily a SummerSlam worthy match.

The Miz is dreadful, but if Del Rio were a foot smaller and ugly, the IWC would worship at the alter of his nutsack. Tremendous athlete.

The big problem with Miz is he plateaued a while ago. After his run as WWE Champion, a lot of us were waiting to see what's next for The Miz. But Miz hit a ceiling, and he hit it fast. He's a serviceable mid card heel at best, and that's it. Miz will probably have another US or IC title run somewhere down the line, and WWE might squeeze him into a MITB match, but the ship for Miz being a mainstay as a top guy sailed a long time ago.

Also, Michael Cole played a big part in helping Miz's run as a heel before his MITB win and during his run as WWE Champion. Cole's annoying role as this obnoxious cheerleader for Miz on commentary, promos, and in-ring segments generated tons of heat for Miz, but he doesn't have Cole (and you could say Cole was at the top of the list for hated heels in WWE during his "Cole Miners" phase) as a crutch to lean on anymore.

It looks like WWE has plans to use Miz as a stepping stone/tune up guy for Jericho before he faces Bray, so Jericho can show everyone he's still sharp in the ring. Maybe they'll give Miz a chance to look like a worthy competitor, but I expect a series of decisive wins from Jericho.

i want to like the miz he is a good story.. long time WWE fan and worked his way up to achieving his dream.. Good on the mic and decent in the ring but the problem is like someone said before was i hate his face!! all i can think about is the real world when i see him.. imagine tho they throw us a swerve with Miz gettin a clean victory over jericho on raw with bray wyatt watching from the stage then getting into jerichos head leading into summerslam then bray going over jericho!! but we all know the predictability of the WWE and that wont go like that!

Sounds like your living off the past. Miz being in the main event means nothing, King Kong Bundy was in the main event once, do we look at his as being a legend?

I'd pass on Del Rio vs Miz vs Y2J for Summerslam let alone a singles match. Miz is closer to being let go from WWE then he is from ever being a star, hes a star like Ted Dibiase Jr was going to be the future. Miz just doesn't show the desire like he once did, and the fans no longer care about him. When fans care, they make a HUGE pop when a guy returns. He didn't get that.. At all.

And much as I like Y2J, and I do since his days in ECW. He has been the same in WWE for years. Very stale, very predictable, the same can be said for Miz, but I was never a fan of his, but I see him going no where. When Miz did leave he was going from being a heel to a face back to a heel on a weekly basis, some times doing it on the same show.

Someone doesn't have to be presently be at the top of the card to be a top star. It's one thing to say Big Bossman wasn't a top star after 1999, since he only main evented a single PPV and never got back to that status. It's another to say Alberto Del Rio isn't a top star, the guy has main evented two WrestleManias, two SummerSlams, and a dozen other PPV events, and is a 4-Time World Champion. The Miz headlined a WrestleMania and main evented PPV events for months. With the exception of celebrities, I think it's fair to say that anyone who ever headlined a WrestleMania is a permanent top star.

The feud is predictable.

What would surprise me is if they have a rematch at Summerslam while Jericho finally faces Wyatt at NoC.

Miz is the perfect utility guy. I can't say he's underappreciated.

He pretty much do what he is supposed to well.

I actually think Miz will go over. Granted, Bray will cost Jericho the victories, but I think Miz will get the win, or even a few wins over Y2J. This will give Miz some momentum and Jericho will get into a feud with Bray. It's a win-win-win as it will give Miz more bragging rights and will establish him as a heel again. Jericho is back and in an interesting feud that can last a few weeks/months. And Bray gets the rub for working with Y2J. This isn't for sure, but I think this is the way they should go

I wouldn't presume Miz would lose a match against Jericho. It depends on several factors, chiefly concerning what Creative plans to do with both guys this time around.

It can no longer be assumed that Chris Jericho will be competing for world championships. In this latter part of his career, he seems to be willing to subjugate his ego in order to build the reps of other performers....probably in exchange for the special privileges he rates as someone who is allowed to come and go from WWE as he pleases. He could lose to the Miz if management comes to Chris and lays out the plan they'd like him to follow.

As for the Miz, the company needs to decide what they truly want to do with him, starting with whether he's going to be a regular performer.....or a crossover personality, making movies and hosting quiz shows, or whatever it is he's been trying to do. Also, they need to decide whether he's a heel or face.....and keep him there.

Yes, Miz could win a series of matches from Chris Jericho if Creative is finally given the go-ahead to make it happen.......or, Y2J could stomp Miz on his way to whatever management has planned for him.

Either way, I don't necessarily see a Jericho-Miz series as predictable.

The Miz is good fodder for Jericho. Jericho should win one big match before inevitably losing to Bray and The Miz is a good choice. Firstly, The Miz should be treated as a top-tier guy and pairing him with Jericho, in theory, promotes that notion.

Secondly, Jericho can get a good match out of anyone. The Miz isn't all that in the ring but him and Jericho should be able to deliver. Even if The Miz loses to Jericho it is still going to be an interesting, entertaining feud that gets us noticing both.

Poor Miz, if this storyline is just to promote Y2J vs the Wyatt's - nobody wins!

Just look at Bray; he's went from feuding with D-Bry (coming out on top) to feuding with Cena (losing but shaking the Cenation in the process) to feuding with a guy whose last run was most memorable for giving the rub to Fannnnn... dannnnnn... goooo! Obviously, Jericho is on the opposite side of that equation. As for Miz, to be the forgotten man in Jericho's return angle doesn't bode well,

I suppose it can be changed round - force Miz and Jericho into an alliance (possibly with Ziggler who also appears to be kinda aimless at the present) to attempt to overcome Sister Abigail's boys... but, presently, I can't think of any way forward that'll be mutually beneficial to all concerned going forward.

The Miz is shit in the ring and is annoying on the mic. WWE puts him in spots way above his capabilities which just echo the fact that he lives off what he does outside the ring almost exclusively. Him jobbing to Chris Jericho is no skin off my back.

You saying he's annoying on the mic is what makes him a perfect heel. You're getting worked. He's supposed to be annoying. At first it was because he was a reality star who thought that made him above everyone else, and now it's because he thinks he's a Hollywood superstar because he starred in one mediocre movie. It's genius.

I think the Miz is dreadful, and that giving him the WWE Championship and WrestleMania main event was the biggest misjudgement in wrestling history. He looks, talks, and wrestles like a fool. Miz is irritating, but in the wrong way: he's one of those folks who makes me channel surf when he's on.

I couldn't disagree more. I DESPISED The Miz when he first debuted in WWE. But he worked his ass off and impressed the hell out of me. By 2009 he was one of my favorites on the roster, and I was a big fan of his main event run. He's very good in the ring and on certain nights he can even be great, his heel character was great on the mic (face, not so much), and I'd rather see him headline events than half of WWE's current crop of next generation stars.
