Is it just me or is Santino getting the biggest pops??

Well the title speaks for itself.

For a few weeks now iv been watching Santino coming out to some of the biggest pops on the current roster. Hell, even louder than Cena's but Cenas pops r mixed with boos. Well Santinos pops were id say as much as Edges. I swear Christians return wasnt as loud as santinos entrance.

Ok hes a funny guy, ok performer. shitty finisher. I mean seriously ur supposed to faint cuz of four fingers to the neck or face or wherever.

He had some of the funniest segments in recent memory but loud pops then were understandable but y now when his comedy acts have gone down the drain???

Yeah, a jab to the throat with relaxed fingers can easily kill someone, used in plenty of martial arts, and very much so in Wing Chun. So actually a good finisher. It's the same principal as the Samoan Spike, and that got over as a lethal finisher.

I noticed that too the crowd loves him, Cena's responses are pretty loud but you only hear high pitched voices chanting CENA CENA which confirms the theory that most of his fans are teenage girls and pre pubescent boys.. kinda like Jeff Hardy's fanbase. Santino seems to be pretty popular across the board, hopefully they'll get him back in singles competition with a feud with Kozlov, I think everybody's pretty tired of seeing those two together. What is with WWE and turning the big guys who are supposed to be big tough monster dudes into goofy comic relief characters like Khali Kozlov and to some extent the Big Show

Every live event that I have attended and Santino was wrestling. He was the biggest pop of the night.

The fans enjoy that he's a guy who can wrestle, is likable, is not shoved down our throat and is not taken too seriously whilst not being a complete goof (like Eugene).

There was a time when Santino held the IC Title for a long period of time. I also think he won the IC Title on debut. The dude is a good asset for the WWE and I think Vince really likes him. Santino can be pushed as a good mid-card wrestler when this Santino/Kozlov team dies over (which I hope isn't for a while as its a good competing tag team, that is also perfect for getting new heel teams over).

Santino gets big crowd reactions because he is entertaining. When you hear Santinos entrance music, you're expecting to see some funny entertainment. I'm not saying he has to be WWE Champion, everyone knows that won't happen. But Santino is like couch we lay back on when we're done hearing Cena cut a promo [And i think we have been done hearing it for years.]

He's entertaining, that's what he's there for. I personally love the Cobra. It's a good martial arts finisher. But it's not meant to be serious. The IWC, for the most part, has realized not to take Santino seriously.

But that's why he gets huge pops. He's a funny guy, funnier gimmick, and pulls it off really well.

When it comes right down to it, Santino is entertaining both as a winner and as a loser. His character is hilarious and he plays it to the hilt, no matter whether losing or winning. Plus, he truly can wrestle (as has been observed) and is probably the best wrestler at selling damage that the WWE has, hands down. That counts for something. He's also completely likable even if a bit dense and egotistical.

He's also someone that has been able to make himself loved despite massive losing streaks. Santino can draw almost more when he loses than when he wins. Yeah, his finisher doesn't look like much to someone that doesn't understand it, but given his MMA background, it meshes pretty darn well with his character. The fact that it isn't all that spectacular works with his gimmick. He seems, to the casual observer, like a total lightweight and yet, is stubbornly successful.

You are correct, he did win the IC Title in his debut. Against the seemingly unstoppable Umaga.

Santino looked decent when he held the IC title. I think if they shave his eyebrow and maybe let him stop being such a "joker" in the ring, he could have some decent mid card matches.

Yes, Santino gets a huge reaction from the crowd. No, he is not funny. I suppose he was a bit funny back in 2008 and some of 2009, but he never has really made me laugh. I find him extremely annoying as a face. I enjoyed his heel character and his Intercontinental championship reigns. I will admit that he was entertaining, but only when he was a heel. I always looked forward to his Honkameter.

actually, i saw santino at a live event give a hell of a match so im sure wwe could give him some kind of push...like someone here said, he's not going to be wwe champion, but given the chance he could really become a strong midcarder

Santino is extremely over. The fucker is funny, all there is to it. His Cobra is becoming something of a people's elbow- though that hurts like a motherfucker, believe me. I haven't heard him get a bigger pop than Cena- except for one Raw in London. But he certainly get's the second or third biggest pop of the night on a weekly basis.

His comedy acts aren't going down the drain, there just haven't been any for a few weeks. It'll pick back up, I promise. Santino isn't going away.

His pops are definitely louder than most....but even with that I cannot see Santino going above this level at the moment as his pops are for many his comic relief and for Santino to go higher to a mainly mid-card he has to turn heel...but could you imagine the boos then!

If given the chance, Santino can go far. He is already over but they're only keeping him as a comedy skit on raw. He is getting stuck the same way that Eugene did. Hopefully the WWE realize that he could go far if they actually gave him a push and do it. I have always been a fan of Santino, hopefully now Santino and kozlov have lost the titles they can break up and Santino will get the push he deserves and the fans want.

Yea everytime he comes out he gets a huge reaction. I persomally think hes really funny, and hes a decent wrestler too. Like someone said before, if he dropped the comedian act he could be one hell of a mid card wrestler. I remember when he held the IC Championship, it was a really good run.

The crowd love his gimmick, he isnt serious and has huge charisma. His cobra is a crack up finisher and i laughed the first time I saw it. Maybe if they shaved his monobrow, take out his comedic moveset and axe his joke around gimmick then he could put on more serious matches.
