It's Nathan actually, not nathen. And I made this thread and i'm an 18 year old barman. Not a 40 year old a basement dwelling moron. Why try to judge people before you actually know the facts?
Ok so I am going to clear something up about this thread. I'm going to say (which i should have said at the start) what I think of Hogan.
I respect the hell out of the guy. He has dedicated most of his working life to what he does now..
BUT..
In my opinion, he does annoy me for a couple of reasons..
1. Yes, i think he really needs to give it up and let the spotlight shine on some younger blood. the man is 57 for god sake. As long The Hulkster is still in TNA, the young'uns will feel and act they are being over shadowed.
2. Hogan knows best? What the hell.. That was a waste of T.V air time. Yes, we all know he has a family. Yes, we know he has a huge mansion. And it was shoved down our throat. It was all dramatised and even the whole family annoyed me.
3. Mr. America. Need I say?
Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! You're an 18 years old
barman? Well hot damn, sport - you've made it to the highest echelons of the galaxy! The world's your oister! Let it rain, son! Let it rain!
Any****e, allow me to rudely make fun of your personal tastes. For the lulz.
So, you don't like Hogan because he's stealing the spotlight from the y
... I'm sorry, I fell asleep. I've just heard this tired old complaint so many times, it's ridiculious. Here's a fun question. Someone your age should have as much fun with it as with a key chain. Why do people act as if TNA was all about the young guys before Hogan limped his way into TNA land?
"Stealing the spotlight from the young guys". What spotlight? Where? Thirty seconds? Is that the spotlight? Because that's how much TV time he got last week. He usually cuts a promo in the beginning of the show and GTFOs for the rest of it.
Plus, in case you haven't noticed, TNA is doing a fine job showcasing enough people on Impact Wrestling. Now I know, you'll start bringing up names, but here's the dealio - they can't cram the entire roster in two hours with or without Hogan "stealing the spotlight". Because if they did you'd be here complaining about how there's too many things going on and you don't know what's happening. There's always something. Always.
Is "stealing the spotlight" a valid issue, or is it just a silly way to cry about Hulk Hogan being in TNA? Please, be more original with those things. At least come up with something new like ... his bald dome shines into the camera. SOMETHING!
Now, back to my point about the young guys never really being the focal point of TNA. You're acting as if Hogan came in, started hogging the spotlight and wrestling in the Main Event, previously populated by young wrestlers ONLY.
That's not how I remember it. I remember Sting having the belt. I remember Angle having the belt. I remember Mick Foley having the belt and Main Eventing, taking up a LOT of TV time as well. I can go further back as well. You have Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, Ken Shamrock all a part of the Main Event. All these men had their respective feuds with other older people or younger talent, and no one seems to moan about them stealing the spotlight. People who actually wrestled on iMPACT. People who cut promos on iMPACT. People who take up a LOT more TV time than Hogan does these days.
Yet we're going to sit here and pretend like Hogan is the devil because he cuts a fucking promo every other week? He's Hulk fucking Hogan. They'd be idiots not to showcase him in some capacity.
Plus, it's not like the numbers are plummeting when he's on. Him and Bischoff were both in segments which drew a 1.4 and a 1.5 you know. Recently. Yet the young guys, the X-Division in particular, has some of the lowest QH's of the show. Tells you something, doesn't it? But go on, blame it on how TNA's booking them. Twist it, turn it, play with it. Facts remain - Sting vs Hogan in 2011 will sell a whole HECK of a lot more than some young guys who don't know how to cut promos, don't know how to wrestle and can't draw flies in a shit factory.
Who's that one young guy that will draw for TNA? Samoa Joe? The Pope? AJ Styles? Matt Morgan? Shelley? Sabin? Who? Joe's getting gassed in two minutes, does a mean face, a suicide dive and thinks his shit don't stink. Pope can't be a good heel to save his balls, and that doesn't scream Main Event to me. AJ is my favorite wrestler in the whole wide world, he's phenomenal, but he's never been a draw. He's an amazing wrestler but not good enough on the mic to sell PPVs, and the only people who will PAY to see him do Spiral Taps are the smarks who like that sort of thing.
The only guy that I can see being a draw is Robert Roode. That's from the young guys. Overall, the next money maker is Bully Ray, but I digress.
Hogan Knows Best? Mr.America? ... whut? You don't like what he did in WWE and outside of wrestling? I'm not a fan too, but I don't hate the guy because of it. I don't find him annoying either. How can you find someone annoying based on what he did in the past? He'd be annoying if he had a fucked up voice a-la Vickie Guerrero, or if just had one of those mugs that you wanna slap a-la Miz. But this? I can separate character from rea llife. I would act like I did despise him if I simply wanted to jump on the Hogan Hate Wagon like everybody else so I feel like I belong, but I don't. I have things to associate myself with. Being a mark and ... stuff.
In the end, a LOT of the Hogan hate is so unwarranted. It's amazing how quickly fans turn on the biggest name in this industry just because of his age and his personal life. "Thank you and fuck off, Hulkster! I hope you're enjoying all the hardware in your back that's there because you wanted to entertain my stupid ass! Thanks! Sorry that you wasted your health and life for unappreciative little ***** like meself. But hey, joke's on you! Now beat it you old scallywag!"
P.S: If you truly
