Is Dibiase the next Ziggler?

Dark Match Winner
Ok now last night before the Elimination Chamber pay-per view there was a dark match for the U.S championship pitting Daniel Bryan against Ted Dibiase with Bryan defeating Dibiase for like the 10th time making him tap out to the Labell lock. Now last year or the year before that over on smackdown Dolph Ziggler had multiple matches with Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, and Kofi Kingston over the Intercontinental championship and always came up short in those matches when finally last year in the summer a couple weeks before the biggest event of the summer Summerslam with a little help from Vickie Guererro Ziggler finally defeated Kofi Kingston and won the Intercontinental title and from there he reached the main event after a few months build-up and was even the World champion for one night before getting beaten by Edge.

So my question is will Dibiase defeat Bryan and take the same route as Dolph Ziggler and reach the main event?

If something was posted similar to this then I apologize and please stick with the topic.

I doubt it since Ted isn't as good as Ziggler and he hasn't faced anyone else besides Bryan. Ziggler's matches with those guys made it look like he'd beat them eventually.

If he is, then he's nothing. "Dolph Ziggler" is not a name that is prestigious enough to merit being a position within the company, the way a "Hulk Hogan" or "Jimmy Snuka" or "Mick Foley" or "The Rock" is. Compared to them, Dolph Ziggler is a nothing. A non-entity---for the moment.

If Ted DiBiase is the "next" Dolph Ziggler, then that speaks incredibly poorly for his career; we'll see him in midcard hell for the next 5 or 6 years before getting an actual minor push?

I'm a fan of Dolph Ziggler, I think he deserves to be pushed by the WWE. He has an incredible amount of talent in the ring, his matches when he was soughting after the Intercontinental Championship, against Rey and John Morrison were all top-notch. And it showed him as a good wrestler.

His mic work is good, but it's nothing special. He has that look about him, like a pre-Madonna. He reminds me in ways of Shawn Michaels.

I think him getting that World Heavyweight Championship "reign" was a very poor decision. I won't be looking at it personally, but I think they just want Dolph to be on RAW in the long-term, possibly for something with Danielson.

That's Dolph, but Ted is a whole different story.

In Japan Ted DiBiase was great, nothing like he is in WWE. If they allowed him to use his proper Dream Street finisher, which is another variation of the Million Dollar Dream, had him drop his stupidness and let him have a bit of swagger and style like he did a few months ago, he's get over like charm.

But asides from when his annoying music hits, he gets no real heat or reaction. The reactions that he gets aren't even for him, they're for Maryse because she's hot!

DiBiase currently has nothing on Dolph Ziggler.

If Ted DiBiase is the "next" Dolph Ziggler, then that speaks incredibly poorly for his career;

Hang on a moment. True, Dolph Ziggler is not ideally the iconic superstar that puts butts in there seats. But in the past year alone, the man did work his way up from a locker room joke into a world champion. If Ted DiBiase can get half the feuds and push that Dolph received, he can at least hold a mid card title. And from there, who knows... I certainly didn't think Dolph would be a world champion this time last year.

well it seems to come down to talent (to a degree) and hard work, look at the miz! he was a crappy singles wrestle an okay tag wrestler and after plenty of hard work he is the wwe champion. but that is just my take on that.

DiBiase is totally being underutilized. He's had two great matches against Bryan when given time, as shown at Survivor Series and on NXT. He's had impressive showings against Orton. I think what Ted needs is to be moved to Smackdown where he can show off his talents. Look what it's done for Cody? He'll be in a high-profile match against Rey Mysterio.

So he could be the next Dolph Ziggler, the guy who has yet to have a match at Wrestlemania, the guy who has had one world title reign lasting all of 5 minutes, the guy with maybe the most bland character in the company, and the guy who can only draw heat when paired with the biggest heat magnet in the company...something tells me this isn't a distinction Ted Dibiase will be clamoring to acquire.

Seriously, I don't see anythign special about Dibiase or Ziggler. Both are competent workers, but nothing about either of them makes me want to turn on me TV every week. So, in that sense Dibiase already is the next Ziggler, just as Ziggler is the next Dibiase.

^couldnt have said it better myself.

ziggler sucks so does dibase. Average in the ring and no pormo skills. And they both have terrible finishers

Dolph Ziggler is one of the best the WWE has to offer as far his in-ring ability is concerned,he put up credible matches against guys like Mysterio,Morrison nd Kofi Kingston...He put up great character nd had some unbelievable matches...He came short everytime..but finally won it nd went to become the World Heavyweight Champion after a few months
And as far as Ted DiBiasi is concerned.he's got the name,He's got the look of a champion,He has it all to become the face of WWE
Now DiBiasi has to b traded to Friday Nights for one reason only is that SD builds new superstars RAW doesn't,Had Ziggler been on RAW he wud been the next Zack Ryder or William Regal
So send him to SD! make him a babyface, have a feuds with guys like McIntyre,Ziggler,Del Rio nd Kane to further push him as a top face,Give him a two or three reigns as the IC champion...nd then push him for the big one the WHC,but knowing DiBiasi is not as half as good his father is as per Mic abilities,he shud work on it

Ted DiBiase becoming the next anything at this stage is much better than playing the gimmick he's playing now... but the next Dolph Ziggler? Now that's not much better.
