IMPACT Wrestling LD for 05.10.12

Show has been great so far. I am pretty excited for the main event. And to see what the secrete for AJ is.

Let's not go that far. Neither are very good as wrestlers, both are pretty good to look at, both have been in magazines because of their looks, but Kelly makes more money from her wrestling gig. All told, they are the same person in different companies I think. People root for them because, you know. titties and butts.

Not really. I care about how they look, sure, but that isn't why I like them. My favorite women's wrestler is Sara Del Rey, nothing special to look at but talented as hell in the ring. Brooke Tessmacher is much better than Kelly in the ring, Kelly Kelly can't even run the ropes correctly yet. WWE just push her because of the fact she gets these magazine deals, they have to keep her somewhat relevant. But she is a dreadful wrestler. I'd take a lot less looking women with more in-ring talent over her any day in the week.

No, there isn't, because fact is that ratings show that whenever a "TNA guy" is in that type of position, ratings do not reflect positively. It's why TNA has relied so heavily in the past on "WWE rejects" to sell the product. When guys like Angle and Sting were champ, ratings were always at their highest. The ONLY guy who came close was Styles, but that was in 2009 before the Hogan era — a completely different time in the company.

So, the fact that literally a couple hundred thousands people (which is a lot for this company) have stopped watching over the past two months and not really before that doesn't support what I just said? For the first few months, ratings were fine. Only lately have they dropped. You don't think there's a correlation? The diehards are always going to tune in (unless there's a Ranger game on :icon_wink:) but the casual fans have tuned out because they are bored.

I was fine with the reign for a while, but he NEEDED to lose to Storm because it was getting old fast. Now he's still there and ratings are down. I don't think it's a coincidence.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd like for awesome women's wrestlers to make a name for themselves in the industry too. Heck, my buddy's cousin wrestles and she's pretty good too but she hasn't gotten a break yet. Her ring name is Rayna Von Tosh if you're interested. That said, the majority of wrestling fans don't care like we do whether or not the girls can wrestle. Sad but true.

I'm one of them. Don't care who it is — have never, and will never enjoy women's wrestling.

To say that Brooke is much better than kelly is a bit of a reach i think their both about or close to equal. Difference is knockouts get 5 minutes divas get 1.

For SHIMMER? I know of her alright. I used to ignore women's wrestling, but Trish Stratus, Lita and Mickie changed my mind and then once Ring of Honor starting have the odd women's match I got more into it. Not an avid fan but I admire those that have talent.

One person TNA should never have released is Bonnie Maxon, who managed Roode for a bit, she went to AAA and had some great matches. Would be a real additive to the Knockouts division.

They should re-shoot that Direct Auto Insurance advert and put Bully Ray in there.

"Get Direct Auto Insurance, or I'll break your freakin' legs!!"

What's odd is that so many point to Trish but she was AWFUL when she first started. She was a model like so many others who was there to look good but she put work in and got better. She wasn't like a Lita or Mickie who trained from day one and was only seen on TV once they could work. I feel like it's a different breed and while Trish was good, she convinced wrestling organizations that any model can become a wrestler and that's why we have what we have today.

As for Rayna, she's a fan like the rest of us. Trust me, her cousin is a HUGE wrestling nerd and I love him for it. She loved the business and decided to train and got training with ROH (first woman to do so). She can go but just hasn't gotten her break yet. I actually took over her hebrew school class when she started having wrestling gigs on Sundays. I wish her all the best and I hope someone signs her. She deserves it.
