IMPACT Wrestling LD for 02.13.14 — Contention, Caskets and Domestic Violelence!?

"You're going to get what you wished for and it's not going to be what you wanted."

Pretty poor phrasing there.

I understand what she's trying to say it just wasn't worded well.

For those of you counting (meaning me), 90 minutes out of 120 possible tonight have been spent on Dixie vs. MVP or something directly related to it. That's more than Immortal would do a few years back.

How much of RAW & SD! is spent on the Authority or something directly related to them?

Just curious

Overall I liked the show, particularly the debut of the Wolves. Now it's Laker time.

GAH... When's wrestling gonna move on from these Power Struggle/Authority Figure storylines? Make the wrestlers the damn stars of the show. Dixie, HHH/Steph, ain't nobody paying to see that shit.

That's MVP's goal, it seems, so I'd put good money on Team MVP winning at Lockdown so he assumes duties. This allows Dixie to get off screen and back to just running the business, and the focus can finally shift to the wrestlers again.

It also gives TNA the chance to drag this out to Bound For Glory through backroom deals, swerves and contrived plot twists.

Sometimes "simple" is better. Way too much for an hour and a half show. Also, randomly adding gimmick matches isn't a way to gain and maintain new fans. The build to Lockdown has been very random, but I'm sure Lockdown will be a satisfying PPV in it's own right. I may get some heat for that, but I think TNA needs a little bit of Cornette and a little bit of Russo in their creative.

So Kevin Nash made an interesting point on Twitter:

If TNA is a privately owned company, how can there be a hostile takeover?

First off, seriously? Bah gawd Trump didn't actually buy the WWE ever? How could that storyline ever work

Secondly, he has been billed as an investor, which private companies can have. Almost fits the rumors of money problems and Dixie losing some autonomy. #JaniceJungleFever

That doesn't really matter. It's wrestling, it's meant to be crazy and it has always been unrealistic. I mean, Vince gave Laurinaitis a friggin' job evaluation in the WWE ring, live on national television. Jospeh Park was tortured by the Aces and Eights and Bully wasn't sentenced. When there are heel invasions, why doesn't the management just call the cops? This is professional wrestling, that's how things work and Nash himself has been apart of a lot of unrealistic stories.
