IMPACT Wrestling LD for 01.09.14 — Magnus v. Styles — Two Titles, One Champion!

I guess this means Dixie is aligned with Bro Mans and Gail now. Its basically yet another big heel group.

It wouldn't be TNA if they didn't focus almost everything on one idea.

I mean, it makes sense, but it's annoying because they're having it done by interrupting every other angle, match or whatever.

This kind of thing should have been done late in the night, just prior to the match, in one take. Take out Joe, ODB, or whoever else you think might be the one to help AJ.

He has been for years now. he won the title and has lived off that one accomplishment for five years since.

I was actually pumped for the Nation of Violence Samoa Joe when he came back into the company with Taz. Always thought they could have really done something with him playing to his roots like that. They ended that pretty quickly, though.

Too much Dixie, TNA. I like the heel turn, but come on. She doesn't need to be in every fuckin' segment, just like Hogan didn't need to be, and just like Bischoff didn't, and just like every other authority figure you've had in the past didn't.

Find the god damned middle ground, would you?

Another of TNA's major problems.

I miss the old days of having a faceless authority figure like WWF was when I was a kid.

NXT does it perfectly. They have a GM and he shows up MAYBE once every two months. Other than that it's "This match set up by general manager JBL" or "JBL is of cours working behind the scenes to make this show as great as possible."

All the more reason for me to start following NXT too.

Frankly, I'm just kinda tired of the authority figure, period. Just go back to the classic style of challenges being met. You don't always need a guy to force it, though historically speaking, no one was better at it than Jim Cornette.

Shame he's such a whiny, bridge-burning prick, because Jim Cornette the character would be a welcomed re-addition in my book.

Same. It worked for years with Jack Tunney and it can work again here.

Yup. But personally, I really just want to see the return of a more classic format where faces/heels challenge one another and own up to them one-on-one, or two-on-two, etc. Heels are bad guys, faces are good guys, and one, maybe two guys are what you consider a "tweener". Just let the wrestling and the wrestlers tell the story.
