Impact Support Club House

The fact that he can still move after all these years amazes me.

Handicapped by 50? I'll take the under.

But seriously though, I know a lot of people view Jeff Hardy as a shit head but I respect the hell out of him for sacrificing his own well being for his passion of wrestling. He's responsible for some incredible moments.

The same can be said of Foley. At least Mick has some fat to absorb the impact.

These tapings have seemingly made BFG completely pointless. For shame. Plus the results are extremely shitty.

Big mistake taking the belt off Lashley but it was unfortunately the only option as they had him mow down too many challengers within three months. RIP best booked TNA champion in years.

Well, his run had to end at some point. TNA is clearly in TV exclusive mode. That's really nothing wrong given their PPV's end up pointless no matter the build, so they might as well put their emphasis on TV exclusively. But their program is clearly halfhearted right now. They have great bits like Storm's new stable, the Tag Team title series and Lashley. But everything else is "champion, meet challenger" shuffle and repeat each few weeks. They pretty much were doing things in the same vain as NXT. Which is awesome. But there's no emphasis which cripples that style of TV.

TNA has the tools to be awesome. Now more than ever. But that TV deal is distracting them massively.

Considering that without a TV deal, the company doesn't work, I don't know if "distraction" is the right word. Dixie Carter promising a Huge Surprise via Twitter is a distraction, this is more TNA trying to justify their continuing existence to any putative buyers of their programming.

To wit, they have been putting on PPV quality matches on TV for quite a few weeks now, and why not- TNA has never done shit for PPV revenues, and the PPV model is dying a slow, gasping death. They might as well throw all their eggs in the TV basket.

Aries' and Kims' contracts are expiring soon, apparently. I can live just fine without the latter, but man, I hope Aries comes back. That dude is gold.

While I'd hate it, I think Aries may actually leave. He's gold but has he really been used to his full potential? There was the Hemme thing and he was also put into the doghouse earlier this year so I can see it happening. I would assume he'd join AJ and Daniels in the indies.

Say, did any of you guys play the TNA game back in '08?

Just noticed your signature says you support IS which really takes on new meaning in September 2014.

Well here's the thing. TNAs creative team aren't the ones negotiating contracts. So why there's a lack of story for the most part while the wrestling is great is weird.

I think what it really comes down to is the current creative staff looking back at the last 3-4 years of booking and realizing that the attempts at longterm complex storytelling wasn't really working to get the company anywhere, so they decided to strip it all down, focus on simple match setting and try to see if they have more success letting the wrestling speak for itself. And its resulted in about three straight months of consistently entertaining Impact episodes, so its hard to argue with the new approach.

That would make sense if half the show wasn't near pointless title matches or #1 contender matches. Just look at NXT. Build wrestlers, build feud, blow it off at a big show. TNA just seems to throw veggies in a bowl and expect a tuna salad out of it.

On Matthews via TNAInsider:

PWInsider.com is reporting that Josh Mathews has officially started with TNA now that his WWE no-compete time frame has expired. Mathews is said to have relocated to Nashville and is working in the TNA offices.

On TV Deal via TNAInsider:

According to a new report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA is set to announce a new home for Impact Wrestling possibly during tonight’s broadcast. Their report claims that TNA staying on SpikeTV is not scheduled to be announced.

That's nice for him. While Taz has really grown on me this year and I've always loved Tenay, they need a guy to bring them back to the action (assuming Matthews eventually gets the call-up).
