And what do we end with?

Two guys in their 50s that currently work for WWE. Not the new World Champion slaying an unstoppable beast and establishing himself as the future, but two guys who don't work there anymore in a nostalgia match.

Do you people now get why I say this company never learns?
I haven't seen it yet...
Hogan vs Sting?

It was a "best of TNA" show, dude. Sting was in TNA for like a decade. I have no issue with them focusing on that fact. That moment was iconic, whether you like it or not.

I'd get your gripe a lot more if that was the #1 moment on next weeks' show.

I'm pretty sure they wanted Okada to be booked like he was by TNA. It's always been described as "humbling" to make sure he would be committed to the company. I'd say it worked.

Who did, NJPW? As a means to humble him? That's pretty sly and shitty if it's true.

"Sure, Okada — work TNA. See how you like it"
"OK, TNA, make sure you treat him like shit, you understand? We want this dog back here begging for his spot back"

...

"Oh, Okada, TNA didn't work out for you, huh? We told you so..."

I highly, highly doubt that. They had A LOT invested in Okada even from when he was a young boy. They knew he was going to be the top guy. When he returned from TNA he had one match, went on a hiatus, then cameback as "The Rainmaker" and was immediately a top guy. You think NJPW sent him out to be booked like a nobody?

EDIT: Having listened to the interview he basically says that NJPW don't like TNA and that they never got along. I'm sure the talent exchanges contributed but there could have been other issues we don't know about. Even now there is obvious issues with the TNA/W1 relationship.

TNA has reportedly made an offer to Alberto Del Rio. The deal is a one year deal worth about $400,000.

TNA is reportedly asking for exclusivity,
which causes an issue because of Del Rio’s plans to work with El Rey and AAA’s Lucha Underground in 2015.

If TNA wants to get Del Rio, they may have to drop the request for exclusivity or add more money to their offer. TNA is trying to sell Del Rio on the idea that he will have more US TV exposure with TNA than with anyone else.

John Gaburick had a close working relationship with Del Rio in WWE.

Man, leave ADR alone. The dude is boring. I'm sure he'd want the spotlight on him right away. What that means, he'd be champion in 3 weeks, Roode loses, turns heel and TNA is back to being called the "WWE Reject Zone" all over again.

Focus on talent they have now, make new stars in which WWE is trying to do.

Del Rio is great in the ring, but so is Tyson Kidd. Hire him for half the price, enjoy the benefit of not having to appease him as much and cut the losses when he eventually tanks.

Better yet, there's Kenny King or Manik, who I'm sure would be able to do whatever they have planned for Del Rio, albeit with a slight chromatic adjustment.

If you do NEED that lowrider-money, do something with Tigre Uno (who is incredible).

Exactly. Tiger Uno is better than Rey Mysterio when he was younger and in the Filthy Animals. I dig Tigre Uno a lot. Manik is awesome with so much potential I hope it doesn't get wasted.

Note Kenny King, this dude had it all. Everything people wanted Shelton Benjamin to be is in Kenny King. He's smooth in the ring very natural talker with a million tons of charisma than ADR will ever have. This is what TNA needs to see. They need to see their own extremely talented roster!

I have no problem with it/him being on the show. I'd just put someone still working there to end the show.

I fully expect 1/4/10 to be the #1 moment of all time.

I mean, I guess? That's a pretty paltry thing to get in a tizzy about though.

With "top-N" lists, no one is ever happy with the final decisions. Everyone always thinks their list is better, or that this event was better than that one, or that this debut trunks that one, etc. They are designed to be debated. Often hotly.

This wasn't a tizzy. This was me shaking my head and smiling a bit.

Meh, the Unbreakable three-way should be top-three, but Angle's debut alone trumps it IMO. If you ask me, it's absolutely the single crowning achievement in company history. Not even Styles' championship victory wins out over that for me.

Do you remember the live PPV feed when that was announced? Don West literally screamed "HOLY SHIT!" before apologizing.

I remember that, it was a great moment. Angle coming up through the floor with the flag wrapped around him. Totally Epic.

My top 3 moments would be:
3) Christian Cage's debut
2) Aj Styles title win 09
1) Kurt Angles debut. Totally Epic.

Look I like Tigre Uno too and all.

The dude accomplished a lot in AAA and he's usually entertaining to watch. TNA has definitely underutilized him.

But this statement:

Exactly. Tiger Uno is better than Rey Mysterio when he was younger and in the Filthy Animals. I dig Tigre Uno a lot.
Is DRASTIC.

And undeniably false.

Tigre is 33 years old. At the time of the Filthy Animals Rey was in his mid-twenties and had already done more in WCW than Tigre had done in his career by thirty.

From the time Rey came to the states full time when he was 21 he was already arguably the best luchador in the ring on Earth not named Guerrero, and he proved it immediately.

He had two five star matches in ECW by 22 years old. Add in the Ultimo Dragon match at World War 3, the Psicosis match at Bash '96, and the Halloween Havoc '97 match with Eddie, and BEFORE the Filthy Animals were even a thing Rey had already wrestled in a handful of matches that were better than any match that Tigre Uno has had in his entire career.

Oh, and what about by the time Rey was the age that Tigre is now? Well by then all Rey had done was win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Its easy to compare the two because of their similar size and often similar looking style due to Tigre also being trained from a very young age by Rey's uncle, Rey Misterio, Sr.

But lets be clear here- There is no fair comparison between the two. No matter how much you may like Tigre, Rey has always been the non-subjectively greater wrestler.

You're using accomplishments over skill. Rey is no where as talented as Tigre Uno.

Edit: An opinion cannot be true nor false. My opinion is Tigre Uno is better in the ring then Rey Mysterio. And I am a Mysterio fan too.

No. I cited matches as examples that Rey actually competed in to demonstrate how talented he was.

Rey is no where as talented as Tigre Uno.
No where near? Wow.

And this shows otherwise:

Show me anything from any part of Extreme Tiger's career that shows he's ever been capable of wrestling a better match than either of those(both of which took place before Rey's 23rd birthday).

Opinions are always subjective and I get that, but in any way, shape or form is that remotely a "good" opinion. I honestly think you should go after some tapes of Rey Mysterio in the 90's, you'll be surprised and a good kind of surprise. Take the time when you're at home bored and want to do something different - I can tell you, time does indeed flow by watching that crazy guy. There's a reason why HE IS THE ONLY MASKED LUCHADOR in WWE history to ever held the world title.

Okay, I shall do that. I want to see what Papa Pilliman posted but I only have access through my phone an it doesn't play his video. I'm giving my opinion on what i know from Rey, which cleary is not shit lol. I'll check it out during the week and I'll more than like realize my opinion is wrong. I knew Rey was good, but I never knew he was that good.

Give me some good recommended matches so I can learn how good Rey is.

  • WAR Super J. Cup 1995 - Rey Mysterio vs. Psicosis
  • ECW Big Ass Extreme Bash: Night 2 - Rey Mysterio vs. Juventud Guerrera - 2 out of 3 falls
  • WCW Halloween Havoc '97 - Rey Mysterio vs. Eddy Guerrero - WCW Cruiserweight Championship in a Mask vs. Title

Those are the big three, but he has tons of more good matches, singles and tags and multi man matches where he was the star.
