Impact Support Club House

A logo is supposed to be simple. Look at the Nike logo, the Sony logo, look at the Universal logo as a standstill. They're one word in a font on a black background. The new logo has a gradient - it's like something out of 2000. The fonts are all over the place. I can see three alone as it is. Also it looks like the logo for an eFed. Doesn't help. You're right though, with the right animation it could look good, but I just read the newsletter and TNA are going to be cutting a lot of costs in production to pay wrestlers so the cool animations may become a thing of the past.

Trust me. You can go very VERY far with graphic design with just Youtube, public domain and some creativity. It doesn't have to actually be expensive to look good.

WZ Main page: Recently Departed Knockout Already Returning?
As we recently reported, TNA Knockout Brittany decided to leave the company after TNA made her a one-year deal which she turned down.

Despite Brittany leaving to work the indy scene and pursue modeling, there’s backstage talk in TNA that Brittany could be returning in time for TNA’s debut on Destination America to continue her story line with Samuel Shaw and Gunner.

WZ Main PageMike Tenay Signs New TNA Deal
According to a new report, Mike Tenay has agreed to a new deal that will see him remain with TNA Wrestling going forward, at least for the next year. That said, it remains to be seen what his on-air job will entail, as the current plan is to replace him at the commentary booth with former WWE announcer Josh Matthews.

Jim Ross had contacted TNA recently, asking for them to loan out Tenay for the upcoming Tokyo Dome show. JR wanted to run a two-man booth with him, in exchange for plugging the TNA product on New Japan pay-per-view, but the offer was turned down.

Hmmmm...

Great news on Brittany, based entirely on the fact I hate seeing stories just die abrupt deaths when a contract expires like that. Not that the story is great (it's not), but having it just die is worse than having it continue and having it end a relatively successfully.

Tenay is the more interesting note here — do they run a three man booth and phase him out, or is he simply going to move into a different avenue, similar to what Borash has always done regarding interviews, in-ring announcements, etc?

You think this one was better? It's so ridiculously simple and with the simplistic animations it was worse. It was huge step back for them. Hopefully this new one is accompanied by good animation.

Yes, it was better. Logos are designed to be iconic, often simple, and need work backwards from whatever their most complex form is.

What folks who don't understand design don't tend to get is that from a marketing perspective, there are just so many uses that you will run into serious issues over when you produce overly complicated designs — namely embroidery and broadcast.

There's no issue with having a gradient, because I'm sure TNA have one-color versions of this new logo ready to go out the door, right along side four-color, PMS, RGB, etc. but the lack of breathing room between the elements is what's killing it. The uneven spacing between letters, and the tightness between the IMPACT and WRESTLING aspects with the blue line are going to make this an embroidery nightmare. Even screen printers are probably going to bitch, considering how close those colors are to one another.

Mike Tenay is great, I'm glad TNA kept him. Taz is cool too, but when he drifts off into the fourth (or even fifth) dimension, I want to slap him across the back of the head. Stick to the action, man! What are the chances of a three-man booth?

Strange that TNA didn't loan Tenay for the tour. Probably felt they needed him. Or, more likely, management haven't figured out whether or not they're going to need him or not on NJPW's dates. :suspic: Looking at you, Jon...

Well, rumor has Alberto Del Rio is not coming to TNA but rather ROH and supposedly Lucha Underground. That's good for him. I'd really like TNA to make stars and get themselves over as a company with those stars.

As for the logo it is not that big of a deal. It's a logo that everyone's opinions of will vary. It's nice and modern looking that is the trend right now. It works for me as I care more about the actual show than the logo.

^^Man, that's a great poster.

It alone makes me want to watch the match even though I don't necessarily care for either individual.

I do it too. But I don't cut the top. Saves me the 20 fucking dollars they charge in this looks obsessed circus called the OC.

yourfightpage.com does all their design work, from what I understand, in conjunction with Lee South, who is their in-house photographer, or a freelancer whom they use almost as a permalancer.

I have no idea if Lee works for that company, but they've been producing TNA's promotional posters and most of their web content for almost a decade. They're also the ones who produce all the stuff for Bellator, ROH, etc.
