Impact Support Club House

I'm OK with the idea of Joe walking. He's in a similar position Christian was with TNA in the final year he was there. There's literally nothing for him to do, so much so to the point he was going backwards, toward titles he was already elevated above.

ere is some more news on TNA’s pending future on TV. According to a source, TNA is in talks with Destination America as a possible new home for iMPACT! Wrestling. The channel is part of the Discovery Network and is available in approximately 60 million homes in the US.

Sources claim that Destination will know TNA’s decision regarding the deal before the end of the week. The ongoing talks have reportedly been a source of frustration for TNA wrestlers. Some talents have been told Spike TV is still a front-runner for TNA’s new TV deal. Other reports suggest that Spike TV is no longer in the running.
Currently, Spike TV will be running episodes of iMPACT! Wrestling through November 19. The show will be pre-empted on November 26 for Thanksgiving. Spike TV will then air some TNA Best Of shows through December, and iMPACT! will be pre-empted again for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Spike TV officials have continued saying that no decision on TNA’s future has been reached yet.

Knew it. TNA's pushing their luck themselves. They're REALLY cutting it close and are way too inclined on the time they have left on Spike. How the hell are they gonna promote their network change and first card if they leave it all for the last minute?

The same way they did the move to Wednesdays. All on their website and Twitter, and just hope everyone gets it.

The majority of the people who watch TNA consistently are die hard enough to follow them on Twitter or be on a wrestling website that will report it. There is no such thing as casuals for them, no worries.

If you go through the trouble of watching it week to week at this point and time more likely than not you're keeping up with whether they have a new network yet.

Just going to throw this here, Kyle O'Reilly, one-half of reDRagon who was trained by Davey Richards, did an interview with the Observer and during the interview Dave asks him how is Davey and is he still liking TNA. This is word for word Kyle's response off the board.

"Ehm... I've not talked to Davey in awhile actually. He's busy, recovering from his injury but, doing what Davey does, training to be a firefighter I think, saw it on his Twitter, ehm... but yeah haven't spoke to him in awhile but yeah, probably, you know, Davey being Davey, don't know if he'll be wrestling in three days never mind a month. Ehm, last time I heard from him his future with that company is uncertain... eh, I don't think he minds he gets to work more outside it - as a paramedic and a trainee firefighter - , eh... but yeah I think Davey wants what everyone there wants which is to be told where they're going to be in 2015. It's a crappy situation as a wrestler because if you don't work you don't get paid and... it's like if I go work for ROH and I comeback and tell my wife I made no money. These guys have lives and I hope they get told soon."

But what to DO with Joe, though? I know having him squash his children in the X-Division isn't the right thing, but what do you do with him? Magnus feud again?

Not that it matters now :(

That's kind of my point. There's nothing in TNA for him to do. He's done everything. It's time for him to move on, IMO. A return to ROH maybe?

It's times like this I wish that TNA and ROH had a better relationship. No two companies could benefit from one another like those two if they'd actually work together by lending talent back-and-forth.

Joe gets lent to ROH, and in return ROH lends TNA someone off their own roster who needs new faces and a new set of challengers. A throw back to the territory days, really.

He could get built up as a World Champion contender and actually win the belt for the first time in six years instead of just being an upper midcarder and savior of the X Division again.

This was like 2008 right? On the cusp of the MEM angle that basically choked the life out of things until Hogan/Bischoff danced with the dead corpse for a while.

Yeah 2008.

Eh I wouldn't say choked the life out of it. I liked the story and it was a good idea. They just didn't need to put the title on Sting again. Then Foley. Then Angle.

Just finished the Knockouts Knockdown II and it's a borderline disaster. After about 30 minutes of opening promos and introductions, I saw nine decent to boring matches with the new girls vs. the veterans that could have been on any given episode of Impact. As usual it was a gauntlet match ending and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Tenay and Taz just destroyed the show though, talking about such things as baseball, bar wenches and rhyming Yim with Kim.

I then threw on Lucha Underground and I'm amazed at how much more serious they take things. I know One Night Only isn't exactly the high end for TNA but would the tiniest bit of effort kill them?

Its being reported that ECIII tore his bicep and is going to have surgery next week. No word on how long he'll be shelved, but he had to pull out of the House of Hardcore IPPV debut at the former ECW arena this weekend.

Sucks, ECIII is a star and beating a former and old timer with some credibility left would have dinner him some good.

We can confirm that we have been told by a few TNA
sources that the company is indeed done with Spike
TV and is expected to begin airing on a new partner
in January of 2015. For those asking why so many
people from within the company were tweeting about
Spike and Bellator last night, we have been told that
TNA and Spike are not having an acrimonious break
up. TNA will still have a connection with Spike
through Bobby Lashley and at this point, the
December episodes of Impact are still scheduled to
air on Spike at this time. Unlike when Spike cut off
negotiations with WWE years ago, costing them
money in their TV deal with USA as their leverage
was taken away, this situation is said to be the
opposite.
The new TV deal is said to be extremely close to
completed, if it’s not already. We have heard from
numerous sources that it will be a multi-year deal,
which means TNA will have at least two more years
on the air. It should be noted that many have
speculated that the company was going to die at the
end of the year, as some felt that they wouldn’t be
able to find a new home for Impact. Barring and
unforeseen development, that will not be the case.
TNA will live on.
All signs point to it getting done in the next week, as
Dixie Carter tweeted last week that they would
announce a deal soon. We have been told that it will
air on a smaller, lesser known network. While no one
will confirm where the show will end up, there has
been a lot of talk that it will end up on Destination
America, which is owned by Discovery
Communications (you can see if you have access to
the channel by clicking here). It is available in a little
more than half of the country, though speaking
personally it is not currently available on the plan I
have with Cox. I will have to pay to add it here in Las
Vegas.
All signs point to the fact that the new deal will bring
in less money than the old one did, at least at the
start. However, with the new deal the company will
have more opportunities in other areas. They will
reportedly be able to have more programming on the
network than just Impact and they will be the
bellwether brand for the new partner, putting them
in a position where they will be a top priority for the
new network. They will be in a position to potentially
help grow a network. Even if they can’t, once the deal
is signed they will have at least two more years to
“start again” and that will be their plan once they
start doing new shows in January.

How legit is PWI? What do we say - yay/nay?

They're pretty legit. Mike Johnson is better at reporting about TNA or ROH news than WWE, he doesn't have many connections there, but he seems to have a lot in the smaller promotions and he used to be the big inside guy on the net when ECW was around. I personally haven't heard Meltzer say this yet and its gotten to the point where even he has said until he gets confirmation a deal has been signed and not just verbally agreed that he will report TNA are staying alive.

Sounds legit to me too. I'm all-in on that as well. Two more years is plenty of time to re-establish with the new network. The only thing that sucks about this is how they may handle the month of December, and how they'll get the audience over to the new network for January, as well as how soon content will be available in January.

Also, Del Rio to TNA?

It's being said if TNA do go to Destination America they'll have to completely restructure which will include cutting the wage bill once again, because DA are in no way able to pay the rates that Spike were paying TNA. IDK how much ADR is charging per appearances but I really don't think him signing with TNA would be a good idea. He'd get more money doing AAA, some indies and maybe if he has a couple contacts he'll get a go with NJPW.

However, there is only three options. TNA, ROH or Lucha Underground - it's obvious Lucha is one, but he said two so It'll be interesting to see who else he works for.

Are there any other companies that air through syndication? He was supposed to appear in WWC, but I don't think TV in another region counts. Lucha Underground is already a given as he would not shut up about it in Mexico interviews. So TNA might indeed be the second one if their relationship to AAA is still a thing.

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood airs in 14% of America, Booker T's Reality of Wrestling airs in something like 16%. CWFH do contracts but their biggest names are Joey Ryan and Willie Mack. Again, there's only three options, TNA, ROH and Lucha Underground. Unless ADR knows something about GFW nobody else does.

It's likely TNA and LU. Zema Ion and Robbie E have several TV appearances taped meaning there's still a work agreement between TNA and AAA.

PWInsider Elite

Earlier in the week we reported on Alberto Del Rio saying he had plans to wrestle for two companies with TV in 2015. Those two companies are reportedly AAA's Lucha Underground and TNA.
Del Rio made appearances in the Northeast this past weekend and was making it clear that he plans on working for Lucha Underground and TNA in 2015. There's no word yet on how that would work out contractually but that is Del Rio's plan.
