Impact Support Club House

The biggest crowd ROH has done this year was 2,600 in the Hammerstein Ballroom for War of the Worlds. It hasn't drawn 3,500 fans ever, but Puerto Rico is a whole different kettle of fish to America or Canada.

I certainly don't disagree. But it speaks for the growth of WWL who have markets in the US and outdrew their direct competitor in their own home building one week away from WWC's 41st Anniversary iPPV. They brought interest back to the island.

When you think that BFG is supposed to be TNA's biggest show of the year, BFG '14 was a massive waste of time.

Tanaka vs Manik was spotty but nice, like you'd expect from two smaller guys.

EC3 vs Hama was alright - his speech beforehand was pretty douchey, so seeing Hama stinkfacing him was good. Failing at his promise to slam Hama did nothing for EC3, though.

MVP vs Sakamoto... MVP looked pretty good, but the match was average. I thought it was weird that the commentators mentioned his time in WWE as Tensai's follower.

The three-way for the X-division championship was good, but I expected more. A few inventive spots saved the match for me.

Andy Woo (sp?) and Pantera vs those two cocky heels was one of the better matches, but nothing special.

Dreamer & Abyss vs 3D was okay. One special spot deserves a mention - 3D front body-dropping Abyss onto his own thumbtacks was hard to watch, but kudos to Abyss for taking the bump. It's just... compared to Dreamer vs Bully from earlier the year at ONO, this match was so disappointing. The match had no flow to it and it was just two teams getting their shit in, so to speak. Dreamer's heartfelt speech thanking 3D for a last match would've been better post-match and in the ring, too.

Havok vs Velvet was always only going to have one winner. I'm happy that after their desperate search, TNA finally found an Amazon to replace Kong, but this knockouts match didn't look like anything other than filler between the hardcore tag match and the main-event.

The main event had a simple build, but I enjoyed the lead-up to it. James Storm stole Sanada as mentee from Great Muta and now Tajiri is in the mix to help out his old friend. The stupid spot where Tajiri disappeared under the ring aside, I though the match was pretty decent and all four guys gave a very good performance.

As a ONO: Japan, or a Dudley's tribute, it would be a good show.

But for the biggest show of the year? Dreadful. You can't have your biggest show without your biggest stars. No Roode, no Aries, none of the Hardys, not even an Anderson or EY. It's like Wrestlemania without Cena, Orton, Lesnar, Rock, Trips or Bryan.

Man, my buddy just shot me this YouTube vid of TNA's debut episode.

I won't even lie, this intro alone got me fuckin' amped!

When TNA was awesome. Every Saturday, on a one week delay on The Wrestling Channel here in Ireland, the PPV's would be shown the week after for free. I remember watching marking the fuck out for Christian's debut, and rewatching the announcement of Angle's debut over and over (Sky+/DVR).

TNA used to be so good. Ah well.

One of my favorite memories. The reaction. The hype!

What it reminded me of is "just how many #1 Contender's matches did Monty Brown win and did he ever get his shot?"

Half the time. Any other occasion, he'd stupidly side with Jeff Jarrett.

I remember losing my shit laughing at Paparazzi Productions.

TNA outbid WWE for Alex Shelley, a young, vibrant, talented, charismatic Alex Shelley, off the bat of a big heel run in ROH where he led an awesome stable, and at the end of his TNA run he was so depressed personally that he considered quitting wrestling and decided if he didn't go to Japan he'd do just that. Think about that for a moment. Luckily Shelley's a Time Splitter now.

You say that as if Steiner was bad or something.

No, I say that because Steiner just bumbled his way through promos with 80% talent, 40% unintelligible sounds, 12% genetics and 4% Steiner. #SteinerMath

If you take that, and make sure the child is ******ed and black, you've got a recipe for Monty Brown.

Worth catching up on. My favourite times were when the Angle Alliance was feuding with Christian's Coalition. A brilliant product it was.

Any particular matches you guys treasure apart from that triple threat?

@REALBully5150: Nice to see a co. other than WWE had the business vision and brains to hire a man with the talent, KNOWLEDGE and credibility as @JRsBBQ.

This on the heels of the GFW announcement that JR will call Wrestle Kingdom 9.

Bit of a dig at TNA, or am I reading too closely between the lines?

A television announcement, hopefully. We're all in limbo until that comes. If it comes.

And not to beat my own drum again, but I really think I'm done with wrestling, for a while at least, if it doesn't.

We're getting closer and closer and there's nothing. They have two shows left and then the Best Of stuff. Here's a bad sign for TNA though: Spike said they're pulling the episode because of the holiday right? Here are the numbers for the show on Thanksgiving night for the last few years:

2013: 825,000 viewers

2012: 1.187 million viewers

2011: 1.405 million viewers

2010: 1.262 million viewers

2009: 1.3 million viewers

2008: 1.6 million viewers

2007: 1.4 million viewers

Good numbers almost all around but now on the night before, Spike is worried about the numbers? That's not a good sign.
