I'm Reading Twitter; Making Me Bitter (feat. Tweets from WWE Superstars)

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
Let me just come out and say this right now; Zack Ryder's Twitter is awful. Here are his last five tweets:

BE MY BROSKI...BUY MY MERCH. WWWYKI. http://t.co/3xCeoGr

Canadian BROSKIS...buy my shirt at the WWE live events this weekend!

Episode 27 of Z! True Long Island Story http://t.co/6jWCOgy WATCH IT BROSKIS

Once a Broski, always a Broski. Once a S, always a S! WWWYKI

Obviously his moderate success has gone to his head and he thinks he can just sell his crappy t-shirt and scream catchphrases all day. His Twitter is total garbage. Fuck Zack Ryder and the viral marketing he rode in on. If I see you wearing a Zack Ryder shirt in the street, it's likely you'll be beaten to the ground and have it torn off your back.

As for the best, well, let's see. Wrestlers that use Twitter to announce tour dates and stir up some bookings are always interesting. Many wrestlers are, of course, raging lunatics and this comes through in their tweets. Many more wrestlers are massively into self-promotion and will sing their own praises all day and night without their tongue being anywhere near their cheek. Some are homophobes, racists, misogynists and bigots of many varieties; it's always fun to see those sort of people exposed.

The best, however, is undoubtedly CM Punk. Why? Why? Here are some bullet points, you needy ****e:

  • His Tweets are few and far between. Can't be dealing with people blowing up my Twitter feed. No siree.
  • He's genuinely funny.
  • He understands technology, like how to upload pictures of the WWE Championship in odd places.
  • He likes comics.
  • Villains don't sleep.

That's all I got. These things matter, you know?

Totally. I unfollowed Zack Ryder the other day due to his excessive schilling. I wouldn't be caught dead in WWE merchandise anyway, let alone his awful get-up. I'm also very close to giving Good Ol' JR the boot. I've about had it with him retweeting everyone who tells him how awesome his Barbecue sauce is. Just awful.

But yeah, CM Punk is pretty cool. He isn't on their constantly, which leads me to think that he has a life. And get this, he has an actual sense of humor. I know, right?

Cena isn't too bad either. Usually just a couple of tweets a day.

I dont get why you follow the guy and then hate on him. Simple fact of the matter is dont follow him you pillock...but i do see your point in some ways about some superstars, but again, i dont follow people who i dont hold a form of interest in. Ive learnt to skim read and on twitter thats an epic help to avoid reading every tweet someone posts.

Note: Celebrities are just the same, twitter is a way people make themselves look like ******s by posting every little thing they're doing.

CM Punk could actually teach a few WWE stars on how you should be using twitter. It is not just about his frequency but how he comes across on it as well. He seems like a real person using twitter. He is not real in the sense that he uses a lot of insider terms which he does not use at all but in the sense that there appears to be more than just wrestling to him. It is more like talking to Philip Brooks than to CM Punk. He talks about wrestling but he talks about it like something he enjoys rather than something he gives his life for.

Contrast that with John Cena. Cena, to put it in a nutshell, appears to be a goof. He seems like an unreal person living inside a wrestling ring 24/7. If someone told me that he goes home and addresses his wife as a member of the Cenation as well, based on his twitter account, I would probably believe that. I know John is a funny, talented guy and I think that there is a lot more to him than just wrestling, but he does not allow that part of his persona to shine through on twitter. No professional talks about his work 24/7 so why should that be the case with Cena? I know Cena appears very few times on twitter bt every time he does, he talks about wrestling only. He needs to loosen up a lot more.

I think that Twitter can be a great vehicle to promote pro wrestling in the near future. It can be a place where fans get to know about the stars and how they live. It is something that can help the fans see how superstars are as people and hence relate better with them. Fuck about knowing how the business works. That is something that is interesting to about 4 people in the world. But I would like to know what Del Rio does in his free time, what are his interests, what music bands does he like, what sports does he like and so on.

This is the reality era, as Punk puts it and the way in which you can make this era real is by establishing the stars as real figures interacting with the fans in a real manner and not as comic book characters that have been brought to life.

I really don't like Ezekial Jackson's tweets. He just rambles on about religious preaching all day. News Flash, Zeke: not everyone is of your religion!

Shawn Michaels, Colt Cabana and CM Punk are interesting. Cena is pretty hood with the fans.

Are you serious?!? if you dont like someone's tweets then dont follow them. You're saying you dont like his tweets because he doesn't tell you enough about his life

#chillout

The best guys to follow are definitely Punk, Jericho and Cena, they don't just ramble about buying their shit and their posts are always either funny or good info. For instance I was able to see Jericho and his band Fozzy in West Hollywood because I thought it would be fun to check out his twitter, 2 days later I was front row at the show shaking his hand. Also got to go to one of his book signings for Undisputed because I caught it on his twitter, got to talk with him for a good five minutes.
I used to give twitter crap because I thought it was nothing but stupid babble from celebrities, but I definitely have more respect for it now. But Zach Ryder is one of the guys who gives twitter a bad name, he's just trying to sell his crap.

If I see you wearing a Zack Ryder shirt in the street, it's likely you'll be beaten to the ground and have it torn off your back.

Firstly, touch me and you'll draw back a stump. Just sayin' don't threaten people because you disagree with them. It's not a good plan for a long life.

As for your point, Zach is probably just trying to keep the account active. He's working his ass off to stay in the public's mind. Granted, what he's doing is ridiculous and wasteful right now, it may change, you never know. He's finally being used on TV and god knows what else he's doing off screen, so maybe he's just too busy to do anything of substance.

You can always unfollow him if you dislike him. It's pretty easy to do.

Looks like his Tweets are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Having people talking about him. Even if people think he's garbage, they are still thinking about him.

Negative pub is still pub. This thread will make people follow him just so they see what drivel he will talk about next.

Yeah, I unfollowed Zack Ryder the other day to. I just think that he isn't naturally funny and his constant plugs make me sick. The best wrestler to follow, by far, is Wade Barrett. He insults Heath Slater and is generally just a funny, grumpy Englishman abroad. He complains about being on Supertars and stuff. He's really funny.

Firstly id personally like to see you attempt to rip a t-shirt from me in the street if i was wearing one. That would be comedy !!

Secondly i agree with you that Ryders twitter sucks and pretty much agree on your stuff on Punks twitter.

Im personally against them using twitter for anything WWE related ie the Divsa of Doom/Bella twins bullshit last week. All story advancements should be used on tv and not over the internet.

Zeke? Religion? New gimmick? Pastor Ezekiel Jackson? If you don't convert then you'll get destroyed by him? Lol

Anyways on topic
I find CM Punk's tweets very entertaining. Cena's are ok. I like I he always doesn't type in kayfabe like when he did with one tweet where he said that he's neither heel or face.

Maybe as a man from the same neck of the woods as Wade Barrett, I've found his tweets interesting. he's made cracks about Slater and Bryan, and he's also divulged interests such as music tastes. He and Punk truly seem to be use Twitter for the benefit of the fans and not for the benefit of promotion.

I'm not surpised Punk's tweets are the best in anyones opinion on this site. The guy tweets pictures of the WWE title in the fridge and of books hes reading and thats automatically better than someone trying to get themselves over. There are two kinds of people on Twitter. The ones who are there to actually communicate and the ones who are there to promote. Ryder is doing what every singer, politician, actor, athlete, etc. would do and thats promoting. I dont know why you're so riled up because Ryder is promoting himself. Theres no rulebook for Twitter.

Punk and Cena don't need to tell people to buy their stuff, people just do. Ryder is trying to make some money. Not only that, but it's kind of in his character to do this. I know twitter is supposed to be "teh realz" but some guys just LOVE to constantly be in character and constantly sell their merch.

I don't see how this is a big deal?

Wow we've got a tough guy here who thinks it's cool to slap around nerds.

Lulz, we also have people who are tough responding to him. Anyone that takes that seriously is a nincompoop.

I dislike Ryder already, so I don't follow him. Though when people retweet what he says, those that do and I follow you know who you are :glare:, I get the feeling of "you make me hate you even more, Zack Ryder". I get that you need to try and connect with the people via Twitter and what not to make fans care about you, really I do. Though your broski talk will never get me interested.

As far as who I do enjoy. Other than the obvious in CM Punk, I also enjoy hearing from Stone Cold and The Rock. Stone Cold talks about shooting movies, shooting commentary for upcoming things, and also pictures of food he eats. I enjoy that as I always wondered what the Rattlesnake ate. Rocky always talks about making sure people kick ass that day and working out. I'll also add in Beth Phoenix and her endless #pinupstrong quotes. They make me think happy thoughts.

Ryder has been using twitter to gain attention, and his tweets have been relatively the same since he started tweeting.

When his first shirt came out, the Generic one that had a half body photo of him with his name on it, he wanted people to post pictures on Twitter in the shirts, and to anyone that sent him a picture on twitter in the shirt, he would send them a autographed card of himself. He's using Twitter to try and gain more fans, and to get his fans active about buying his merchandise and supporting his youtube show.

If you want to see some bullshit tweets, read the ones main stream Hollywood A-Listers post, those are fucking garbage

yeah i agree zack ryder is just lame and promoting his shit on twitter i mean i can get promoting yourself but there is a point when enough is enough i love cm punks twitter hes such an asshole on there and the funny thing is he admits it plus he doesnt just retweet fans to make them happy i dont think i have ever seen him retweet a fan yet but i could very well be wrong his info makes me laugh "once tipped a stripper with a flilet o fish" hahahahaa i love tht! plus he doesnt tweet non stop he has a life!

Yeah i unfollowed that loser awhile back.. I wish Vince would just release his ******ed ass..

Im sure hes excessively trying to sell merch to keep his job.

the best two i like reading are Jericho and Punk.. Miz isn't too bad but i dont even follow him.. just read his stuff once in awhile. and i follow maryse because she is always posting pics of her sexy stuff.

I don't follow anybody on twitter, I just don't see the point sometimes I log on and check a few of them but most of the times it's just ramblings. I glimpsed at Ryders about a week ago but because it was only plugs for his merchandise and to watch him, I wont go back. At the moment the only people I pay attention to is HBK, because it gets sent to my facebook feed. and occasionally CM Punks. Even though I'm not a fan of Cena, I actually enjoy the odd moments when I check out his twitter feeds because he trys to remain in character.

first of all I'm a huge ryder fan. I dont really follow his tweets. but comeone all of you guys are going way to far even from the Original poster . even when you say that your gonna kick someone's ass because they wear a ryder shirt. that was a little too far. i cannot berlieve all of you hate ryder now?

Oh, I just love it when people speak truth. He's a tool. Deal with it. You don't get over in the business by ****ing yourself the way Ryder does. You do it by showing you mean something. Just yelling out "Buy my shirt, watch my show, Woo Woo Woo, love me" isn't gonna get anyone to see why you should even be on TV. Hell, it works against it. No need to put you on TV if you're already pushing for sales, right? But you can't expect those kind of people to rely on logic. Attention ****es don't work that way.

Oh lord look at the innernet tough guys, Sam one of the most respected posters on the site says a comment and they are up in arms. Everyone is now 6'6 280 pounds and Sam is 5'2 120 pounds right? People need to take shit said on a forum with a grain of salt, I'm sure Sam is going to put on his Rambo bandanna and go out and hunt Ryder fans right?

Jesus...

But back on topic, I see Tons of people promoting their own shit. But not up to the magnitude of Ryder. I'm not a big fan of shameless plugging 24/7, but shit if that's what's getting him money and getting him on t.v more than I guess it's working.

I do love the hype smarks are giving him now though. I do enjoy Ryder, but since his Z true youtube video's alot of people have been nut hugging way to much. Sure he created something to promote himself and get his name out. But I don't give two fucks what happens on youtube, if he didn't do it on Raw, Sd!, or Superstars it really means nothing outside of getting a few more fans. He isn't improving his mic skills or in ring skills by setting on his ass making video's. I don't care how many people watch his vids, live and taped shows infront of a real audience are 10 times diffrent than a youtube video. I could talk all day and post it up on youtube. But he needs to work on his mic skills, the State of the Showski adress was proof of that.

I'm not gonna bash the dude for trying to get fans, but I will bash him for posting constant shit on my feeds. I don't want to see it, and posting WWWYKIB does nothing. Set and bullshit with your fans on tweeter, not fucking plug constantly and nothing else. I've seen him do that a handfull of times, but I've also seen many more superstars just talking to the fans every day.

CM Punk is my favorite wrestler to follow on Twitter because he has one hell of a sense of humor. On top of that, he doesn't blow up my Twitter feed with meaningless drivel amd random retweets like JR and best of all, is a comic book nerd. I think Punk is a good example of someone who other wrestlers should take example from when it comes to Twitter. I'm so glad he doesn't constantly promote his job on Twitter 24/7 and also uses it to give some insight on his personal hobbies as well.

I also follow JR but as time went on, I realized that his tweets are of very little interest to me since most of them are just retweets of random people who love his BBQ sauce so I'm thinking of giving him the boot.
