I'm Already Excited For College Football...

And if they're natl. contending/BCS teams than I will watch for sure, I love that shit, all I was saying is that the regular season has a lot of boring ass games with schools that nobody cares about.

but, it doesnt. there are always at least four games on. Just because YOU dont care about them doesnt make you right.

I'm a defense guy, so those low scoring games don't bother me.

Doesnt bother me either, if its because a defense is preforming well, and not because the coaches would rather call two runs up the middle and then a check down to the RB and punt in their opponents side of the 50, so as to not take any risk for blame at all.

most of the time in the NFL, it is the latter.

Never. Besides first thing in the morning, there is literally ALWAYS a game with two stud teams, usually multiple. I never have a saturday were I am not watching at LEAST two major clashes at a time. Shit, one weekend last year I had to set up an extra tv in my living room.

Maybe I have a different definition of a good team than you do, which would make sense since I'm only a casual CF fan

its not bullshit at all. 80% of teams run either the spread or pro style or west coast. there are literally about five teams on the D1 level that run an option based offense, as opposed to about 110 teams who dont. You are simply wrong, and spweing rhetoric that is just incorrect.

Gee, that's not 0 is it? And did I ever say anything about "option based offense" I just basically said the option is overused, maybe less than it was a few years ago, but still overused imo.

they aspire to be NFL so they can get paid. Hello. True its the highest level of competition, but that in and of itself doesnt make it even remotely as entertaining as college football. not even close. EVERY WEEK you have games whose points dont add up to even 20, combined.

Cause of dem big ol boys on defense

Like I said, you can have your Dolphins - Browns 3 to 6 conservativefests, ill take people who are trying to win rather than just keep their jobs any day

I'll take better athletes/football players trying to win and doing so at the highest level possible

We won an Orange Bowl fairly recently, what has your irrelavent school done?

Won a share of the Big 12 South this past season and both of the teams playing in the championship game were beaten by us and we also have won more Big 12, national, and former conference football championships than Kansas.

In any major sport for that matter?

Lets see recently we have won the Men's Golf National Championship in 2009, Men's Outdoor Track National Championship 2009-2011, Women's Outdoor Track National Championship 2009-2011 and Conference Tournament 2010, Women's Basketball National Championship 2011, Men's Baseball Big 12 Championship in 2008 & 2011 and Tournament 2007, 2010-2011, Women's Golf Big 12 Championship, and I could keep going but really you seem to have no idea what you're talking about dude. Lets compare this long list to Kansas' recent accolades, National Championships: 2008 Men's Basketball. Conference Championships: 2006 Big 12 Tournament Championship for Softball and Baseball, 2005-2011 Big 12 Championship Men's Basketball with several co-championships thrown in that mix. They sure do have a better athletic program I tell ya what.

Top 50 teams with giant fan bases and conference if not national title aspirations?

So becuase more than zero teams in college runs the option, college is not as entertaining as the NFL? What the fuck are you even trying to say in this paragraph? BTW, The Oregon Ducks, the most entertaining team in the nation and one of the prolific offenses in the history of the game of football are an option based offense. And also a team you yourself said you liked watching? You would have a near miraculous situation to have two option based offenses. In fact, ZERO teams run a straight up, T-Bone style option offense. You are just incorrect on that, and simply talking shit.

they dont try to win, often. I have a fun little game I enjoy playing, which is "count up how many millonaires are standing around doing nothing" on every given NFL play. The only times you get true efforts and vicious hits are the first three weeks, and the playoffs. Not to mention the fact you can loose 5 to 7 games and still get to the super bowl.

Lose two, and you can say goodbye in college football.

:lmao:

49'er fan right here. It's only most of the time when you're watching the Niners or any other shit team with no offense.

Not right about what? That they're boring? I don't think I can be wrong about that.

Are you talking about teams that arent popular among the masses, or entertainment value? What the fuck points are you even trying to make?

Shit, the smaller teams give you the craziest barn burners sometimes. Boise State vs Nevada was one of the best football games last year, on ANY level of competition.

the defenses generally dominate the offenses in the NFL, regularly. Thats a pretty commonly known thing.

I'm referring to the singletary special, two runs up the middle, check down to rb. Luckily you won't have to suffer through too much of that this year, if there even is a this year.

I saw all those games too, blackout restrictions limit me to two of the shittiest teams in the NFL.

The only CF game I watched in it's entirety last year was the Alabama-Auburn game at the end of the year. Twas awesome. But generally, I don't like watching CF. The only time it's good to be a MU fans is when we play KU in Football.

Its funny (and cripplingly sad) that someone who isnt a Niners fan can pick out what I said and know who my favorite football team is from about 100 miles away.

Oh, Singletary. You incompetent fuck.

thats the thing though. Games like that are much more the norm than the exception.

In the Big 12 alone there were some amazing games: Oklahoma vs Ok State, Texas vs Oklahoma, Nebraska vs Texas, A&M vs Ok State, Oklahoma vs A&M, Oklahoma vs Nebraska, A&M vs Nebraska, and many others that I didn't have the opportunity to watch probably featuring Missouri.

The thing is, I have to be emotionally invested in a game for it to be exciting. I was into that Auburn-Alabama game because of all the shit that was going on with Cam Newton and I wanted him to win, thus the game was exciting. I've heard for ages how exciting Boise State's offense is but I can't just watch a football game for that. I follow all 32 teams in the NFL. No matter who is playing who I have a dog in the fight. There's like 8,000 college teams, I'm not following all that.

I look forward to GA Tech running it's way to hopefully an attempt at the ACC Championship. Who knows maybe more than 10 passes will be completed this season.

meh, there is plenty of storylines to most games, and it can just simply be entertaining. A bit of research goes a LONG fucking way to enhance college football.

I would also like to clarify, that if you just simply prefer the NFL game, then that is well within your right, and thats fine.

But the criticisms being levied by some were just flat out incorrect, which was the only reason I was debating it.

they dont need it, just the proper athletes to run their offense. that Triple option can be fucking DEVASTATING if ran properly. One of my favorite offenses to run in the video games, I fucking whomp people using that offense

Oh I agree. I don't have any heavy criticism for College Football. If the NFL season is actually held up, I know I'll be watching CF to get my fix. I'm already jonesing.

When I said major sports i meant football and basketball. I should have clarified before, so you wouldn't go on a duck hunt for random irrelevant accomplishments your irrelevent uni has achieved. And our basketball program is light years ahead of yours, in fact our b-ball program alone makes our athletic program at least on par with yours. And you guys haven't won bowl game since 01, and it was a shitty bowl game anyways.

If you're talking about me then you're the one that's flat out incorrect, the only criticisms I levied against CF were opinions, I wasn't just saying random incorrect shit about CF and claiming it to be true.

Doesnt fucking matter, they are still wrong :lmao:

Unless you are telling me that because the 5 teams you like dont play in every game, and that some teams run the option sometimes are valid reasons, then alright, man :lmao:

I adore the option offense. Thats why I like to watch Navy and Army. Especially Navy since they run it so well.

But the notion of the NFL being 'run, run, and run some more' is pretty wrong. At least nowadays. Back 10-12 years ago I could see but not now. last year there were 10 guys that averaged 250 pass yards a game, with 9 more being above 220. It's a passing league now and has become more offensively oriented.

Also there were a lot of great NFL games in teh regular season. College has more though because it has more teams, obviously increasing their chances.
