Can you believe there are people out there who don't like Rey Rey?

"Oh, he's just there to sell masks to the kiddies."

"Oh, he always makes an unrealistic comeback."

"Oh, he should never be world champion again because his first reign sucked!"

Oh?

The fact that Mysterio gets hated on by anyone is disgusting and makes me upset that these people breathe the same air as me.

1) Selling merchandise and appealing to kids isn't a bad thing. Wrestling is marketed to the people who buy Cena shirts, Mysterio masks, and DX glowsticks in bulk because they're not stuck up fanboys, just fans. There's a damn good reason they're treated like the most important fans. They are. They're the easiest sell. They don't need to give you lame 30 year old man-children who watch wrestling through your overly-judgemental, joyless filters (the single guy crowd who drool Dr. Pepper-addled saliva down their chin while wearing a Dorito stained t-shirt) any extra attention while it's the family crowd's money that's being raked in hand over fist at the moment.

2) It's wrestling. Face comebacks are part of the norm in most wrestling promotions and the most basic for of crowd psychology. Deal with it.

3) You know who else had shitty first title reigns? The Rock. Triple H. Edge. Yet I don't see anyone saying they shouldn't be the heavyweight champion because of their crappy reigns.

Seriously, not liking Mysterio for any of these reasons should get you banned from Wrestlezone. You haters are the absolute bottom of the barrel.

Personally I love Rey and he is very entertaining and is more than just selling to the kiddies wearing the mask. However valid reason which i accept people don't like rey is because of the unrealism i mean cmon a guy who is 5'6 170lbs there is no hey even stands a chance against a muscle bound 250pounder.So rey is great just can be a bit unbeleivable at times(-:

I enjoy ray in the ring and would welcome a heavyweight or wwe title reign, but, whenever ray gets on the mic to cut a promo I feel the urge to cringe and turn away. He seems to have to resort to Spanish for cheap pops at the end of seemingly all his promos.

As a wrestling fan its good to throw all reality out the window, at least while watching the programming, and that works in rays favor, but the main reason, in my mind that he has yet to have another title reign are his terrible mic skills. That is also the main reason I'm no fan of ray.

Having to bump heads with twenty kinds every time he come down gets a little old too.

I'm not a huge fan but I think it was his feuds that bored me. The whole david vs Goliath thing was played out. The Kane feud started off good and went nowhere. It wasn't until his stellar performance in the Elimination Chamber that I thought he could be champ again and that he could still go in the ring.

Once he went back home to Smackdown his momentum never slowed he had a great feud with Jericho and Ziggler and I would personally love to see another reign on Smackdown. The stars there are smaller builds and could have realistic matches against Punk, Morrison, Hardy and Ziggler of the Heavyweight Championship in the future

Are you serious? Okay I understand if you're pissed off about people not liking Rey Mysterio, but to say they should go join Al-Qaeda, WTF! What you have to understand about Rey is he is a small wrestler. To most people who aren't kids, it's not believable that he can take down other wrestlers who are much bigger than him. That's why when he won the WHC at WM 22, it had to be in a triple threat match. Angle and Orton did most of the work in that match, while Rey was able to sneak in and hit a couple of quick moves every now and then. If you go back to Unforgivien 2007, it was supposed to be Rey VS Khali for the WHC one on one. Then they added Batista to the match to make at triple threat. Nobody would've bought Rey being able to beat or wrestle Khali one and one that's why WWE had to add Batista to the match. I know Khali is shit in the ring, but still he's a giant, and Rey isn't. As far as comparing Rey's first title reigns to HHH, Edge, and The Rock, that's just crazy. Rey's first title win at WM 22 seemed like a miracle. While HHH, The Rock, and Edge's first title wins were meant to put them on the map.

The Kane feud started off good and went nowhere.
That has way more to do with Kane than it does Mysterio. Kane sucks. He's a big sloppy oaf. His character makes me embarassed to watch wrestling in front of people. He's overrated as fuck and his career is going nowhere. Months upon months of Mysterio's career were wasted in that feud. As you can clearly see, and as you pointed out, Mysterio is just as good as ever. He was awesome in the EC, is great against the likes of Jericho, Punk, and Morrison, and could easily be seen to get wins over them. Same with Orton and Angle in his first title reign. Same with Edge and many other modern day title contenders. The success of Mysterio's reign is all on how it's booked.

And even when he fights somewhat larger guys, Mysterio can still look plenty good. His match with JBL at Judgement Day 2006 for the World Championship was a WWE MOTYC.

I don't have a problem with the fact that he sells merchandise or that he's marketed towards kids. And he's seemed to be motivated starting with No Way Out earlier this year, putting on an incredible performance with Edge for the title in the Chamber. He's gone on to have incredible matches with Jericho, Ziggler, and Morrison.

However, he had two awful feuds with Kane and Mike Knox. What I don't like is how the 619 takes too much to set up. I also don't like how he fails Wellness, killing a feud with Ziggler that was going really going well and then complaining to the media about getting caught. He clashed with management over failing Wellness, and then he gets rewarded with a Tag Title shot and a World Championship Title shot on his return... most likely because he threatened to leave if he wasn't pushed upon coming back.

Just thought of something anyway, if I don't like Rey, how does that make me a terrorist? He's from fucking Mexico.

Rey is a great wrestler, one of the best. I love watching his matches because they are almost always guaranteed to deliver.

But I can't stand listening to him, his promos are some of the worst. He can't act and has an annoying voice only rivaled by Vickie Guerrero. I didn't mind him winning the title so much as I minded having to hear him on the mic.

As much as I like the Guerreros and Mysterio, their promos are/were lame, annoying and bad tv. Period. That storyline with Rey's son was one of the worst of all-time. Vickie Guerrero should never be allowed anywhere near a camera or a microphone.

Mysterio is an IC champ, but no more. Sorry, when you are at the main event level in this generation of wrestling you need to have some mic ability, or presence. He doesn't have that. The more he talks the less seriously you have to take him, because he sounds like a 5 year old. He's been in wrestling so long now, you'd think he'd be able to have a bearable 1 minute promo. But he can't. Some people have it and some people don't.

Personally, I love Rey Mysterio. He is one of the best in ring performers of this decade and he is very popular.

We all know about his in ring ability and let's face it, he has had the best series of matches this year with Jericho. His match on SD with JoMo was quite possibly the best match ever on SD. He also had one of the best tag matches that we have seen this year with Jerishow. So we all know that Mysterio can perform and perform at a high level.

He sales a load of merchandise for the WWE and theres never anything wrong with that. I also love how he interacts with the kids when he makes his entrance. How he embraces the ones that are wearing his masks on the way down the ramp. That is a class act right there people.

With all of that said, I hated Mysterio as a WHC. It was ridiculous. I know wrestling is fake, however, I like for it to have some level of believability and when Rey won the WHC it all went flying out of the window. I don't even like why he was given a shot at the WHC. Eddie dying was horrible, yes, but that shouldn't have been the reason that Mysterio got a shot at the title. To me, that says, "Hey, if you have a death in the family, you can be WHC." It was just done horribly. I think that we can all say, with confidence, that if Eddie hadn't passed away, Rey never would have been WHC.

I still love Rey Rey though.

That is all!

Well I was gonna join Al-Qaeda anyway, the internet tutorial videos really are good.

Anyway, yeah Rey's alright, I cant say as I have a particular fondness for him, all I see is a jumpy little dude with a stupid finisher, thats not to criticise, there are lots of jumpy dudes and lots of people with silly finishers, I like quite a few of them, just not overly keen on Rey Rey.

Cant complain about him though, just because I dont care, after all, there are plenty that do.

He's over with the crowd and sells a lot of merchandise, and has a great style of wrestling, but his size just hurts him. I'm a Mysterio fan I don't wanna knock on him. He's a great champion, but he's poorly booked against the bigger guys and rightly so. He's what 5'6, 165 or so? He's not big enough for the WHC or WWE title at all. He'll make a great champion on ECW maybe but the mid card is where he belongs, no matter how over he gets with the fans.

The people who hate ReyRey are commonly the people who loved him when he was in WCW. It's cool to like a cruiserweight, but not when the guy shines in a company without a cruiserweight division?

ReyRey is a fantastic worker. This year alone he put in the best performance out of any in the Elimination Chambers, he won the IC title at WrestleMania, he defended the title in a classic feud with Chris Jericho, which will probably win feud of the year, he put on probably the best TV match of the year with John Morrison and he returned from suspension in a fantastic tag team match at Hell in a Cell.

On top of all that, he, as you say, is a perfect role model for the kids (underdog rising to the top) and he shifts a hell of a lot of merchandise. There is nothing to hate ReyRey about. So what if he is small, that is the point behind his underdog character. As for those who complain he beat Kane, so fuck? Wresting's not realistic. Mysterio is the better talent out of the two and deserved being put over.

Rey Mysterio is a very talented wrestler, in just about every way. I'm not sure he should ever be a champion, because he realy doesn't need it - just look at how much merch he shifts...

Mysterio's only problem, and it isn't really his problem, is that a lot of bigger workers don't really know how to work with him, which is why we get the shower of shit matches lagainst the likes of Kane. However, his matches with Jericho and to a lesser extent Ziggler show exactly how good he can be when paired with a suitible opponent.

There is nothing wrong with Rey Mysterio. Sure, his moveset has been limited by the WWE's gangerous move policy and has had around 4-5 surgeries on his left knee alone... but he is a great wrestler in his own right. He easily plays the underdog face wrestler well and has been able to give huge heel heat to anyone that faces him. Eddie/Chavo Guerrero and Batista are the most notable for getting heels more over as heels with the crowd where basically everybody falls in line with cheering Mysterio. He sells a heap of merchandise, does well in drawing and provides something unique in the ring since the disbanded Cruiserweight Division.

Rey Mysterio is everything you would want from an employee in the role of a professional wrestler. There are not many like Rey and the WWE keeping him onboard for this long, treating him well and not punishing him as severely as others have in the past when violating the Wellness Policy is an excellent move. I applaud Mysterio for his contributions to the business and hope that he finishes his career with an exclamation point.

I like Rey a lot but to say that if you don't like him go join Al-Qaeda is just nonsense. Every is entitle to they opinion.

Some people may not like him at all and some might have valid points and others might not.

Rey is good, for the enviroment in which he moves, he is might seem to small but the guy can deliver and has tons of charisma.
