I just bought Playstation Move

Excellence of Execution
Actually, I bought a new PS3, and it had Playstation Move in the package. Got the 320 GB edition. Why? Because my other one was starting to give out, and I was seeing errors in the my display. Of course, the games played just fine, and the errors were merely annoyances, but that's a justifiable excuse to spend $400 dollars, right?

Right?

This Playstation Move better be kickass someday.

From what I gather now it's not really much more than a good way to fuck around with friends. The games aren't great, but you can play with a bunch of people at a time and it's good for a few laughs, similar to half the games on the Wii.

The NBA 2K11 supports it, and hopefully as time goes on, more games will be developed with it in mind. But I figured if i was going to buy a new system, might as well do it the right way.

I bought my first PS3 back in January of 2007. Four years is a pretty good ride with any computer system, especially one that has been used as heavily as mine has. And I'm not throwing it away, it'll just go in another room.

They're working on a Playstation Move pack for LittleBigPlanet 2, so there's that.

Out of the three motion sensors for the newer generation consoles, I'd say that Kinect is the best in comparison to the Wii and the Playstation move. The kinect truly shows you how much gaming has evolved, and while it has minor flaws, it also shows you that the technology is out there.

You know why it's called a playstation move right? Cos as soon as you see it you will want to move away from it.

what? it makes more sense then the 360 joke...

the games at the moment they have for it look shit but hopefully they make some soon that makes it worth buying.

I've got the original PS3 (ya know, the ONLY one that was backwards compatible) and mine's never had a single fault with it in all that time. I've also got the original colour gameboy at home too, in perfect working order.

On a related note, fuck Move. Dualshock till I die.

Damn straight. Why the fuck do i want to have to stand up and wave my hands around to play a video game? Surely the whole point is to sit on my ass and move nothing more than my fingers right? Except to grab my beer/smoke of course.

I'd only ever consider buying Move when Metal Gear Solid: Rising comes out next year.

Speaking of which, now that you've mentioned the backwards compatability; was the first Playstation 3 the only one that could play PS2 games?

I bought my Dad a PS3 for his birthday last November, one of the slim 160GB ones; and it plays PS3 and PS1 games. I could have sworn I've played a PS2 game on a PS3 before, seems like abit of a strange design if you can't play PS2 games, but you can play PS1.

Yeah. All the fun of a real pet. Except they aren't real.

The slim PS3's don't have backward compatibility. Depending on the model of the original PS3 you had, they had issues with backward compatibility as well. It's actually fairly difficult to find one of the original PS3's that had perfect backward compatibility.

Because he doesn't have an Xbox?

Not to mention Sly has criticized the 360 left and right whenever the opportunity presented itself?

On an unrelated note, Uncharted 2 is awesome, and I just got my copy of Demon Souls in. I'll be on my PS3 this weekend for awhile.

I've got my 22 year old NES. It still works
I still have mine, but it's kind of hit or miss on whether it works. Emulators are just a better experience.

Agreed, I've played with a Move a couple of times and haven't been impressed. With that said, if I was going to buy a PS3 anyways, I can save a lot of money by buying a PS3 with Move packaged inside. Just made sense.

I bought my first PS3 in January of 2007, a 60 GB machine. It was a beast, I've put so many hours on that thing, I'm surprised I haven't had problems before now. But for years that was my machine for Blu-Rays, DVDs, games and streaming music. And I always have to watch a DVD or Blu-Ray when I go to sleep, so many times that thing would be on overnight.

I've been very pleased with the use I've gotten out of my Playstation 3. With that said, it still works pretty well.

I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and I can't help but think how fucking awesome it would be to fuck people up with a Move. Or to do like the Wii has done and get a gun to throw the Move wand in and play Call of Duty.

I can see a lot of potential greatness for it. But it's potential only right now.

There were two different releases that could do it, if I remember correctly. The very first one had hardware which read the PS2 games, and basically you could play every PS2 game. The next batch had a PS2 emulator in it (in order to make the system cheaper to produce), and PS2 games weren't quite as dependable. Then they took that feature out completely.

If it hasn't already been said. Why get a Move (which has controllers) when you get get a Kinect(which doesn't have controllers).
The answer to this question comes when you are able to answer a much more important question:

Why get a XBox360 when you can buy a console which is superior in every way in the Playstation 3? Not to mention the fact, the Playstation 3 is cheaper per GB of HDD when packaged with the move vs. the Kinect. The Xbox offers a 250 GB hard drive with Kinect and Playstation offers 320 GB with Move for the same price. Throw in the free online play and a solid Blu-Ray player (not to mention the much more powerful processor and larger disc space for games), who the fuck buys an Xbox?

I have one.

In my defense, that's only because the Xbox360 is so shitty, and anyone who buys one is an idiot, especially since the price of a Playstation 3 is basically the same as Xbox.

If they're going to incorporate Move into FPSes, they need to make it Move exclusive. Not like Goldeneye Wii, where people who use the Wiimote get auto-lock on and people who don't use it, well, don't. Not so fair when there's a one hit kill sniper rifle in the game.

My brother is considering getting a PS3. I'm happy with my 360 though I'm NOT happy with Cablevision. I CAN'T USE ESPN 3!!!!!!! grrr :disappointed:

I feel obligated to point out that if processing power and memory is what you're looking for, a gaming PC wins hands down every time.

This year's the year I get into PC gaming. You know, as soon as I get a decent computer. Any day now.
