How Ted Jr Can Step up. Cena sells him the title...

Think about it Ted is currently in the upper-midcard level on RAW and he needs that little umph to push him up to the Main Event level. I think that this would be perfect.

Not only would this add extra heat to Ted but it could get fans to question Cena. No this doesn't mean Cena has to turn heel but out of all the ideas of turning Cena heel that i've read on here this one makes more sense then most of them.

Thoughts and opinions on this?

Why the hell would Cena want to sell his title? What sense would that make? Like seriously, how does that turn him heel? What are his motives? Cena gets NOTHING out of selling his title, absolutely nothing. And before anyone says cash, like Cena needs it...

DiBiase's got along way to go before he's out of his fathers shadow. A loooong way. And this doesn't help do anything but keep him under there.Maybe with a smaller belt (The US title perhaps?) but not the WWE Title. To me that doesn't work past what his father did and even then, he was stripped of the title and he never officially held it. Cena isn't the right guy to do this with. Perhaps when he's better suited for ther main event, Ted could TRY and fail and have to get his hands dirty but outside of that, I don't see this happening.

I don't think WWE will do another angle where a title is sold, and if they did it would happen on SmackDown instead of Raw.
Even if Ted was to buy a title, it would be vacated so he wouldn't be regognised as champion.
Maybe a better way to go would be to have Ted buy the MiTB briefcase next year, and cash that in for the title.

Perhaps they can merge two previous plots together here. Taking on board the DiBiase/Andre plot and the JBL/HBK plot. Have someone like the Great Khali, someone who serves no purpose and actually do something with him for a bit. Have him return in a couple months, claiming he will go through with what he said that on his return he will be champion. During the title match, DiBiase costs Cena the match and then will find out DiBiase is going to buy the title of Khali due to financial problems and has been working for him.
The WWE then strips Khali of the title, goes to a tournament and have someone else win it. At MITB, Khali qualifies, wins the case then sells the briefcase to DiBiase in return for freedom and a debt free life.

A different take on a classic story and gives two wrestlers something to do. It also allows DiBiase time to develop further.

i think there is another way for Ted Dibiase Jr to step up.

we've already seen and read the responses on why John Cena would never sell the title. it's just not his gimmick. it could work for Swagger, Big Show or any number of present and future world champions, but not for Cena.

but what Ted could do is a combination of his dad's tactics and the tactics of the Godfather. hear me out...

remember when Ted Dibiase Sr bought his way into the #30 spot in the Royal Rumble? or when the Godfather would offer up his ladies to his opponent to forfeit the match?

i think Ted Jr could do a combination of those things: buy his way into matches and buy his way into title matches at that. "hey you, you've got a shot at the IC title... i'll buy your position in that match so i can have a shot at the IC title."

something like that. build this up and maybe buy his way into the #30 spot in the Rumble or buy his way into the last man in the Elimination Chamber or buy his way into Money in the Bank or buy his way into Fatal Four Way. you get the idea.

the point is, he doesn't have to buy the title. he can simply buy his way into the title hunt and it's a bit more believable, plus it could give him a slow push toward that status, as opposed to throwing him in the deep end and hoping he swims rather than sinks.

As posted this Idea dosen't work, its a re-hashed idea from hsi dad ect. ect. Everyones pretty much piling on reason after reason why this idea wouldn't work..

But this topic did make me think about something..

You want dibiasie to "buy" the belt", well, why not have him Purchase the MITB Breifcase from the winner.. It's basically a "guarenteed title shot".. It would be much more logical for him to buy the MITB breifcase then the WWE Title, especially after Dibiasie SR. Did it and had the title striped from him.

So yea you could have Dibiasie kind of "buy" the title in the form of the MITB Breifcase.

Plus it would be one hell of a moment to watch R-Truth, or Jomo climb up the MITB ladder this july, grab the breifcase, and turn around and sell it to Dibiase.

Well I personally do not feel the Cena angle would work, I feel if say Cena lost the title to Batista (who only wants to destroy Cena as we have seen, and is rumored to be leaving) we can have Batista sell the title to Ted and then have Cena in the face role fighting against Ted for the belt. This can have Batista announce his retirement as he has destroyed his rival and has a nice retirement package from Ted for the title. Another scenario is to have Big Show who we assume is a face now, win the title from Swagger then turn around and sell it to Ted, claiming he and Ted had an agreement the night of the Draft, also the Andre comparisons are there if they really want Ted to be like his dad.

Do I think he should buy the title and become his dad, well no I don't. But I feel those are more logical scenarios then Cena selling it. Also I feel that Ted should go on a fued with Morrison and Truth for a while, possibly start that Fortunate Sons Stable, then have said stable turn on him and turn him face. I can see the crowd accepting him as a face.

This is actually a very good idea, but it does need tweaked a little bit. John Cena selling the title would be like Hogan selling the title. It would never happen, which is why Hogan lost the title to Andre and he sold the title. Well you would have to do the same thing.

You have Batista beat John Cena for the title at some PPV down the road. Ted buys the title off of Batista, which makes him even more of a heel, and considering the fact that Batista has came out and said he does his job for the money it makes perfect sense. I know some of you are saying Ted isn't ready to hold the title but did you all really think Swagger was ready for a major title or that Sheamus has done enough to carry it? They take chances on people and this would be one of them.

He doesn't have to carry the title for 6 months, but having him hold it for a month or two gives him a push to superstar status. This would also be a perfect to do when/if the "Fortunate Sons" stable is created. Gives them credibility for a while.

This would be a sure-fire way to generate a great heel turn, but it will never happen for the reasons mentioned, namely the whole thing revolving around Ted Dibiase.

Its a unique idea, just not a realistic one.

Though many, including me, hated JBL, this would have been a good idea for him to try and pull.

It would be a very stupid idea to due that because Cena's character would be given a heel type position, and would ya really like yet another million dollar man wanabe. I mean that it is really OK to try something like that but why would Cena or any other champion want to give his title up for money I really don't see anyone but the Miz doing that anyway just to get a quick buck. Buy the why wen is Joe Hennig going to Join the main roster as a heel like character like his daddy. Hardy 8778 out

I think there is no way that will. The only way you could even try anything like that is going back to wrestlemania IV and million dollar man buying the belt via someone else. trouble is thats already been done so that can't happen either. You could try and make someone associated with Cena TD jnr's ne3w "Virgil" thus maybe striking feud but Cena could never sell the belt with the wwe the way it is.
