There's a place in Boston (maybe it's a bigger chain than just Boston, but I haven't seen them anywhere else) called Tasty Burger that tries to re-create the whole "Burger and a shake" scene but with a 21st century twist. It's a sit-down/carry-out restaurant, and while I usually do the sit-down thing if I go, one time I elected to get the sack of 5 burgers to take home so I can enjoy them properly.

Properly.

That sounds stellar, reminds of a themed restaurant we had around here as a kid. They tried to recreate the 50's burger and shake restaurant. It was actually pretty cool when it first opened, plus they had a full blown arcade put in when most places were shutting theirs down.

A newer restaurant/sports bar around here has some pretty good burgers too. Specialty ones such as a fried egg on a bacon cheeseburger (of coursed called a Heart Attack Burger). I'd go there more often but the service is horrendous. I called for take out one time, stopped in and asked the nearest waitress where I pick up my order. She ran around checking with all the other servers while I waited for a good 10 minutes, finally the bartender did the smart thing and checked the system, turns out it was the waitress running around checking with everyone else that took my order. 20 minutes later I finally got my order that wasn't kept in a warmer or anything like that. Still don't understand why any of the servers could just ring up my food, not like I was going to tip them anyway.

I'm usually pretty lenient when it comes to service. I'm not a hard ass when I'm at a restaurant, if you check in once or twice after the food's been served, that's good enough by me. However if it's absolutely horrendous as the story above (and that was just picking up food, I've had bad times dining in at that place too) then I won't go back. I understand if you're busy sometimes service isn't the greatest, but there was 5 other people in the place besides me.

Not everyone's body works the same. Keep that in mind. Some people can chug down loads of fast food and show no ill effects quite a few years because of their body's metabolism.

My cousin is like that.

Out eats me at any family gathering. Absolutely destroys plate after plate.

He weighs 150 lbs at around 5'10". Skinny as hell.

I typically have one serving/one plate at any meal. I weigh 230 lbs.

If by fast food you mean stuff like McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's, then I think the last time I went through a drive-through was two months ago when I got a chicken breakfast burrito and yogurt parfait at Chick-fil-a. I have no problem with people eating the stuff I mentioned, it's just that I can't anymore. I literally feel like a big sack of shit after I eat a meal from any of the places I just mentioned. I think this has to do with the fact that I'll be 30 next year and can't pack it away like I used to when I was in my early- to mid-20s. Chinese also has a horrible effect on my well-being now too.

With all this said, the one thing I will never, ever be able to quit is pizza. I don't order a whole pizza for myself like I used to, but I'll get a couple of slices two or three times a month.

More than likely, typically I only feel like shit if I get BK, McDonalds, or get fries/chips with my food.

I eat about 3-4 slices per serving, typical on Sunday nights, I then eat the left overs the next night. Also I don't consider pizza as "fast food".

I think for most people when you reach a certain point in life, wanting to live one, five, or ten years longer has little to do with what you want for yourself and more to do with wanting to follow and know the people you care about like kids, spouses, and the Buffalo Bills.

That being said I really need to take better care of myself.

JGlass, you know that shit is out the window when you come on visits to the new Castle NorCal

You know I'm down for pizza/local chains any day, but I just won't eat McDonalds or Taco Bell or any of that stuff. I don't want it, and even if I did I don't think my stomach could handle it.

But if you want to get a plate of 100 mozz sticks with some wings in the middle, I'd be down for that. There's a great chain in Boston called Wings Over that has amazing wings and like, 20 different flavors or something, and I get that about once a month.

We live in a good time for burgers. People have finally started to stray away from the traditional meat/cheese combo and you can get some pretty interesting burgers these days. There's a small chain here called Boston Burger Company that has something like 30 different specialty burgers that vary from burger with cheese and bacon to peanutbutter and banana to guacamole and pepper jack, etc.

When it comes to a quick, cheap fix for convenience, or I'm too lazy to cook anything, I go for the chicken nuggets value meal at McDonald's (or Wendy's). Or something from Subway, but I always have a hard time resisting the cookies. And I started going to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, because I needed an alternative for McDonald's and Burger King. The stuff at McDonald's and Burger King would kill my stomach for hours, and the prices at Einstein Bros. Bagels and Panera Bread are ridiculous.

I guess I could count Little Caesars also, because a Little Caesars near me has a drive through. I needed to switch things up between Domino's and Pizza Hut, and I haven't eaten Papa Johns in a while, because their pizza looks and tastes like shit.

Maybe once a month. McDonald's fries for the win. It's a good fallback for when something other than corn with trace amounts of potatoes isn't available. Plus, they're fucking delicious.

That was more than square pizza. That was party pizza, and it was good. But if you think that's good, you must have your mind blown when you get NJ pizza.

The stuff we always got at D-Man's old place was always pretty solid. Cant say ive ever been blown away from anything up there though.

Hmmm that's a shame. Next time you're in New Jersey for an extended period of time and I'm there at the same period of time, we should get pizza in my town.

Probably once a week.
I do most of the cooking in my house and sometimes I'd just rather get something out. Plus twice a week we go out and buy groceries and pay bills and it's become a habit to get something on the way home.
I should note that I'm including delivery stuff in this like pizza, Chinese and Jimmy John's.

Usually once a week for Raw. Twice depending on a pay per view. Hook it up with Taco Bell during raw and then Pizza for the pay per view.

I eat it every day I work, almost. It's funny, I work at a grocery store, it has a really nice kitchen/cafe area where they make really good food too and yet I still go to either McDonald's or Taco Bell every day for lunch. I try not to be in the store as much as possible so getting lunch from the store and eating it in the breakroom is not really an option for me.

Only when I'm drunk, because I have to walk past all the fast food places on the way home from my favourite bar. Usually the only time I eat fast food when I'm sober is when someone else is buying, because this country is way too expensive to eat fast food often. So yeah, once a month on average.

What's Dublin like for that? Being a Galway student most students generally flock to one of the 2 dozen supermacs here leaving everywhere else relatively easy going.

Dude, if you work in a Wegman's or Whole Foods, then you have some seriously fucked up nutritional priorities.

It's unfortunate but I work about 66 hours a week and am a full time student still, so unless I want to spend 12-15$ for something more edible every single day I just stick with fast food.
