HHH on Smackdown

DEGENERATE KID

Dark Match Winner
So we all know now that come October, Smackdown will be moving to Sy-Fy. But wat if, on the debut of Smackdown on Sy-Fy, HHH makes his long awaited return? i mean Smackdown really lacks in big name talent and this would do wonders for the show. So do you think THE GAME could be the 1st step of creating a smackdown that is on par with raw?
What are your thoughts? Could it happen and how will it play out?
If this in the wrong section please move it.

I think Smackdown is the place for ppl like Triple H. why? well for one Triple H should still be competing for titles and winning them sometimes.. when he was on smackdown he had that. he cant do that on raw with all the new talent needing to get built up.. miz and ted.. and younger talent like orton and cena already in the spot light.. smackdown is the best place for him. im sure most ppl wont agree but thats just my view of things. i thought he did good on smackown in 08.

To JBL - The only reason you were champ for a year was because Triple H didn't want to work tuesdays! - Paul Heyman, ECW One Night Stand 2005

Five years later, I still think HHH doesn't want to work on Tuesdays. It's not so much the day he has an issue with, as it is the show it's attached to. Despite the other stars and talent showcased on the Smackdown brand, it is still the WWE "B-show" to many people... HHH included in my opinion. A stand-up guy like the Undertaker will put his blood and sweat into making Smackdown feel like an A show night in and out. HHH? Not so much. He'll be perpetually concerned with why he's not on the A show rather than making Smackdown A caliber.

That said, he might be used on the inaugural Smackdown on SyFy to pop ratings and generate a smoother channel switch. In the weeks following, he may even wrestle a few matches there to keep the momentum going a bit. Even if his "run" is successful, it will simply be a matter of time before he's back on RAW.

In 2010, Trips still won't tolerate working Tuesday nights. His ego and "place in the company" simply won't allow him to.

I'm kind of growing used to the current Smackdown roster and am enjoying seeing relatively underused talent get to be the focus of the show. Triple H may come back to Smackdown for a while, depending on his health I would imagine. If he can go full-throttle, he may well spend a little time on SD. If he's still nursing his way back to 100%, I see him on Raw, doing less wrestling and more "entertaining" until he's ready to go.

I mean, Raw is the entertainment show and SD is the wrestling show in my eyes.

I think I read one time from Jim Ross that the SmackDown travel schedule is more favorable than the RAW schedule because the roster is off on the weekends which gives people more of a traditional work schedule instead of being home at odd times. Don't hold me to that but I believe I read that correctly. From a real-life personal standpoint, the SmackDown schedule would favor HHH because he will have some traditional family time with the wife and kids. In all actuality, he can probably get any schedule he wants because of who he married. Now from a professional standpoint, don't expect to see HHH on SmackDown anytime soon because when he comes back, he will probably go after Sheamus first since Sheamus was the one to "put him on the shelf" whether it's just HHH by himself or if he emerges as the Nexus leader and ordered the Nexus to make sure Sheamus stays good and healthy and stays champion so when HHH comes back, he can not only go after Sheamus, but also go after the title. If he moves to SmackDown he would do it after he won the belt or he puts Sheamus "on the shelf" and then he would potentially reveal himself with or without the Nexus as the guy who put Undertaker in the "vegetative state" for ending HBK's career, thus leading up to HHH vs Taker at Mania next year.

Triple H on Smackdown would make a ton of sense at this stage considering he is more likely to be used at his highest potential because on Raw their is Cena, Edge, Orton, Jericho and you could even throw Sheamus and The Miz in their. Smackdown its really CM Punk, Mysterio, Kane, Taker, Bigshow and i suppose Swagger. Obviously the Raw guys are more star powere besides Taker and their would be more room to keep Triple H in the upper portion of the card on Smackdown. And like you said to debut Smackdown on Syfy and add a presence like this would do wonders for the brand.

i would think that, just given the storyline and feud with Sheamus, Triple H will be returning to Raw and not Smackdown.
so maybe my question would be why somebody else couldn't jump ship to Smackdown the night it debuts on Sci-Fi to get the boost?

would Orton, Edge or Jericho jumping to Smackdown bring the boost that Triple H would? maybe not, but maybe so. Jericho is one of the best at what he does, and that's not just a clever line. it's the truth. Orton is getting the biggest pops on tv right now, so he could bring a huge boost to ratings if he jumped. and Edge is just pretty gifted at being versatile, IMO.

personally, i'm pretty sure that Triple H will make his return at a pay-per-view as opposed to a tv show, say maybe Night of Champions, Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. those options seem a lot more believable to me, but i could be wrong.

I want to see Triple H hold the World Title again, I haven't seen since 2005 i think...

Although I would love him on Smackdown...he will still no matter what finish Sheamus on Raw first!!

Whenever HHH returns, it wouldn't be to SmackDown. He may not fit at the top of the food chain where Cena and Orton are, but he can be right behind them. He's still a Main Event talent, he can still work the mic, so why not put him in the Main Event of RAW, where the mic matters the most. He's getting old and hurt more, so put him where that will happen less. Let him do sort of like Taker does on SmackDown, and barely wrestle on tv. But you can't have 2 guys trying to pull that off on the same show. HHH needs to be on RAW, and can't afford to be on SmackDown.

Triple H in my mind is just a better fit on RAW. He was on SmackDown once, from June 2008-April 2009. I don't remember it being all that bad, but it was weird since he had been a fit on RAW for so many years and then to just get switched like that definitely made SmackDown's show different. Triple H and RAW just go together so well, it's basically the same thing with The Undertaker and SmackDown. Therefore I wouldn't plan on seeing Triple H head to SmackDown any time soon, however crazier things have happened.

Also Triple H had a pretty lackluster run during his time on SmackDown. He had a pointless program with Edge, maybe it was to bide time for Taker to come back, he ended up having a shit feud with The Great Khali, before finally getting into his great program with Jeff Hardy. There match at No Mercy 2008 was awesome. However the thing I still don't understand is why did Edge have to get involved in the Hardy/HHH wars nearing the end of them in November? A little food for thought I guess.

Triple H in my mind would be a welcomed edition to the SmackDown roster, as they have a general lack of face power, and I for one would love to see Triple H feud with CM Punk. But I don't see him going there anytime soon. He is perfectly content on RAW, and has unfinished business with Sheamus he has to attend to when he eventually returns.

I dont see Hunter anywhere other than Raw. He has been on Raw for the majority of his career (with a couple of short spells on SD)
However saying this, i want to see HHH come back and compete and win World Titles, unfortunately i do not see this happening on raw. There is far to much main event talent on RAW (Cena, Orton, Sheamus, Edge, Jericho) and it looks as if the Miz will be there before long. So he would definitely find it different to fit into the main event on Raw.
I think that he will be used to build up The Miz, give him a bit more credibility, in the same way he did it with Sheamus.

I’d love for this to be true and what the WWE is planning. However, I really don’t think that Triple H will rock up on Smackdown for a number of reasons.

Firstly, Triple H is not a member of the Smackdown roster and whilst I realise that it hasn’t stopped people jumping ship before, that usually happens around WrestleMania time and I don’t recall seeing anyone just willingly switch to another show without good reason.

Secondly, Triple H is not done with Sheamus and not by a long shot. These guys have so much history that it just wouldn’t make sense for Triple H to come back to feud with anyone other than Sheamus. Right now, this feud is basically on hold and will likely resume with the return of Triple H.

Lastly, Vince McMahon and Triple H for that matter, wouldn’t be happy with Triple H being on Raw. I think Vince likes to think of Triple H as the future of the WWE in terms of taking over and having him on Smackdown wouldn’t be too good of a career move for someone like that. I hazard a guess at Triple H not being too delighted at being “relegated” to what many would call the B show. The fact of the matter is that Raw would miss Triple H and I think it is missing him right now.

At the end of the day, this is a neat idea but I just don’t see it happening and it wouldn’t be really good for Smackdown either. Over on Friday nights, the competition is really intriguing. Triple H would basically be the best out and out superstar on the show and would walk into the Championship reign over there.

No, he’ll stay on Raw for sure.

I think HHH could work on SD, but selfishly enough, I really don't want to see that happen. If they do have plans on moving him over, they surely could not do it w/out having him finish his fued w/Sheamus. I mean, if HHH showed up on SD, would people suddenly forget that Sheamus is the one that put him on the shelf? It wouldn't work storyline wise to have him go over to SD without addressing the Sheamus angle. His injuries mean that Vinnie Mac and creative need to lighten his workload. RAW is certainly the show to accomplish that. Should he "jump ship" it would certainly be to be the face of Smackdown. On RAW, there are other superstars over enough w/the crowd that Trips no longer needs to carry the show. If he made the move, he wouldn't work as a role player as well as he will when he returns to RAW.

Yeah, I think above all Triple H's first move when he comes back is to finish the feud with Sheamus. Michael Cole's been eager to put over the fact that Sheamus put Trips out of action, and it just makes sense to capitalize on that, whether it involves the title or not.
