HHH/HBK or Austin/Rock

Which was the better feud between these two?

In my opinion it would be HHH and HBK just because I feel that it was way more personal than Austin vs. Rock ever was. It went beyond fighting for a championship, they just wanted to destroy each other out of pure hatred. The times that Austin & Rock fought it was mostly just to become champion, except for their last match against each other.

Which feud do you think was better?

i'ma go with HBK/HHH.

i was never a big Rock fan (i like him now though...go figure). i loved their promos leading up to the matches but i cared so little for their matches that i finally watched their 3 WM matches this summer. idk wtf was up with me but i guess i just let my dislike of The Rock keep me from enjoying their fued.

but HBK/HHH was just special cause i hoped for 4 years to see HBK back for 1 match and it finally happened...plus another 8 years including a solid 2 year fued with Hunter. and their fued was done the right way. great promos, specialty matches, "regular" matches, etc.

HBK/HHH. I loved Austin/Rock too. But, 1. I'm a HUGE HBK mark and 2. The emotion behind the HBK/HHH feud. To see HBK come back after 4 fucking years of going through changes. He came back fresh. Of course, his Heartbreak kid character died down, but that's okay. He was as awesome as ever when he returned. This feud was one of the best feuds I have ever seen.

Austin/Rock by a mile. They kept it fresh throughout their careers and they feuded when they were both midcarders and main eventers. Other than their Summerslam 2002 match, the rest of the matches HHH and HBK had bored me to tears especially their HIAC one which in my opinion is the worst one ever. Austin and Rock fought to be the best in the company and that made it a better feud to me.

HBK/HHH for sure. Everything about it was great. From the matches, promos, the history. Just overall great story telling. Rock/Austin was about as good as Hulk/Andre. I'm not knocking either as I enjoyed both but their was no realism in those 2 fueds like their was in the HBK/HHH fued. Plus every Rock/Austin match, while fun & exciting were really just a bunch a clusterfuck matches with no real in ring pschology & Austin was always the work horse of the 2 IMO which hurt their matches. Despite all that though I'd still kill to see them wrestle 1 morwe time cause they could still entertain regardless.

Austin vs Rock is like one of, or maybe the biggest WWE fued ever. It was what WWF at the time was all about, both probably had more personal and vicious rivalries with HHH but at the end of the day it was a battle between the two biggest stars in wrestling at that time who just happened to hate each other, and they made it last for years without it getting dull.

HHH vs HBK was a good fued, a far more intense personal fued, but it just cant match Austin vs Rock for sheer scale

Austin/Rock defined an era, you can't say that about HHH/HBK. Yes the latter was a lot more personal and emotional, but we have seen plenty of emotional feuds done before. The Hardy's, Michaels/Jericho, HHH/Orton, Mysterio/Guerrero etc. HHH vs HBK may have even been the most personal feud of all time, but Rock/Austin defined the late 90's and early 2000's. The WWE has benefited far more from the Rock/Austin feud than HHH/HBK and I personally enjoyed the Rock/Austin feud more.

I think I personally enjoyed the Rock/Austin feud more but the better feud has got to be HBK/HHH. The hatred between was epic and they put on a lot of good matches.

The HHH/HBK feud felt real. It felt personal, you could actually suspend your disbelief and honestly think they wanted to rip each other a new ********.

Rock/Austin, imo, was more comedic relief than anything. The feuds they had were amazing, yet it lacked the personal feel to it.

the HHH/HBK fued was better than the Austin/Rock fued. the reason for that being is because hhh/hbk are such close personal friends outside the ring that they had the chemistry to make it look more real. every match they had was a 5 start match in my opinion. Austin/Rock fued was great in it's own regard but other than their title matches against each other the rest of their matches were just plain boring. That fued came at the right time. The Attitude era needed somthin new and they got it along with DX. I think the reason Austin/Rock fued is even considered as big as it is, is because is was vince changing product and letting them do whatever they wanted.

the promos for stone cold/rock were great but apart from their wm 17 and wm19 match their matches bored me to death until the last 2 or 3 minutes....... while the hhh/hbk feus felt real and personal!....... their promos were great and their matches were equally awesome or even better.....all of their matches were 5 star classics.....
so Shawn and HHH Feud by a Mile!

Austin/ Rock, hands down, and you know what, I'm not even going to give reasons simply because if you're a wrestling fan, and have been for atleast 10-12 years, you know why this feud is hands down the best feud wwe has ever seen.....period.

the thread is so pointless... there is seriously no question here; Austin/Rock was by far the best feud. How can people say hbk hhh felt real lol, nothing felt real about it, as a matter of fact it got boring quick, and like someone before me said, it did not define a time in wrestling, austin and the rock did, facts, just because youre a mark for haitch and hbk doesnt mean you can start ridiculous threads.

Austin/Rock no contest. The Austin/Rock rivalry took place at the heart of WWF at it's creative peak and featured the 2 biggest stars of that era in their prime. HHH/HBK happened during the beginning of the new ww"E" era, a lesser era by anyones standard. Shawn, while still a great performer, was no longer in his prime. Shawn reached his peak in the mid 90's while HHH reached his peak in the early 2000's. Whereas Rock and Austin's climb to the top coincided with one another and thus there feud meant so much more as it really was about who was the best of his era. And to top it all of, the Austin/Rock feud gave us the single greatest moment in Raw history: the beer bath. Nothing beats that. Case closed.

If you were a real wrestling fan, you would know of something call "emotional feuds". You're basically being a hypocrite. You said people only choose HBK/HHH because their marks for them. But, you're only choosing Austin/Rock because you're bigger marks for The Rock and Stone Cold. How can you say HHH/HBK was boring? I'm guessing you don't like them very much...

HHH/HBK will go down in history and it will be remembered. Yes, Austin/Rock was HUGE, it was the feud of the Attitude Era. I loved the Austin/Rock feud. But I liked HBK/HHH more because it did in fact, "feel real".

I'll go with Austin/Rock.

As far as what people are saying about HHH/HBK feeling real, it was the complete opposite for me. It didn't feel as real to me because I knew they were friends, and it was obvious this was Triple H working HBK back into the business.

Austin and Rock had the whole element of Austin/McMahon all over it. The first time they faced at Wrestlemania, it was Austin Vs. Vince's Corporate Champion. The second time in 01, had a nice build up and was The Main Event of what most people say is not only the greatest WM ever but BEST PPV PERIOD! Also, Austin turned Heel and joined McMahon. Another McMahon connection to this feud.

Also, my favorite aspect to this feud is when they FIRST started to feud back in late 97. Austin was just about to become the number 1 guy and The Rock was on the rise. They had a lot of crazy moments, even in the IC Title Feud Days.

It was more than just for the title. Though HBK/HHH seemed personal. The Rock Vs. Austin was about who was the absolute BEST in wrestling's biggest era!!!

To me HBK and HHH were at their best together when they were on the same side. Early DX and later DX. Not to say they didn't have awesome matches, because they surely did!

But IMO, The Rock Vs. Steve Austin is GREATER than Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels!

I'd say Rock/Austin, as much as it was done 4 times in over 6 years they never really over used the match, HHH/HBK was over used greatly between 2002-2004, good feud and some amazing matches I felt it was over used, and to become best friends again 2 years after it made no sense.

I don’t want to make HBK / HHH feud sound bad, but that feud they had was just over done and dragged out to the point where there was no need to do it again. Yes, the history between DX’s founding fathers is there, but it would have been nice to see a Face Triple H vs. a Heel Shawn Michaels at least once.

I’m going to pick Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. It’s not only because these 2 are in my Top 3 of all time, but they Main Evented 3 WrestleManias together. No other 2 Superstars can say that. They had great battles over the Intercontinental Title. They both lead their respective Teams in the Invasion Angle. They were the Face and Heel of the WWF. They were able to switch roles (Face / Heel) and still pull off the great story. They were able to take a break from each other and pick up right where they left off over and over again. This is definitely the best feud ever in the history of the WWE.
