Here to Show That They're the Best in The World?

Whoop whoop!
So I had an idea. What if sometime soon, Ziggler cashes in his briefcase, and wins the WHC. Dolph holds onto the title for a while. At the same time Punk either keeps the WWE title until Wrestlemania, or drops and regains it until Wrestlemania. Then at WM, both Ziggler and Punk drop their straps to a new face champion. After a few attempts to recapture their gold, Ziggler and Punk start working with each other, and form a team in the same vein as Rated-RKO. They could run rampant on RAW for awhile, maybe breathe a little life into the tag team picture, and just generally cause chaos.
Do you see this as a possibility/ would you like to see it happen?
How would you book this?
Would this be beneficial to anyone? Punk? Ziggler? The tag team division?

The tag team division is already doing better than it has in years. A breath of new life has already been given, so I don't see how this is benefitial to the tag team picture; you can only throw so many teams together. Punk works best on his own in my eyes(I personally don't see why Heyman is his manager), and the last thing Ziggler needs is someone to stand behind or next to. Besides my own personal bias, I don't really see this happening; Punk and Dolph don't really seem like they belong in a tag team, much less as partners for each other. Besides, Punk is already at the top of the food chain, and Ziggler struggles to get there. Rated-RKO worked because both men felt that they were held at the bottom of the barrel.

I could see this maybe 2 or 3 years down the road. There are alot of variables to think about with this idea

1. How established is Dolph? Just because he's going to be champion (hopefully at HIAC) doesn't mean he's guaranteed a successful reign. Does he turn face in his reign or does he stay heel? He needs a definitive heel reign with wins over established main-eventers

2. How long is Punk gonna stay heel? This won't work if either is a face. I would like to see a long heel run for both Punk and Ziggler. No need for face Punk when Cena is still and will always be the WWE's go to face. I don't see Ziggler being a face at anytime in the future even though some seem to fancy the idea.

3. Who are they working against? Rated RKO feuded with Triple H and Shawn Michaels. 2 big name stars who were "holding them back" from being champions. There is no current form of DX for Ziggler and Punk to work against at the moment. If they're working specifically for the tag titles then that is a DRASTIC step back for those 2. Unless the tag division takes off with Team Hell No and the tag tournament going on

Bottom line. I like the idea. 2 heels fed up with -insert grievance here-. Its easy heel heat and gives 2 main guys an interesting reason to be on tv. That being said, these 2 are currently not on the same level in the WWE Universe. A guy boasting about his 300+ day title reign shouldnt bother with a guy who hasn't been champion for even a whole day. If Ziggler rises up like so many are expecting, this is a good idea for the future. If he bombs (Apple stock style) then this idea would fail just as miserably

I think something similar to this was hinted at on Raw. Heyman and Vickie working together would mean an alliance between Ziggler and Punk. Ziggler would cash in his briefcase and Punk would keep his own belt. This would eventually expand in-to different division, through the mid-card and tag-teams.

Ugh, I am sick of Vivkie Guerrero.

I don't "hate" her character or her as a person, I just find myself forward winding her boring "excuse me" routine, it's old, lame and simplistic. The last thing I want is her dragging down the presense of smarmy, overbearing, arrogant, slimey Paul Heyman (who thouroughly entertains me as a villain).

I would hate to see this. Punk is arguably the number two guy in the company and this would do nothing for him. Dolph is working his way through the ranks as a singles wrestler and doesn't need to be thrown in a tag team. The tag team division is slowly being built back up. I just don't want to see it built off teams that were randomly thrown together. As someone else said when Rated RKO was together they were feuding with two of the top wrestlers in the company. Even then I never really liked it. However it wasn't them going a step back.

If this was going to work they need to be more like The Power Trip than Rated RKO. Put the focus right on the two world titles, helping each other in order to regain the titles. The common ground being they were both screwed out of their titles by the powers that be. The only time I would like to see them as tag team champions would be if the challengers were like Jericho/Benoit, Undertaker/Kane were to HHH/Austin, a way of getting them to challenge for all the gold. However is there anyone in the midcard/upper card that can form a team and look like they could challenge for the World Titles? Kane and Bryan possibly, but I don't see this team lasting.

The tag team division in WWE is already doing much better. There's a lot of good focus on the tag team division in general right now, the tag titles mean more now than they have in years as Bryan & Kane are two of the most over stars on the roster, the fans are rallying behind the tag team picture as a whole for the first time in years, the tag title tournament is being treated like it matters & is relevant. If the WWE gets behind other teams and develops them, then they can keep this momentum going in the long run.

Putting Punk & Ziggler together as a tag team is a waste of both of them at this particular stage in their careers. They're two of the top in-ring competitors in the world right now and both simply have much more to offer as singles competitors right now. Punk & Ziggler as a team might be something to see later on down the line.

Let's say that CM Punk does hold the title before dropping it at WrestleMania. That would mean that his current reign as WWE Champion would last almost a full 1.5 years, so going from that to the tag team division would be a MASSIVE step backwards for Punk. Right now, it's the same for Dolph Ziggler. The WWE has been slowly building Dolph Ziggler up for well over 2 years now and it's pretty likely that Ziggler will successfully cash in his MITB briefcase whenever it's cashed in. Going from that to the tag team scene would also be a big step backwards for Dolph Ziggler.

Apparently HHH is to thank for the tag division boost - and good for him. The division has been dead for years - which is odd as unfortunatly they showed many tag matches. If you're going to do something, do it properly or don't bother.
