Hear me out...ECW and Smackdown as one show

Hear me out on this one. What if ECW and Smackdown became one brand?

First of all they are both taped on the same night well I mean ECW is live but you get the point. Why not just make them one show? ECW is pretty much made up of guys who are either about to be fired or taken off tv soon in RVD, Sandman, Dreamer and Balls, or guys who are soon going to different shows such as Snitsky, and Lashley is pretty much a Raw guy now as half of their show is based on his feud with Mr. Mac-Man...and other than that there is just Thorne without Ariel,the ECW New Breed and CM Punk. Why not take that whats left and have them go to Smackdown as an invasion with Paul E as their leader who recruits guys like Benoit and Mysterio back to his side as heels. Imagine these two as heels I mean I honestly dont think I have EVER seen these two as heels in my life as far as I can remember! Paul E could say that he is pissed off that he lost his GM spot on Smackdown and showcase how Teddy Long is screwing up by taking his eye off the ball. Vicki Guerrero could be the wolf in sheeps clothing that ends up causing Long his spot and Paul E with Vicki could dominate making guys become ECW guys and the like.

With this they can make JBL join the roster and put Tazz back in the announcing seat with Michael Cole again.

I know it sounds a lot like the nWo thing from WCW but it could take on a life of its own and Vince could make it a whole lot better in my view

This line right here ruined it for me. The less I have to hear of Tazz's inane ramblings, and the more I get JBL on commentary, the happier I am. Tazz wouldn't be so bad if he'd shut the hell up every once in a while.

And, they already had one Invasion storyline, and it bombed pretty badly all things considered. I don't think they are going to want to do another.

There are a couple things I don't like, but for the main focal point your right. WWECW is full of people who are about to get knocked off the map anyway. However, Dreamer won't be going anywhere. Actually, Dreamer is responsible for finding some of these massive bodies. He gives them the number to call for a job, he is almost like a scout so to speak for WWE. So, he will be off camera, but I doubt he will be out of a job.

With a limited roster, it would be pretty pointless to just try to re-fill the void that is left by the Originals being taken out of WWECW. If they wanted to rekindle the old flair of ECW I would say, job failed. Move on. After this, I don't doubt a return of the XFL. But, in all regards, they just need to pull the plug on it, and let guys like CM Punk and Kevin Thorne go to Raw or Smackdown.

The Invasion angle is out played in WWE, once one of em happened, others piled up. The only twist you can put on it, would be to have ECW guys actually win it all. They actually take over Smackdown and it stays that way. But, alas, good guys must win. As for Chris Benoit never going heel, you probably never saw the Radicals then. Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero. When they first came over from WCW they were bad guys. The only one that went face from that group was Benoit, because he is an amazing athlete, and people cheer for him no matter what side he is on. But, he has gone heel before. As has Rey, if I remember correctly, it was during the L.W.O. angle in WCW, I think at one point he embraced it.

As for Tazz taking JBL's place at the announce table... no... for the love of God... no. Tazz is a horrible announcer, I have all the respect for him as a wrestler. But, I can't stand him. JBL is golden on the mic, although I believe they have asked him to severely tone it down, which sucks. But, what I would do, is instead replace Michael Cole with Joey Styles. Because Joey is quick on his thoughts, and would be able to keep up with JBL. Whereas Cole just sits there and takes it.

But all in all, I don't even see it happening... I believe that the draft is going to completely change everything... either for the better or for the good. I like this angle idea in some ways, not in most though. So, eh, who knows.

I agree with moving guys like Punk and Burke over to Smackdown or RAW but honestly WWECW just needs to die. With RVD most likely leaving after ONS and Sabu being fired, there really isn't many guys left on the roster that are used. We see the same people every week. I say just kill WWECW and send guys like Guido, Punk, Burke, Dreamer, Sandman (because I want him to stay) to Smackdown and the rest to RAW or fire them. Or hell put some on Heat. I guess this was the main jist of your post though so overall yeah I agree, but not with the invasion part.

At this point I wouldn't mind a joining of the rosters and a communal trimming of the fat. There isn't enough talent used on ECW on a regular basis out of the roster they originally built to make anything matter. That's why they keep regurgitating the same types of matchups with the same ten guys each week. As for JBL returning to the ring? Hell no. He lulled me to death with his crap title run for a ten month reign of suffering instead of Eddy sporting the belt and wrestling some creative matches while he was still around. He's better served as a commentator because King doesn't do it for $hit anymore, and King was the only legit heel announcer since Heenan or Ventura that did the job justice. JBL was and is a breath of fresh air on the mic. I love that funny redneck.

As for Taz? I loved him as a wrestler and as a legit personality on the mic and for real. But he is the worst puppet behind a mic I've ever seen. For a guy that once took direct shots in a promo at the champions of the Big Two, it's pathetic to see him acting like he enjoys doing commentary for the new ECW. Especially when he and Styles had to act like nothing was happening when the Hammerstein crowd ate Batista and Show's pathetic and hackneyed attempt at wrestling alive. As for the main concept of uniting the programs? Yes. UNLESS, they hire more workers to fill out each show. For ECW they should raid more indies and for Smackdown they could do the same. Also, a draft wouldn't hurt at present time to spread out some of the talent because it's obvious that the A players typically want to be on Raw.

Why not just make ecw a 'b-show' to smackdown like Heat is/was to Raw?

Or have ecw be a 'raw vs smackdown' show in an extreme rules enviroment (wait am i ripping off One night stand now?)Take raw's stars and put them against smackdown stars that could setup for 'major' inter-brand matches at their 'one wwe company' ppvs. Move the stars accordingly from ecw to smackdown and raw.Move lashley,the new breed ..etc to Raw so Lashley and Cena can main event like only they can (eXtreme sarcasm there),the new breed to feud with the hardys.Take C.M. punk ,properly turn him heel this time,and have him feud with Benoit in the US title scene until one of the 'powers that be' realize they both should be main eventing.

The main point I was trying to put out was that the two should just become one show. The whole invasion thing was just an example that I assure will never happen and I too would love to have JBL stay in the announcers seat.

I was sorta hoping people would add some ideas rather than say "What the hell were you smoking?!"

The point is though joining the two to showcase the good young or at least the best under used guys while throwing the so called best of the best on Raw since thats the only show they seem to plug/care about.

I agree. There is really no other feud on ECW besides punk and Burke. Lashley is always on Raw and Vince never goes to ECW with the title. It is basicly a Raw title that means nothing but a Lashley builder. Stevie Richards should become a coach for the new Tampa territory, Trinity can go to Smackdown with Guido, Striker could go to Smackdown, Punk to Smackdown, Burke to Smackdown, Cor Von to Raw, Dreamer to Smackdown or help in Tampa, Balls can wrestle without weapons just fine so Vince probably won't get rid of him so he can go to Raw or Smackdown or help in Tampa or Ohio, Thorn can go to Raw, and Snitsky can go to either one.

I say put them together too and kill the whole ECW thing. It's not ECW and nobody is thinking that it is unless they just started watching wrestling a few years ago. Smackdown is hurting a bit so why not put it together, I could see some great feuds happening if they did. But yeah Benoit has been a heel he was a horsemen at one time and he was a heel in WWE too. He used to feud with The Rock as a matter of fact and he made a kick ass heel. Rey was a heel to in WCW without the mask. He and Eddie, Konnan, Juvy, Billy Kidman they used to beat the hell out of people in the back and film it and I loved it. Rey was in the L.W.O but he wasn't a heel in it. He was just standing up for the mexican wrestlers who wasn't getting what they should have. I don't think Rey will go heel he's to kiddy lovin and they make a killing off of him like that. But man it would be great to put the shows together.
