Have you accepted Undertaker's mohawk look yet?

Creepy Old Man

Championship Contender
When the new look was unveiled at WM28 I was a little taken aback, but I've since warmed up to it. When he cut that promo on Main Event, he looked like a demon; it was pretty frightening to my inner child. Now I love the new look and like it better than the long-but-balding 2004-2011 look, and much prefer it to the lousy American Badass deal from 2000-2003. His 90's look will always be the definitive Undertaker in my eyes, but characters evolve and as far as his current look is concerned I am fully accepting.

What is your take on it?

The balding long hair look was bad but in my opinion the mohawk is worse. I'd rather he just shave his head completely but then again I'm also not a fan of the S&M gear that Taker wears to the ring.

Far be it from me to tell another man how to wear his hair. With that said I would go with a thinner mowhawk or perhaps the Damien Demento look. At this point it doesn't really matter though. All I expect out of Taker is a good match once a year.

to me, the evil ministry undertaker, from the attitude era, was the true badass look. his new mohawk thing is totally weird to me. just shave it or keep it short with a little bit of sideburns. definetely keep the goatie beard with some length to it. his beard is what has made his mohawk not stand out so much. i wouldnt even call it a real mohawk, but its better than the miz's feuxhawk.

:lol::lmao::lmao:

That sums it up nicely for me. At least when Taker had the ABA gimmick, his hair didn't look noticeably balding. Now it is apparent that he is all but bald. There are times I wondered if he is actually bald, but gets the mohawk painted on? Some people embrace the baldness and some take measures to avoid it. I'd much rather be Stone Cold bald than look ridiculous like Hogan or Taker any day of the week.

I think his mowhawk look actually makes him look a lot older then the long hair did even if it was getting very thin.the long hair actually seemed to add a certain something to the character for some reason and although im used to the mohawk look now when he shows up it still kind of feels like hes missing something sometimes.

I totally agree about Main Event. I'm not sure what it was exactly, whether it was the camera work, the way he was flexed to hold Paul E., or what, but he looked really bad ass in that shot. I've also become much more bullish on how many more Mania appearances he has in him since that promo.

I like the Mohawk, although I'll never forget how the hood got hooked on his head when he unveiled it, totally missing the sync on the thunder strike.

It suits him against Brock. I personally think
When he faces sting next year he should wear that
Mask he use to wear years ago. It looks like kanes
New one but it was grey. Give him a wig and it will add
Something extra aswell. Same goes for sting.

think his new look is more of a rugged UFC fighter like Chuck Liddel and it doesn t fit him in his gimmick but he still is the same beer bellin, mascara wearin and leather claddin boring person! LMAO@oldschool26 STING won t face underfaker to ruin his image next year he is in TNA and will go back when Dixie needs him . He won t job to that useless underfaker lol keep dreaming

I miss the long hair. With his age & bald look he looks like uncle fester. I can see it at Wrestlemania now. Brock makes his entrance, the lights go out & then all of a sudden a light bulb lights up in the ring. When the lights come back on it's the Undertaker with a light bulb in his mouth :p

First let me address the balding issue! The man is almost 50 years old,WTF do you expect him to have? Flowing Locks? Now to the question at hand, the Mohawk makes him look more scarier than ever before.. He truly looks like a Demon, someone who is very scary looking.. The undertaker Mohawk goes perfectly with his character..

I have to say that first off it was a bit of a shock but I liked it. I think it helps evolve his character. He has looked great since he came back.

I have. It never really bothered me. Now if he came out with the Taker gear while riding on a motorcycle then I would have a hard time accepting it. Hair doesn't make The Undertaker.

I think the gut is the more defining trait... He wasn't in shape properly last year and it showed... This year he has trained harder and seems leaner, so the do fits that... he had more than a King Kong Bundy vibe last year... maybe that's why Punk got angry lol.

At the end of the day he has no choice but to evolve his look, time isn't going to be kind to him with all the beatings and poor choices tattoo wise... as he ages he will start to look pretty ropey. It's interesting how Punk could take 2 months off camera and look like he'd been on a 2 year sabattical... 15 years difference isn't THAT big if you've been doing it right... guess that's the benefit of Straight Edge living...

It was a really rough start. I remember when he took on HHH sporting the look, my friend's wife was cracking up saying "It looks like his brain!" referring to how the rolls of skin on his head made his short hair look. I also remember the thousandth episode of Raw where his damn hood just wouldn't come off because his head stubble was hooked into the fabric.

The dude thankfully never lost his groove, and slowly but surely restored my faith in him. He can still put on a Hell of a performance and do so working any look that suits him. I fully accept his mohawk knowing that I never once accepted his biker gimmick. The mohawk at worst is passable, lately he's been making it aspect of his character that works.

When Taker returned back at WrestleMania XX, this Taker was sort of a combination of the supernatural and biker characters. Even his ring gear was combination of that. So when I first saw the Mohawk, I thought it also fit with the character. After all, Taker's a genuine motorcycle guy and I've seen motorcycle guys with long hair, with a Mohawk, completely bald and pretty much everything in between.

Besides, Taker's hairline had been receding for years anyhow and, who knows, maybe it'd receded between WM 27 and WM 28 to the point where Taker thought it looked kinda goofy.

I am a big Taker fan since forever and I like the mohawk look. Just the continuing evolution of the Deadman. He's older anda bit leaner this year and it fits. With the dark black ministry goatee he looks more demonic now and that's a plus. His match with Brock should be pretty good and pretty physical.

On top of that, Taker reminds me a lot of Kratos from God of War now in look and tone. Pretty cool IMO.

He didn't want to wear it. He had to after Yokozuna broke his orbital bone.

I dunno about the mohawk, but isn;t that the kind of haircut reserved for kids & 20 year olds? Its just not the kind of haircut you see with many his age in any walk of life. I think some kind of hair like he had during his booger red American badass heel run would be more fitting, along with dropping the stupid sinister deadman hes going with. Entrance attire looks bad enough let alone his dated ring attire.

More sinister than a balding guy with long hair.

And definitely more sinister than the old, old man shown in recent photos.

When I saw this image a month ago, I was honestly worried what we were going to see facing Brock Lesnar. But now, with that mohawk and some make-up, the guy looks scary and threatening once again. I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley, but I sure look forward to watching him in the ring at WM30.

Each ring appearance might be his last, but he can still do it at least one more time.

While I agree that Taker does look rather menacing with the ministry goatee and the mohawk, I still think that look doesn't suit him. When I first saw that look @ WrestleMania 28, I thought he was ripping off of Chuck Liddell. Guess he didn't wanna be confused for Austin and go bald :D

Hair aside, it helps that 'Taker looks in better shape than he has in the past 3 years. I'm with the OP, my inner child was scared. This is no small feat considering the mans age.

Admittedly, though, I actually miss the balding. In his string of Wrestlemania matches from the first with Shawn to the first (err, second) with Triple H, I had this mental image of a long, gray haired man coming to the ring. While many wrestling characters lose their luster with age, I felt with Undertaker's mystique, his age would add to the intimidation. In fact, it's almost a trope in cartoons; the old, invincible ronin of sorts, and Undertaker is as close to a cartoon character there is left in WWE.

At first I thought it looked rather weird but it grew on me. I think it makes him look badass with his goatee. A look that would scare anyone if they met him in a dark room. No matter his look though I do expect he will put on a great match. He does look leaner and more toned this year.
