Has the absence of major stars been good for the WWE?

I think that having those the 3 Raw guys, HHH, Batista and HBK, has been graet. Last year from Wrestlemania to Royal Rumble, every episode felt the same and like Blush said, it was like cruise control and I would only watch out of habit. I would miss the odd episodes and not really get that into the storylines.

Since those three haven't been involved, mostly when Batista left, I started to watch Raw on a weekly basis and actually anticipate each episode. Having the nexus, Sheamus, The Miz and Evan Bourne in the Main Event and higher mid-card scene has brought new life to Raw, and is making the program better. It is also testing these future superstars to see what Raw will be like with these guys Main Eventing.

HHH was putting over Sheamus already, and I don't think that Batista would of had a problem working with Evan Bourne to get him over.

Now I see what your getting at with HHH putting over Sheamus, but I have no idea why you think Batista would put over Bourne. I can't name a single superstar that Batista has put over in the past, and I doubt he would have put over the smallest superstar on the roster. i think Batista would of had a huge problem and probably would have complained to WWE managment for having him work with a younger talent. I can say without a doubt that if these guys weren't out of the WWE for the time being, Bourne wouldn't have reached we he is now for another 3 years, or even ever as he was close to a future endevor when he was jobbing.

So I say that these suoperstars being out has been a great thing for the WWE. It has brought in new talent for the future, has shown us the future of the WWE and has created an overall better product with better storylines.

It's about time old stars take a back seat to knew talent? What do you think Shawn Michaels did for the past 8 years? He was basically just with the company to SOLELY put younger guys over. It wasn't his fault if they failed or couldn't hang on to it for long. He did was he was supposed to do. Undertaker does similar things. Triple H, at times. To say that they had to LEAVE in order for these younger guys to come up is just wrong.

How has the product been getting better though? Less personality and more high flying circus acts? I mean I'm all for a good move or two but if the guy lacks personality...I can't continue to watch. And almost everybody in the WWE right now lacks personality (sans The Miz).

Look at John Morrison for example - he's got the look, the moves, but he still puts people to sleep because he has literally zero personality. Evan Bourne would be in there too but he has that "little guy taking on the world" thing going for him. But his personality still stinks.

Sorry just not reading this but the more i think about it your absolutely right. The fact that the youngest superstar in terms of careers has more personalitiy in terms of Wade Barrett that people havent had their whole careers is ridculous. I mean really morrisons new move is fukking terrible if he hit that on me id litterally stand right up and laugh at him. Who said that this was a good move for him to use as a finisher thats more like a set up to a finisher. Like how RVD used to do rolling thunder, starship pain is the equivilant to that. But I do agree about certain stars putting over younger guys. I mean look at what undertaker did for edge, orton and countless others. Shawn did it at the end of his career too, which took away that whole selfish persona he had built up during the years. Hell the only reason he was tag champs in DX is because vince and HHH wanted them to get it before he retired. Look at what he did for cena, and even what he did for jerhico. I mean their matches are always amazing. But I dont think HHH needs another title. Do you? I mean hes pretty much captured every title in WWE/F history. He should be able to just put guys over now. Even if hes a Heel. However the storylines since these guys got hurt or left have been better though. Let's be real whens the last time the E has been this entertaining. I mean I almost lost hope. It became stupid I mean some of those guest hosts were terrible and then the rest of the show was bland. IDK maybe with these guys gone creative has more options to explore other details. And Im sorry to say but looks like Cena is in control of the NEXUS.....DAMN SHAME

Okay so the two biggest players in the game (no pun intended) The Undertaker and HHH have both been out with injuries at the same time and apparently HHH has got another injury while being off injured! :banghead:

If someone had said to me a year or two ago that this would happen, I would be horrified and worried that WWE would become worse than TNA! :p

But IMO WWE in the past months is doing better than it has in years!Creative are working a treat, with great storylines on both Raw and Smackdown (I don't watch the other shows), KANE is WHC!!!!! and they are even doing a good job of building up guys that would normally be left on the sidelines (Swagger, Bourne, Miz ect.)

So I know this is a long old question but...Is the WWE better off without its Legends, has the time come for them to hang up their boots???

Discuss....
