GOP Debate

I'm actually in downtown Cleveland right now. The activities on the streets are pretty entertaining. Numerous pro and opposing activists groups causing a stir.

A Republican is talking about someone taking advantage of the ill-informed.

Everybody, all together now,

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I will never understand this mentality of the government creating jobs being a bad thing. If someone is poor, they're going to be taking money from the government anyway. If they have a government job, yeah they're still taking money, but the government is getting something in return.

Save for maybe Hilary but then again that, like every other time, seems more like an imagination than a real outcome.

This time it's probably going to be the reality. None of the GOP candidates, save for maybe Bush, has a real chance in a national election.

Notice there's no comment about Bush and company taking money to fund the wars. It's totally ok to use Social Security money to fund those, but to fund healthcare? SOCIALIST EVIL!!!

As usual, the debate turns into the discussions of a billionaire's business deal instead of what common people could do so Trump can brag about his success.

As a small business owner/entrepreneur I'd prefer a structure that allows myself and like minded individuals to grow employment opportunities. I'm more intrigued by people working with/for people than big government. Right now regulations make that difficult.

I actually believe Bush will win. Especially here in Texas he would win majority of the votes mainly due to his namesake alone.

I agree in theory, but some of those regulations help protect common people from companies taking advantages of them.

He's definitely the most sane and electable of the GOP candidates, but given that how his brother did, I'm terrified. Now if he's more like his dad, I'd be a bit more confident.

There are number of regulations and watch groups protecting employee rights. Not saying it never happens but it is difficult to get over on employees.

It is, but I'd be weary of removing a lot of the regulations. I'd trust the government a lot more than I'd trust big businesses with boards of directors to answer to.

I came into this debate largely undecided on Jeb Bush. Thus far tonight he has done very little to sway my favor. Just not impressed.

That's why Trump is so far ahead of everyone else: none of the other candidates stand out. Their policies are about 90% identical and they're mainly middle aged/senior citizen white guys. What exactly is different between Kasich, Bush, Huckabee and Walker for example?

My issue is I would like to grow my ventures into big business. Open opportunities for the communities they are involved in. Certain aspects of todays structure make it nearly impossible to achieve that "American Dream."

Of course we can't have exceptions for rape or incest for the sake of the baby, because Heaven forbid we ever think of the woman who already went through something like that.

This is unfortunately true and there isn't much of a way around it.

The main one being that Job comes from a line former presidents. Which means he knows a good deal of what and not to do if in power. Then again he could have learned more from his brother than from his dad.

Indeed. Papa Bush wasn't half bad but he was just kind of there. His son ruined the entire family.

Just listening to Jeb speaking here, he at least sounds intelligent. That puts him miles ahead of his brother.
