Can Kane bounce back?

  • I still have hope....

  • I've lost all hope!

I feel if he had some time off and came back in a big storyline as a monster once again... maybe have somebody burn his face so he leaves for a while and returns with the mask which is what many people have been asking for, for quite some time now. When he returns masked he can go back to his completely dominant monster ways, have him just destroy people left and right... don't put him in the title picture right away, let him destroy most of the roster, including some main eventers. After about 6 months of him terrorizing everyone give him a title shot and let the big red machine win the belt and hold it until a new face can eventually rise and defeat him, after that defeat I think it would basically be it for Kane, he won't be good anymore after that, and will be sent back to doing what he does now

Ive got to agree with HardCoor, in order for Kane to get back on top or close to the top he will have to be put into a major storyline and probably be layed off TV for a while with lots of hype surronding his return. The chances of this happening are slim however I still have a small glimer of hope for Kane as over the past 12 years its been a very good gimmick and he has put on some good matches and good feuds.

I don't think there's too much hope for another top-of-the-card run for old I. Yakem, DDS.

Glenn has always been only moderately talented both in the ring and on the mic. His size and his character's fortunate introduction as Undertaker's brother helped him become far more successful than his talents warranted.

At this point, I really doubt he's looking for anything huge to happen with his career. I think he'll stick around long enough to make enough money for a comfortable retirement and then fade into obscurity (one positive thing I know about him is that he's managed his money well).

That's actually a really good idea, he did work better with the mask. The vengeance angle definitely works, though I think 6 months might be a bit long considering big PPV's are 3-4 months apart, so I think between big PPV's is when you can run the angle like from wrestlemania to summerslam

Hopefully there is still time for him to be on top again, agree with the Mask Stuff, but even like that hopefully he gets something to gets like really psycho and extreme as a monster and for one last run. As time comes close he comes close to retire too so why not sending him as the big red monster only to be stopped at the end by the greates face at the tiem whoever it is (please, no Cena or HHH).

This has already been done a bajillion times, and has amounted to fuck all. I pretty much gave up all hope when the mask was removed. I think it was such a bullshitty move, especially when it turned out that Kane was never really a scarred up monster that he was always portrayed as being.

The one time I've actually gotten really excited about Kane, since his mask was removed, was during his feud with Rey, when he cut a promo wearing his old school mask. That was fantastic.

If there could be a storyline where he could actually get "burned" and forced to put back on his mask (a la Taker becoming Deadman again), I would personally get behind the character, so long as he didn't talk anymore either.

want him to bring the voice thing back too haha. im all about the mask with Kane though. he doesnt really present anything as some regular gigantic guy. he looks hilarious and is just a brute with no personality, he works so much better as the monster. he needs that mask back, i miss the Kane of when he debuted. he was such a menacing character, he also furthered the Undertaker's popularity and face run which by then seemed to become permanent

Yeah, unless he finds a way to start using his mask again and make everyone mark out, I highly doubt that Kane will ever have a main event push. His best opportunity to become a world champion again was during his feud with HHH when he was the Intercontinental Champion. The whole Katie Vick thing would have been worth it if Kane would have won the title.

Whilst we are on the topic of kane, where is he? He wasn't on the last smackdown taping and I've not seen him since the fatal 4 way match.

the whole thing of having his face burned is a good a idea, but it ain't gon' happen. this is the PG WWE after all.. maybe if he was in TNA they would go a head with it.. oh wait, they have abyss to steal kane's thunder.

whenever i see kane in a match these day i pray he gets the win! the fact he went over on cm punk at backlash was like totally woah =/

I'm sorry but Kane sucks. He seems like a really, really cool dude in real life and I definitely respect the type of attitude he has for the business, but the guy is boring beyond hell and the fact is... there is nothing left for him to do. Who on the roster hasn't he had matches with? Is there anyone left? And how many heel and babyface turns does a wrestler get before it's time to say, "Dude, enough is enough, hang it up or show up next week with a completely different character"?

When Kane first debuted and the couple of years that followed... yeah, he was entertaining. And he could have some pretty decent matches. But that was long, long, long ago. Today... the guy sucks. I doubt he has any passion for what he's doing anymore because I'm sure even he knows that there's nothing to get excited about when it comes to his character. We've seen it all already.

But hey... if WWE is willing to give him those large paychecks, and pushes after pushes... then more power to Kane. However, it cannot be denied that the guy hasn't done anything worth noting in about five years, and that's pretty pathetic.

kane is gone. i lost all interest after the kane/lita/snitsky & the kane/lita/edge storylines finished. he just got boring and had no sense of storyline direction. sorry but i think he is gonnnneeee!!!!

He's been gone for about 7 years now. I've never been a Kane fan. I always thought he was just another monster who's gimmick would have been amazing...had he debuted with it like in the early 90's. Fans are too smart now and don't want to see a "monster" running around with the title, mask, and cutting no promos. I mean, when MY most memorable moment of Kane was last year and he's backstage and cuts off JBL in the middle of a promo/interview and JBL mentioned he has a clothesline from hell for him, and Kane replies "I've been to hell and I didn't see your clothesline anywhere." that isn't saying much. A man that's been in the business for a long time, and my most memorable moment is a line of hilarious dialogue that could have come straight from The Office? Kane's been gone. I don't understand (not being ignorant) why people hang on to Kane so much and think he's been poorly booked. We know he's been poorly booked, but he's just another 300 lb. really tall guy with agility slightly better than Big Show. Ok, it's not THAT bad, but you get my drift. He's not Vince's idea of a champion. Even when Kane was aligned with Vince, he had the title 24 hours. Kane was interesting when he debuted and as soon as he became a face STILL WEARING THE MASK, he was dead to me. Go back and watch some of the first Kane matches and look at the shape he's in. The dude's arms were jakked to the max. He was in amazing shape. Now, he's kinda JBL-ish in a way. He doesn't have the agility he had when he debuted (which is what 12 years or so will do to a person). Look... Kane's gone, has been gone, and will never be back the way that many people still hope he can return to one more time.

There's no hope for him and there hasn't been for a long time. When Kane first debuted he was great, but as soon as they start making him talk and he went to the half-mask thing to make him more human, that is when the luster started to wear off. After his mask was taken off, Kane was awesome and I wish he would have dominated Shane more than he did. They put on some decent gimmick matches together and meshed really well. I believe Kane will be one of the most forgettable big-name superstars in history. Outside of his feuds with Undertaker at WM 14 and his debut at Hell In a Cell, I can't name any memorable Kane matches or big moments.

What I don't understand is that people think he needs hope?
The man is 42 years old, with nagging injuries and a stomach that gets bigger every week. I love the guy, but let it go! His time has come and gone and now he's putting people over.

Despite the general consensus, he's had a very successful career in the biggest promotion on the planet. He's won 15 championships in his time, including the WWF championship even if it was only for a day. But god dammit, he beat Steve Austin for the title at a time when Austin was the hottest superstar in the world. That in itself is an achievement.
Aside from that victory, he's a gazillion time tag champion, ECW champion, 2 time IC champion and a hardcore champion. The 8th Grand slam champion.

Shoud he have been used better? Yes. His WWF title reign should have at least lasted until the next PPV. And he deserved a world title reign when he returned in Summer of 2003 and was arguably the most over face in WWE at the time, but he was also feuding with Triple H. Feuding with Triple H in 2003 did not benefit anyone other than Triple H.
And his time as the unstoppable monster could have made him into a money making star. But alas, even at his prime he felt like he was old and should've been putting people over.
Hell, there's rumours that Kane was supposed to go over Undertaker at Wrestlemania but said no out of respect. That is Jacob's curse and his most admirable strength, that he was always willing to put people over. The business always came before him. And for that he deserves the respect of all wrestling fans and maybe even a place in the HOF.

I love how the commentators no matter what show Kane is on, they always seem to make him out as a monster.. When as previously mentioned he's nothing but a normal big guy. I doubt Kane will get his mask back now, and it's probably because it's such an easy thing to guess, but maybe it's only easy to guess because it's what everyone wants?

If Kane doesn't get his mask back within the next year.. All hope is gone. As much as I don't really want to say it.

EDIT: I do have the uttermost respect for Kane as he's done a lot for the WWE, but personally I don't see the monster coming back. With the PG era upon us, Kane wouldn't even be able to look like the monster he used to be.

Every week Kane comes out and gets beat......
Every week Kane's belly gets bigger and bigger.....

But I don't understand how Jericho can do it and Kane cannot....
I'm starting A new Kane thread....

Kane has been jobbing for too long. I think WWE should start giving him jobbers and then maybe that will give him some much needed credibility. Put him in a fued with a main eventer, such as Edge, Chris Jericho, or even Jeff Hardy. But the only difference would be... ACTUALLY LET THE MAN WIN! With wins against people like them, then we could start to see shades of the Kane we all knew and loved. Put him in the World Heavyweight Championship fued, whether he wins it or not... let WWE figure that out.

On a side note, in the summer of 2007, right before Edge got his pectoral injury, wasn't he supposed to fued with Kane? With Theodore Long back as the Smackdown GM, he could easily re-ignite that fued. The options are endless with Kane, but blame WWE for not being able to think outside the box.

Ever since Kane started talking, I was wary, but the mask kept his allure and ferocity. Then when he finally took off his mask, I couldn't take him seriously for some time. When he finally Tombstoned Linda Mac, I thought that maybe there was a chance. His monster heel run in 03-04 was awesome, Kane was a man who people feared and loathed. Then he 'married' Lita and its been shit ever since. No hope.
