Getting Noticed By Management
This is a simple thread as I am trying to figure this out. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of Kane, and I think that he should've been World Champion for more than 1 day. Hell if Great Khali can have the strap for longer, why not?

But Money in the Bank is a match that is suppose to give someone a shot at the titles. Kane has had many chances to reclaim championship gold and has come up short time and time again. He doesn't deserve to be in the match.

So is this so Glen Jacobs can collect the WM payday?
Is this a 'thank you for your service' spot?
Is he there to anchor the ladder for the high flyers (ala Mark Henry 2k9)?

I hope because of this, Drew McIntyre (sp?) will defend the Intercontnental Title at WM, but that doesn't happen that much anymore.

Kane is in the match for the same reason Shelton Benjamin is the match. They have been in most, if not ever single Money in The Bank match for the simple fact of the spots they are a part of. Without Shelton there would be little to no OMG moments in the match. Kane is usually taking part in the spots also. Also Kane is the " big man " in the match. The one that makes it that much harder for everyone else.

Kane is a regular in the match, don't expect him to win. He never has and he won't this late in his career. Also to your note of Drew McIntyre, I would like to see him defend the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania too.

Its a good way to get Kane on the card without devoting a major storyline to him. Money In The Bank doesn't need a build up. We all know it will be a top 2 match on the card.

I am also a Kane fan but i guess that when Kane was the Champion they didnt had any good contender for him, Or any good storyline for him at the moment. Thats why they too the strap of his waist. Great khali had a great feud with each of this stars Bastita, HHH and John Cena. Also TGK was a new comer, And a fresh face in the WWE.

The Money in the Bank Gives a Title shot to any of the 7 wrestles who gets up the ladder and get the Briefcase, Hey Kane was close to capture the breifcase last year this could be his year.

Kane does deserve to be in the MITB, They need a big guy to be in the MITB, In you option which one of the big stocky wrestlers deserve to be in the MITB?

Kane will collect his paycheck if he wrestler or not. So what if Kane is in the MITB, Are you pissed just because Drew is not in the MITB.

Is he there to anchor the ladder for the high flyers (ala Mark Henry 2k9)?

No he is not he is going to do what he did last year, He is not there to Anchor the ladder he is there to try to get a future title shot.

Well i really dont know if he will even get a spot and the WrestleMaina card, As of right now he is not in a feud with nobody, And i dont think that he will be. Because as of right now Edge,Cena,Y2J,HBK,Batista and the Taker are getting all the Attetion. Like i said he might not be in the WM card.

There's no way in hell Kane will win this match. He's there because he's one of the regulars for this match, and has been ever since Wrestlemania 21. Kane is there so he can be used as a threat to the other participants in this match, but he will not win the match...no way. McIntyre didn't really need to win this match for momentum because he already has plenty of that.

It would be cool to see Kane win this match and win a world title. He most likely wouldn't hold on to the belt for a long time, but it would be nice to see the Big Red Machine hold championship gold again, but Kane is too old to win this match. One of the younger wrestlers will grab the briefcase.

Kane is someone that's had a consistent and stable presence in the WWE's mid-card for over a decade now. The odds of him winning this match are practically nill but Kane is always useful when it comes to helping to elevate other talent. For instance, his loss to Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber did boost McIntyre's stock as IC champ. Because of that, McIntyre didn't really need to be in MITB. I actually hope this means that the IC title will be defended at WM. If it does, it would be the first time in, what, about 6 or 7 years that's happened?

Kane has also been in a lot of these matches and he's still over with fans. People still follow him and care about what he's doing and that's never a bad thing no matter what.

Kane is a person who does not care what his spot is he is just happy to be in the WWE and actually likes furthering people.
I like Kane in the MITB he is always that last guy you have to knock down to get the briefcase.

I love Kane in Money in the bank, in fact Kane is sick in general.

The man should be doing way more than he's doing now, but why not put him in the match? He always does great, especially in the first-ever MITB ladder match.

Like others have said, he provides unique spots, and he also puts other talent over while being in the match. Besides, what else is there for Kane to do? I wouldn't want to see an Intercontinental title match between him and McIntyre at Wrestlemania, because to tell you the truth, their match at EC wasn't that spectacular...

Kane is only in the match as he is always a threat to winning and adds a bit more star power to the match. It seems a bit bigger if you win the match with a monster in it. Plus it is a good way to get Kane into a match with fucking up with anyone elses. Kane won't win it but he will put on a impressive show like Kane always does in the match.

Plus Drew didn't need this match. He is already Intercontinental champion and should defend his title on the biggest stage of them all. It deserves to get a proper match unlike last year with that joke of a match with Rey.

Simple, you need the big guy to catch all of the spot monkeys that are going to be flying around the ring from every direction. You have to make the assumption that Miz and Big Show are going to be invovled in the Tag match, so there goes the Big Show. Mark Henry fit the role last year, but I'm willing to bet he and MVP will be a part of the tag title match in some capacity.

Look down the roster, who are you going to use, Khali? I doubt Khali can support his own weight let alone catchign other people. It gets Kane on the card, and it's a reliable big guy that's going to make sure that the spot monkeys don't land on their heads.

Because there's nothing else for Kane to do. He's a fairly big name that'll attract some fans, so it's best not to keep him off the card entirely. A singles match would be rather pointless/bad. Just stick him in the MITB. Since he's a "monster" and all that, he's always a threat to win, or so they say. You need 8 guys to fill it up, so why not put Kane in there?

The Money In The Bank needs a big man to help catch the participants as the fly around the ring. I was wishing for no former WWE or World Champions in the match, but Kane as a one day champ is kinda the same. I also thought Mike Noxx would be good for the "monster" of the match. Kane being the more experienced is probably the better fit tho.

I hope that McIntyre defends the I.C. belt at Mania. I have a feeling we will, as we still got a month to build up for the event. Sadly with The Miz holding both the U.S Title and The Unified Tag Team Championship belts we'll most likely only see one defended, but this is not Night Of Champions. I hope the tag belts get on the card.

Kane's in the MITB match because he's a big guy and can be used for some good spots in it like he was last year. It's also a way to get Kane onto the Wrestlemania card. He probably won't win the match, at this point in his career there's no reason to give him a MITB case to cash in. That's more for building up a potential new main eventer, if you ask me. Kane being in this match also isn't a "thank you for your service" thing either, Kane's going to be there to make others look good in the match instead. It does free McIntyre up for an IC title match at Wrestlemania, like the threadstarter suggested.

I actually hope this means that the IC title will be defended at WM. If it does, it would be the first time in, what, about 6 or 7 years that's happened?

More like the first time in 12 months.... it was defended last year, although the match was shorter than JBL's promo right before it. Don't feel bad though, I forgot at first too and had to think about it.... and I was THERE.... lol.... If you forgot, the length of the match might be why. They should have the title be defended in an actual match this year, last year's seemed more like a segment than a match. Drew should retain the title if they do a an IC title match because it will further solidify his status as a dominant champion.

Why?

Because what else does he have to do :P.
Wrestlemania is the biggest event of the year, and therefore you want big name superstars on the card, and regardless of Kane's title sucess in the past he is still a HUGE draw!

Also he adds the strength and 'scary' factor to the match, I mean what would be more scary for you, Santino Marella hitting you with a ladder or Kane ;).

Why is kane there? To make the match more competitive. To draw more fans into the match. To see a 300lb guy falling from a ladder. To trick kane fans into thinking, maybe this year kane will win mitb and be world champ again, this time for at least 3 PPVs

Because he's reliable, he's the glue that holds the spot monkeys together and he adds variety. I remember a ladder fatal four way tag match with Londrick, The Hardys, MNM and Regal and Taylor, what were Regal and Taylor doing there I thought? Then I saw them suplexing people onto ladders and realised that there is so much more to this shit than flying through the air.

Kane wont be flying through the air, he'll be looking after the idiots that are, he'll be chokeslamming people onto ladders. Like I said, variety. Besides, he still has a huge following and like everyother time Kane enters a situation where a World Title may be involved all his fans turn out in droves thinking "maybe, maybe this time".

kane gives the money in the bank match that little bit of star quality will he win not likely but you do need a big guy in there to mix it up a little just be thankful that koolaid man himself aka mark henry isnt in this match...

I'm sorry, could someone point me to where it says that the MITB match is for up and comers? People that have been in it before include Booker T, Ric Flair, Finlay, Benoit, Kane, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho which is hardly the NXT roster, is it? 5 of them were former world champions, as were CM Punk, Edge and Randy Orton when they wrestled in it. MITB is for upper midcarders, which is what Kane is, which is why he's in it. I would imagine they're going to do something with the IC title, which is why he beat who he did to get in.

Kane is in the MITB match to add that different element. There is always that big guy in the match that sticks out and has a nice run and taking everyone out of the match. I have no problems with Kane being in the match and the guy deserves to be on the card, as he has been a stable of the mid card for over a decade and he is reliable and careful enough in the ring to allow the high flyers to do their business. Kane has nothing else to do at Mania and I'd rather him in this match than him thrown into some random match that serves no purpose to him.

I think are actually a lot of questions in regards to what superstars are doing at Mania. Why are R-Truth and Morrison going after the tag belts?? It's just stupid. Why are Orton, Rhodes, and Ted doing every single kind of match that could be saved for Mania BEFORE Mania? And yes, Why is Kane in the MITB?

I think Kane is in the MITB match for a lot reason already stated. They owe it to him. It's a big payday. They have nothing else for him to do. The MITB match needs a big man. Those are all great reasons. But that doesn't really answer WHY I would want to see him in this match, knowing damn well he has no chance of winning.

Unfortunately, Kane has been going downhill since his loss to Taker at Mania 14 (sorry, but it's true). I don't think his wrestling ability has fallen as quickly as his career has, but that's just what happens. I guess I don't have a problem with him being in the match, I just don't see why it would excite me. He is a veteran guy, and deserves the payday. That is the only reason I am happy to see Kane in the MITB match, honestly.

This is always a great match for Kane, he is the only big man I trust in ladder matches, always looking like a legitimate threat in matches to put punishment on someone, but never win the match. With 8 men in a match, there is no problem putting Kane in as a jobber to the winner.

Simply, Kane is in the match because he's a good worker and the office has nothing else for him to do. Kane, as great as he is and for how much I respect him, has a difficult time getting in a program with anybody and creating any interest. He's a good workhorse, but doesn't seem to be much more.
