Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

If you can't remember The Raid then you can git out.

(Please tell me you've seen The Raid?)

It's not really as good as everyone wants to make it out to be, personally I preferred Dredd, & Expendables 2 more.

I have not seen it, but I've heard good things... from you. To be honest I haven't heard anyone talk about it besides you, Dowds.

The ending is a massive let down, & the rest of the movie is just over the top choreographed fight scenes, which fun for awhile, but then you kinda want something more out of it, like a reason to care about any of the characters & more story than what they give you. It was alright, but not as good as people would have you beleive.

I can't tell if I want to see Life of Pi or not. It looks beautiful and I can see it being fairly engrossing... but a movie about a dude trapped in a boat with a tiger? That sounds tedious.

Well, with about an hour to digest what I saw, I've come to the conclusion that I enjoyed it..although I'm just not sure everyone will get it. It has a deeper meaning, everything had symbolism, and the symbolism was in a religious aspect. But, the actual action of the movie was still very enjoyable and although roughly half of the movie was centered around the boy and the tiger being stranded at sea, it was broken up with flashbacks and narration and various other obstacles that Pi faces. Not to mention, it really was eye candy throughout. It's worth a viewing if anything for a solid 3D experience, although everyone will take its message differently.

Have you ever seen The Fountain? If so, how would you compare that to Life of Pi?

Wow, you actually beat a game Justin? Congratulations! I guess there's a first time for everything.

Hey now, I've finished a good hand full of games since getting my PS3, I burned through the entire Uncharted series in no time, as well as Arkham Asylum, & Killzone 2. It's not my fault I don't have shit to do, & can't devote every waking second to video games.

Been going in and out of the wrestling forums, trying to post some solid stuff. It's been a lot of fun to watch all the shows, and actually write some stuff out on them.

You mean... the shows now? Are you a sadist or something? Though admittedly, NXT kicks ass.

I admit the wwe is at a low point, but at least I watch it. I did get a good laugh from hgr. Or whatever his tag is here on the forum, saying he writes for the main page, but basically skims the show. When I can sit through the show, I enjoy the tag division, and I'm kind of hoping for something to happen with the us title here.

Tna has been alright of late as well, jeff hardy on the other hand, can still fuck off...

And I've not seen any of the new NXT, but the roster seems rather impressive, and with the right build we might have a great new influx of talent.

Hey, all you lovable weirdos that like the Ponies, their new comic is out today. I'm guessing you all probably knew that already though.

Hm, that just reminded me that I haven't seen Harthan around these parts lately. I know he's still alive because I talked to him on Facebook the other day, but where the fuck is that dude at?

It's in the same area as Warrior King/Ong Bak. Not one of these films has a great story but the story isn't what the films are about. Rather, they are basic plots to which fighting can be inserted, with the fighting being the main purpose.

Ong Bak's plot was about a guy trying to reclaim a Buddha statue's head but all the promotion was about the choreography and style of the action/fighting. Same thing with The Raid.

I've entered full blown senioritis. I had a paper due at 12:00 about reading. Yeah, it's a paper that answers the question, "What does it mean to be a reader?" I wrote like, half of a rough draft then decided to take a break... for two or three hours. I'm pretty sure the teacher doesn't care if you submit it a few hours late, but the point remains that I am not enjoying this assignment and I don't care who knows it!

Except my professor. Don't tell her.

I suck at Multiplayer Black Ops 2, though to be fair I've only owed the game for roughly 3 hrs. & have been playing it for less than 2 hrs., most of that dedicated the the annoying campaign. Also its pretty much the first time I've ever really spent more than 10 mins playing any COD game ever.

Anybody else here with a PS3 that want to riddle my virtual body with virtual bullets let me know.

I used to tell my teachers that l hated the assignments they gave me all the time. I still do it now. Actually did it today, although the situation is slightly different in that I am now marking for them...

All the papers for this class have a reflective aspect to them, and for the first one I really let the teacher have it. The paper was about literacy and we were supposed to discuss what literacy really is, and I thought that it was a stupid exercise in academia for the sake of academia, and that anyone off of a university campus doesn't care or need to do a deep inspection of what literacy is.

For my money, that kind of reflective question is actually more likely to be detrimental to your essay writing and research abilities than to actually help them. At least when it comes to academics anyway. It encourages the writer to "waffle;" padding their word count by using 25 words when 10 would do or going off on a barely relevant tangent.

It also stinks of a question that could be competently answered in about 50 words rather than a 5-page report.

That pretty much sums up the entire course: questions that don't need to be asked but are, and can be answered in 100 words or less, but aren't.
