So after 130 hours of Skyrim, I finally found out about the existence of Blackreach.

What a visually stunning place.

Ha, no kidding. It's pretty massive too. And there is a dragon down there.

Not really all that surprising as I have not had much interaction with Dwarven settlements.

Some pretty spectacular underground caverns, especially Mzinchaleft. Took Volendrung out on that little expedition. It is no more powerful than the likes of Wuuthrad really but that enchantment of stealing stamina does make dealing out damage much more continued. The poor Falmer did not know what hit them.

Yes, I only got my PS3 a year ago, & had a shit load of other games to play first like the Uncharted series, Arkham Asylum, KZ2, & others, I also tend to wait & by games once they drop dramatically in price, by the time I'm done with ME2 ME 3 should be like $20 hopefully, that or I'll just ask for it for X-mas, it's getting close to that time of year afterall

It sounds like you haven't played ME1?

Legion and Wrex are my two favorites, and they're definitely in a league of their own. After that Garrus, Mordin, Thane, and Grunt are in my second tier of favorites, and Tali is knocking on the door as well.

Really, all the characters are pretty awesome.

Yes, I agree. ALL of the characters are awesome, a truly great thing about Mass Effect. My first tier of favourites are pretty different to yours, being: Mordin, Jack and Liara. Second tier then being: Garrus, Grunt, Tali, Aria T'Loak and Joker.

'Tis just that, I'm quite surpised it took you that long to find it.

Wait, a dragon? I never found a dragon!

Why does no one like Thane?

I liked Mordin to the extent you can like a guy who basically committed mass genocide, put him in your party with Grunt for instant hilarity.

I love Aria and Liara too. Liara can kind of wear on my nerves though, especially in the first game. I also forgot how awesome Jack is, especially when she appears in the third game.

You know that little cluster of buildings in Blackreach with a giant glowing orb above it? If you use Unrelenting Force on it, it releases a dragon.

Is it possible that reaching Blackreach is level dependent?

No, you're just taking forever to do the main quest.

Why does no one like Thane?

Thane's awesome, he's in my second tier (I think I forget to put him, but he's in there). He doesn't have the depth/hilarity that Legion or Wrex have, though.

Hey, EVERY Mass Effect character is great. Thane's just not a particular favourite of mine.

I liked Mordin to the extent you can like a guy who basically committed mass genocide, put him in your party with Grunt for instant hilarity.

Mordin is fucking great, he's always right. His justification of the Genophage is perfectly adequate. At the time, under those circumstances, 'twas the right thing to do.

I romanced that bitch.

That's why I like Thane, he doesn't have to be funny to be interesting. A super religious assassin with a terminal illness.

Wrex though....fucking badass which leads to hilarity.

I don't agree with that, but I understand why from a Salarian and Turian standpoint it seems like the only reasonable option I'm of the, "you made your bed, now you have to lie in it," point of view. Then again, I suppose things worked out for the best as the Krogan are now thriving and are lead by a guy that wants peace.

At the time, yeah it seemed the right thing to do. After you fight two or three enraged Krogen in a row, you have a hard time blaming him. He seems to show some remorse over it though, which is an interesting dynamic to me.

Same. Blue alien mind sex=awesome.

None of the characters really have to be funny to be interesting, it just so happens that some of the most interesting characters are also very funny, especially Wrex. Legion is just the most philosophically fascinating character in the game.

I agree that Liara was quite boring in the first game, but her turn to the dark side in Mass Effect 2 is fucking brilliant. Every character greatly improves in ME2. Goes from being a boring old Prothean archaeologist to a cold, calculating information broker. It was nice to see Jack turn normal somewhat in the third game, after what Cerberus did to her. Her and Miranda's rivalry is just pure class from BioWare.

Really? Sneaky, Bethesda. I like it. Might just jump on Skyrim and fuck up that dragon, it shan't hide from me any longer.

Mass Effect 1 was never made available for PS3 because Microsoft made, EA made ME2 & 3 so they were made available for both 360 & PS3, if it were available for PS3 I would have started with ME1.

That must be disappointing, Mass Effect 1 was awesome. It has vastly inferior gameplay to 2 & 3, but was still awesome. The mission on Virmire is one of the best missions in the trilogy.
