i was wondered what ever ones view was on ecw so far and if they think it has been a success so far?

i myself think no because it just seems to be another brand and has nothing really ecw about it

I mean a guy like lashley is beening pushed and theres not one extreme thing about him.

They need to cut there loses asap

Stop the ECW Brand as it is NOT ECW anymore and take the Talent and add them to Smackdown and RAW and release the ones who are not needed.

i'm not a huge ECW fan because of the lack of talent they have... I'm also not an ECW fan because the real ECW died back in PA in a bingo hall... we'll NEVER have anything like that again.. proof? ECW doesn't need to have a press conference for their PPVs... they just open a building up to fans and have the damn PPV... ECW has been dead... they need to stop trying to rebuild the fallen... they need to just stop while they still have fans who don't think it sucks and send them all to Smackdown... I doubt there's a single person in ECW deserving to be on RAW... RVD lost my vote with the drug charge... Paul Haymen needs to find ONE good hardcore wrestler and focus on him... build him as a non-pull shoot fighter and run with it... Test would be my vote, if anyone... CM Punk would make a bad ass US Intercontental or X Division champ... either use him or dump him...

i think it has potential to be a decent 1 hour third brand, but just not under the ecw name. i dont mind having one night stand each year, because that has been huge successes, but to have a whole ecw brand is ridiculous. they tried to have angle come in and show its not all hardcore but no one really bought. now especially that hes gone they should change it into just a third brand. they could call it lightning? jk

Pretty good idea as some of my m8s have fought ecw is nothing to do with wwe. i mean u got wwe raw and wwe smackdown and then you got ecw.
does sound like its a completely different organisation

There's no "E" in ECW anymore. They should have left well enough alone. I would say they should have kept the One Night Stand but even that was not THAT great last year. Their new slogan should be: "ECW. Because there's nothing else on Tuesday nights!"

I say get rid of the ECW name and split the roster between Raw and SD!, maybe send some of them to OVW and then release the rest, then do something good with the time slot like an hour long OVW show, or create a new show like a highlight show w/ OVW and DSW matches

I actually think that ECW has the best wreslting out the 3 shows right now, second being Smackdown and third being Raw. I don't mind having it under ECW, but we all know it's never going to be like before because of the WWE's limitations.

The current ECW is a joke and is nothing more than Tuesday night table scraps from the "A" and "B" show rosters of the WWE. The whole concept of the real ECW was providing wrestling that pleased legit wrestling fans that were in the joke and weren't marks. Instead they milked a once-respectable brand name to cash in on a nostalgia they have zero f***ing clue how to recapture. The wrong people run it, the wrong wrestlers are in it, and the direction since day one has been a nosedive into the goddamn pavement. The wrestling isn't a fraction of the quality the little-engine-that-could from PA once put out.

First of all, It still is a respectable brand. It argueably has the best wrestling out of Raw, Smackdown, ECW, and TNA. It has argueably the two most over new comers on it's Roster, who has, I think, the best chance to become the future of the WWE in CM Punk and Lashley. They aren't trying to recapture the old ECW. It has been said many many times before. It is the new ECW, not the old ECW. And the wrong wrestlers are in it? What do you propose? Take all the ECW guys from old, many of who can't or wont wrestle anymore, and thats it? No, you need new faces. ECW has the best mixure of Old/New ECW wrestlers on it's show. And, if you didn't know, Paul Heyman books ECW. Blame him if you don't like how it's being run.

Are you high? Raw, ECW, and Smackdown are each running on about three of eight cylinders because of gross talent misuse. TNA has PPVs that maintain loads more consistent workrate and pops than anything the WWE has put out in a long, long time (including Wrestlemania). Lashley is a bland character who has a slight modicum of talent to fall back on, but he's still green. I'll give you CM Punk, but he's been wasted in matches that don't tax 1/4 of his overall talent and ability because he's wrestling against guys who aren't qualified to wash his jock. Paul Heyman doesn't have anymore control over ECW than I do. He's been Vince's lapdog since he sold his company. Hence having The Big Slow wear the title belt. The only place Show gets extreme is at an all-you-can-eat buffet. The fact is, they use stupid gimmicks and are pushing less-than-talented wrestlers. Strip poker?!? I almost puked on my TV remote that night. It's not that I want to see the entire roster from 2001 or before make a comeback, but when you say fresh faces, I'd mean legit fresh faces. Guys from the indy scene that can actually work and that are worth their merit in the ring. The booking and structure of the show caters to the average cornfed WWE-mark who only has an attention span and appreciation these days for matches that are five minutes and are spot-callable up to five moves in advance. The original, and "real" ECW was unpredictable and pushed the boundaries of what American wrestling could be. ECW could've been the place for McMahon to re-ignite the fire of American wrestling, instead he put out a show that has ratings that collectively went down the toilet since it's summer debut. Not the recipe and example of a successful brand establishment.

They should keep ECW because I'm not a fan of people start something and not finishing it. Just do it right for gods sake. Everything Vince puts his hands on turns to shit and noone sees it. The WCW/ECW Invasion angle should have been the best storyline of all time but of course they ruined it. The ECW relaunch should have been huge but once again they ruined it. Hell Vince wouldn't let them have the first show in The ECW Arena because they don't allow pyros in the building. If Vince wants to recapture ECW to a small degree its rather easy to do. He just simply needs to get his filthy hands off of it. Give it to Heyman and just collect your percentage of the profits. ECW will never be the same but it could easily be better. If anything they need to get rid of Smackdown and give ECW the talent and chance that it deserves. But then again Vince isn't quite known for respecting history or legacies.

You are right about Raw. That show isn't nearly as good as it shoudl be. But Smackdown is head and shoulders above Raw in terms or pure Wrestling. Storylines, while still somewhat interesting, takes a backseat to the actual wrestling, which is how it should be. ECW isn't that far behind, considering it is only an hour long. Lashley isn't all that bland really. Keep him quiet, with the fire he has in the ring, and you have yourself one badass monster. You don't have to have mic skills in every circumstance. Hell, do you hear his pops when he comes out? Pretty impressive considering. CM Punk isn't wrestling to notch guys for a reason. How stupid would it be to bring him in, and have him go against RVD or Sabu right from the get go? No, you build him up. Start him from the beginning. Hell, I still think him being in the chamber is a bit too soon. Paul Heyman have plenty of control over ECW. He's the head booker for it. Big Show has been a good ECW champion, and anyone can see that if they didn't have bias. He's worked his ass off for ECW. Blame RVD, one of your origonals for him getting th ebelt in the first place. His body is breaking down the point that he's in pain everyday, and contemplating retirement, and he still goes out there. Is that not enough? Not to mention some of the good hardcore matches he's had as Champion. He's doing his job well. Who are they pushing that is less then Talented? CM Punk, Big Show, RVD, Lashley, Sabu, Hardcore Holly, and Test are who they are pushing big. The only one who you can really make a case for as being less then stellar is Test. Sure, some segments are going to bomb on the show, as "extreme strip poker" did, but not EVERY segment is gonna be good all the time. If you could look at ECW without the biasness of the old ECW, you would see it for what it is. A Seperate brand that has nothing to do with the old ECW, that offers good entertainment.

Heyman only has control for the time being because Stephanie was having a baby. His storyline is a recycled hash of the Austin/McMahon angle...which was a recycled has of WCW/Bischoff. Big Show is a lousy worker. He's only where he is because of his size. Decrease his height by six inches and he couldn't get booked in OVW. Big Show has only been good in the matches where credible workers carry his fat ass. Smackdown is a perfect example of how to book a show completely ass-backwards in relation to who has the most talent. This is why Batista is once again champion of the World and Benoit is relegated to midcard champ? Anyone who agrees with this move has zero clue of what could help the show as a cohesive entity. Sabu is really being pushed by being fed to Umaga on Monday in a Brooklyn Brawler-worthy squash, and the whole ECW roster with the exception of Show got their asses handed to them (even Taz in the announcer's booth) during the Raw Homecoming. They're being billed as third-stringer's on a dead show instead of being kept separate as a fan's wrestling showcase.
Then why the hell use the letters "ECW?" That's the dumbest thing I've heard lately. They tried to duplicate the formula and force-feed lousy "talent" like Batista and Show to the Hammerstein faithful (a legit ECW crowd) and they got booed out of the f***ing zipcode. ECW doesn't have a fraction of the crowd response or passion that it had in it's heyday because it's constructed and booked for the clueless masses. Not those of us who appreciate workrate over bull$hit gimmickry and needless mic time for guys who can't differentiate between a hammerlock and MC Hammer.

The show is a disgrace.

I watched the first two, and realized that it was an awful mistake.

Had they intended on letting it run as its own promotion with little involvement from Raw and Smackdown, I think it could have been good. As it stands now, it is terrible.

Ok. Then you said it yourself. Heyman has control, even if only for the time being. So if you don't like how ECW is being booked, complain to him about it, the genius of the old ECW. Why is Big Show a lousy worker? you give me if's such as "If he was shorter". He's not. Give me some reasons why he's lousy, and maybe I'll agree. He's been very goo din his role. He's suppost be be an unstopable monster, and he plays it to a que. His matches with Sabu were very good, and they were carried by Big Show. Sabu botches on a regular basis, but Big Show still made it look good. Lets face it, Big Show is doing a good job. Smackdown isn't doing anything bad by giving the title to Batista. Bad Worker? Yes, you have me there. One of the only bad workers on Smackdown, but he's the most over in the whole company. It would be stupid not to give it to him. Be happy they they waited as long as they did for him to get the title. Benoit is in a fued with Chavo over the US title. Not midcard in the least. Chavo's fued with Rey was a high profile fued, as is this one, which also builds the credit of the US Title. Not to mention they produce great matches. Umaga is being pushed as an unstopable monster. Would you make Sabu wreck him? That would be a step back from all the work they put into him. It's not like they did it just because he's on ECW. Umaga wrecked Cena just the night before. Taz got his ass handed to him on Homecoming because JBL is a better announcer. It's not as if they said, "Ok, JBL, go out there and make Taz look like an ass!" JBL just had better comebacks to what Taz said. They use the letter ECW because they knew it would attract people. It's not stupid. It's good business. They put Batista into the Hammerstein ballroom, and got just the reaction they were looking for. Vince loves that kind of heat. People knew it would get that kind of heat, and they viewed in to see it get that kind of heat. again. Good business. No Wrestling Show, be it on WWE or TNA has the crowd reaction is used to have. Wrestling isn't nearly as popular. To say ECW doesn't get the reaction it used to is common sense.

They couldn't let it run as it's own promotion in the beginning. The Roster was too thin. As well, they needed to gathers peoples interest int he show, as it got off the ground. The only way to succesfully do that would be to have big named guys on the show. Watch it tomorrow and you'll see a big differance in who is on the show. More then not, It's only ECW guys now.

When I first heard that ECW was comign back i was kinda up in the air on whether it would be good or bad. yes it needs alot of work still done to it. It can be a good product if it is done right and the right people are given the push. I do agree that if vince would keep his nose out it could work.
I think that another title needs to be brought into the mix. I know the obvious would be a tag title, but if you ask me I think that they should bring the World TV title back. That title actually had more of a push in the old ECW days when RVD had his long run with it.

Heyman is now McMahon's lapdog. Any of the final say of how the product is executed always goes through McMahon. If that wasn't the case, then the format of the show would've been just like on One Night Stand. Considering it's a polar opposite, I seriously doubt Heyman is ruling with an iron fist. This is why the show doesn't even remotely have the feel of the original show, regardless of whatever input Heyman may have with it. It's taped in front of the clueless Smackdown audiences that have zero appreciation for solid work in the ring, whilst they lap up horse$hit gimmicks and corny storylines.

Great, then don't book Sabu and keep watching Suckdown on Friday. I'd rather see the action he can put forth (botches included) as it's ten times more creative, and properly representative of the actual concept and purpose of ECW then watching Show use the worst sidekick in the business and work towards his chop and chokeslam offense without trying to have a heart attack past the five minute mark. Reasons why Show is lousy? For starters, the lack of mobility, which is getting worse with the more restaurants he closes down. Lack of moves. He's as slow as two nursing home patients f***ing, which makes for very "exciting" matches. His gimmick is his size, and damn sure not his talent. He was discovered by Hulk Hogan's dumb ass at a Bulls game and only got his in with the business because Hogan recognized his circus factor. The only reason he was put on ECW was because it's a dumping ground for those on Raw and Smackdown they have nothing for.

Don't get me started on the angle that drags Eddy's name through the mud as each week passes. Mysterio carries Chavo's worthless ass because Chavo has NEVER had serious pops or heat of his own. He's a curtain jerker who played off the pops of his uncle (in WCW and in the Los Guererros tag team), and now from Rey. He should go back to riding a stick horse as that was sadly the only time he was ever over on his own accord.

If you don't think that the WWE announce team gets everything spoonfed via microphone from the back, you're dreaming. McMahon is usually on the other end feeding them lines like baby formula. It's apparently such good business that the ratings for ECW has decreased around 40% since its debut this past summer. Yeah, good business sense. The new ECW is indeed a house of fire. No, that wasn't the reaction they were looking for. They tried editing a majority of the crowd response out of it, and the two ass-puppets Taz and Styles tiptoed around the entire incident acting like nothing was happening, while trying to act interested about a collossally shitty attempt at wrestling between two jokes in the ring whilst the intelligent fans cried for blood. TNA still gets hot pops and major heat...just like it used to. WWE gets a fraction of what it used to because it's running on fumes and so withdrawn from anything relevant that it's nauseating.

Naw its a cool wwe show. I dont think theres anything wrong with it. Its silly, but that's what kinda of makes it right now. This new ecw has become a caricature of its former self. It's basicallly a gimmick. Wrestlings meant to be SILLY. A fun silly past time. I think the problem is you guys expect to much from out of it.(ecw) You guys take this stuff way too seriously.

In my own opinion, the WWE have tarnished all respect that I have ever had for ECW. Who the hell makes an 'Extreme Rules' match? Every match used to be extreme rules! Please do everyone a favour, shut ECW down and let the old legacy of ECW carry on and not this joke of a company.

As a philly native and former ecw supporter, wwe has screwed up ecw beyond any hope. They should keep Lashley, RVD, Test, Punk, and Sandman. maybe sabu but he'd go back 2 tna anyway. everyone else i couldn't are less about.

I also dont know what they are gonna do about there PPV. I mean all there talent is in the chamber, What does that leave for the other matches??

I was never a huge fan of the old ecw and don't believe a new one should have been made. I think if anything should have been remade it should have been wcw in 2001.
