I'm sure you're fine. The Bar Room may seem a bit cliquish and daunting to jump into at first, but areas beyond the Bar Room are always waiting for someone to new to jump in and make a splash (not that the Bar Room isn't....but you get my point.)

So are the divisions being ranked by win/loss record, or by points awarded? I didn't quite get that part.

Win loss is the ultimate determining factor, the first tie breaker is points, the second is head to head.

I did it that way because the head to head match up isn't always indicative of the better debater within one given topic, whereas the accumulation of points determines season long greatness.
